one thing I've always loved is that Nathan Lane (Timon) and Ernie Sabella (Pumba) first came to audition for the roles of the hyenas, they had never met each other before but the audition were laughing like old friends and the producers who had two different actors in mind for the role immediately cast them both as the characters we know and love today. also to this day they are good friends and also appear together on screen
