  • I never knew any of this. I always thought nearly all New England yankees fought for the enemy side during the War for Southern Independence. Good to see that James Pierpont fought for the Confederacy. I wonder if the girl in the song, Fanny Bright, was a girlfriend of James' in Savannah.
