A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Excellent setup for a Mid-Tower. ASUS are the only boards I use (ok I do have one MSI out of 7 PC's & use it for downloads). Bluegears sound cards, Corsair Ram (one with OCZ), Raptor Drives in RAID 0... etc. Buy quality components, and your PC's will last ten years not two. Get a Parasound 5 Channel Amp off of Ebay and hook your 5.1 Surround into that (Bluegears converts ALL PC sound to pure Dolby Digital) and you can light the entire house up with killer sound. WARNING: Cops!

480 dropping price? On newegg it went from 500 to 450, still more than 5870. And when you are measuring the computing power of GPUs you measure in teraflops. A 5870 has 2.72 teraflops, 480 has 1.35. So the 5870 is more powerful than your overpriced 480. Now, I do know that the CUDA architecture yields advantages during heavy tessaltion, impling I already knew a 5870 CAN handle tessalation, but not as effiently. And with the 6900 series just around the corner, your 480 will look pathetic.

The Rampage III or II? Don't get me wrong their both awesome OC'ing boards. And if you were do do an i7 build right now, go for the i7 950 ($300), an MSI BigBang ($300), and a beautiful 6870 ($260). Too bad I went with AMD. However, I plan on getting the Intel 2011 CPUs when the come out :D

I personally own 2 of the ROG mobo's and 3 other ASUS mobo's so I am not being biased. All I was impling was that MSI and Gigabyte boards tend to be better value, and a lot simpler to use for everyday scenarios. I am not saying ASUS boards suck, I love 'em and they OC like beasts.

As for NVIDIA vs ATi, I personally go with whoever has the fastest, cheapest, and best rated products and right now that seems to be ATi line-up of GPUs.

All NVIDIA has is the overpriced, too power hungry, outrageously hot GTX480. I previously owned a 480, and was fairly decent but after three days, it failed and developed the gray horrizontal lines overheating problem. This was just my personal expierence and does not represent yours or others towards the 480. Also, the 6900 series of ATi GPU's are coming Q4 of 2010 and they are going to handle tessaltion, much better than the 5800 series. And dominate the only highlight of the 480.
