I remember when I saw this man in a conservatory in Southampton, England. Playing to a bunch of us with Chris McCaughan. It was one of the most special performances I've ever, ever seen. :)
I really like this song. My friend picked up an acoustic guitar and plyed it/sang it really well. I like the way he does it a little better, bu the credit has to go to Mr. Park here :]
This is a great song about the parental and societal pressures for Asians to be high achievers. It ties into the "Model Minority" myth quite well too. Great stuff by Mike. Thanks for sharing.
seen him in downtown honolulu this pass saturday night. was a small all acoustic show in an art gallery. it was great. mike had a laptop and projector so he could play along with videos and home movies.
Mike is such a genuine dude, and has some of the best acoustic/folk songs I have ever heard. I saw him twice, both in 2004 and in Pittsburgh (Plea For Peace and on tour with Jenny Choi in a coffeehouse downtown). So down to earth and real easy to talk to. I love it.
did anyone else take part in the Mike Park live from your living room tour, a friend of mine did and i have been hooked on this guys music since, it was great. Mike and is buddies that came along even accompanied us to the opening of Batman Begins, it was pretty righteous.
