Pretty shoddy camera work. The crew had the cameramen on kim chee and the wizard at the moment of piper ducking and kamala hitting orndorff lol. I love these old house shows from the 80s in msg, and philly, and cleveland etc. where the whole crowd were still "marks" for the show. It was great... the crowd wanted to try to hurt the heels themselves lol! There was real heat in those days.
The Tampa Connection made a pretty cool team back then! I'm sure it was at least a little bit difficult for Orndorff to watch as Hogan's career shot beyond the realm of mortal man while he was constantly hindered by injuries in his prime.
@prettyhard731 They did team in the fall of 86, but that was at MSG. This match here was March 14,1987. The previous month, Hogan faced Kamala and Orndorff dressed up as Kimchee to attack him.
@Djteedoe420 Paul indeed tore his bicep while weightlifting. This was during his big money run against Hogan, so he opted not to rehab it until the program was finished. When Hogan began his feud against Andre, Paul was written out. Come the inaugural Survivor Series, Paul was back in the fold as a babyface, feuding with the Heenan Family, and specifically Rick Rude. But his bicep would still nag and he would "retire" for two years.
when they were putting the card together, andre was still in question health wise so they kept orndorff opened in case he had to fill in. a bit more of a story behind this, if you recall a few months earlier at saturday nis main event heenan said hogan would be stripped of title after the controversial cage match. that was said to set up a vacant title match between orndorff/hogan IF andre couldn't make it
Very good question. I was thinking the same thing. Probably some contract dispute with Vince, who knows. Orndorff would've been a great addition to WM3.

the time stamp says 3/14/1987. Wasn't that the same night as the Battle Royal on SNME that was the final pre-set-up bf WM3?
