We want democracy even in the schools stupid teachers must listen to grievances of the students and thats the only way we can nature a peaceful society.
Teachers and education officials right from the minister PS to bottom must set good example to the students too just recently ministry officials who will sit to judge the students stole money for free education.
Like Father Like son...our country is breeding a society of violent and vicious youths! Ban boarding schools and let parents cook for them same same diet...or worse foodstuff!
The school system in Kenya is the most undemocratic system on earth. Students have no rights whatsoever and the school administration is always right. The principal for instance will spend half the day in his office-obviously doing nothing. Accountability for school resources is non existent. And the voice of students is strangled. In other countries, people listen to the youth for direction. Not in Kenya. It is this sort of primitive thinking that sparks such mayhem. We NEED to evolve
not to condone this kind of violence but the meals given in schools is just crap no one should have to eat it . KEnyan schoold need to raise the standard of food served
Good food definately goes a long way for all kids including high school kids. They don't need much. I suspect the principals or headmasters are stealing money and the students know this. Hence this problem. Kenyan schools need great changes to make them more customer friendly. Teachers, parents and other parties need to understand really "children do come first'. Lesbmistique, do you have any kids of your own? Do you know how it feels to give birth?;) well, just looking out for u! Mwaah!
@karuitha These are stupid boys. I know that school very well. The burnt building was a solid building that housed the Agriculture Block too, besides the food store. Can you imagine what would have happened if the whole block burnt down?
How can they destroy food when there is so much famine?
@karuitha - agreed. We ate that crap food, survived and even got involved in athletics - we are alive and doing quite well. I think these kids need to be disciplined - each one should pay up for the destruction and not be allowed to sit national exams until they complete the payments.
Kidz in Knya have gone hay wire
I had a cousin drop out of school last yr just coz he did not like the food in the boarding school he attended!!!!.
They are not serious
