Typhoon in Hong Kong is not like Hurricane in the US. It's the same wind speed but far less damage and less people hurt. It's very rare that anybody gets hurt. At warning level 8 all offices close and everybody goes home - or to karaoke to spend the night.
ROFL! I was there with my mom and my cousz. We came back from this mall and when we got downstairs, it was plain terrible. There was this guy exclaiming in Chinese "WATCH OUT MY BAG MY BAG!!!" and a lot of people were like FK OFF!! :P But anyways, it was hard to get in those trains. When i got to Tsim Tsa Tsui, it was prettey clear :P Lol and to add to jam, there was a lock down so they prevented people getiin in lol which flooded the whole dam ass system :P
Hahahha XD i got to the gate and went in and then we went down the stairs and i was like so long fkas!!! and when i got t the platform i was like ohhh fuck this.... XD
I was having a holiday in Hong Kong during that time. Was walking towards Kowloon Tong station to take a train to Tsim Sha Tsui. Was very surprise to see so many people at the station then. Hahaa.. didn't know that the typhoon 8 signal was hoisted and it means everyone go home. Until, one Hong Konger told me to get back to the hotel.
I was either just arriving in Hong Kong when this happened. I read about it in the newspaper the next day. Must have been bad to be there. I heard a lot of people were quite upset about the sudden change in the typhoon signal.
and i was there on that day. i took about an hour from Central to Tsuen Wan, almost dobuled time then the norm
