And yes, right or wrong (I say wrong) it is perfectly legal censorship on YouTube's behalf. Please look up the word in a dictionary: "to suppress or delete as objectionable." YouTube could even decide to ban certain races of people, if they wanted. It would be legal, but not necessarily acceptable in the eyes of most.

Firstly, YouTube's own terms of use states that they do reserve the right to suspend accounts with no warning or e-mail for offenses they deem serious, and harassment would clearly fall in that category. But keep in mind that they also say they use US law regarding those issues as their criteria for determination.

Secondly, there are many firsthand accounts of people that have had their accounts suspended with no such warning. One person that had their account suspended and all their comments deleted by YouTube, put considerable effort into getting their case examined, and eventually YouTube reinstated them and restored their comments. YouTube also sent them an e-mail saying that it turns out the whole thing was an accident on their behalf.

Yeah, I was suspended once too, and I'd spent years on a channel. All 7000 some comments were gone.

Later I was reinstated because of, what they say, was a technical issue, they were all restored back to where they were.

So... there is that, at least. Your comments might return when you are reinstated.

I eventually got a response, and they reopened my account after realizing something was wrong.

I recently signed up to a forum site but then I left because the mods were trigger happy with censorship. But what has happened to you is far worse. My main problem with the way information has been centralized (e.g. wikipedia, youtube, etc) is that it makes it a juicy target for manipulation by extremists and conmen of all stripes.

It also makes it quite easily to delete not only debate, but any sign there was a debate - the internet needs to get back to its decentralized roots.

Sorry to hear about this.  You should get other prominent youtube users to upload your old videos and get you new subscribers. You might just be able to turn a negative into a positive that way and get your material out to more creationists!

This wouldn't be DMCA abuse, though a lot of creationists use that erroneously, but were I in your situation I would contact DPRJones and the guys on the DMCAAbuse channel. This may be right up their alley. At any rate, they've been in the trenches with YouTube quite a bit on this.

I was in a similar situation. I was trolled by someone that had several accounts and kept on bothering me. I e-mailed youtube requesting that this person be ip banned. Youtube messaged me back pretty much saying that they deleted all of his comments and suspended the account. This was over 2 years ago. So it is possible.

It only took a day for them to respond. However, I doubt that there even was an ip ban. It felt very automated. So I agree that you are justified in believing that NephilimFree did a similar complaint. Apparently he realized that blocking you wasn't going to do any good.
