  • temazo ete es antiguo que mal q dimmu lo q era antes ya no es lo mismo

  • As for the old album version compared to the 2005 version, one of the biggest reasons I like this one is the vocals are easier to hear than in the 2005 versions. But that's probably becuase there was alot more sounds put into the music than in this versions. I like it when artists try to accomplish great sounding, quality tracks while finding a medium between "too many" sounds and "too little". Honestly, I end up going to lyric sites for most of their songs..

  • Here again, the sound of a choir singing in the background, or having a classical nature inside a track, AT LEAST TO ME.. sounds epic. Even Shagrath will tell you he aimed his music at becoming more "epic" by doing such things, most noteably in the Oslo Spektrum, and having said so himself in an interview. Change, sometimes, is actually healthy. I'm a fan of all their music but not a satanist. It'd probs be anti-dimmu for them to drop that satanist stuff, but change is good sometimes.

  • this version has a better atmosphere than the new one

  • Hails Dimmu! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • MY OPINION

    Old fans love 1994 - 1999

    New fans like 2001 - 2010

    TRUE FANS LIKE 1994 - 2010.

  • @XanaX93 True fans are retards. Listen to and praise good music, don't make idiots with guitars your heroes.

  • Comment removed

  • @autobotftwww maybe but your comment is much more retard. I'm a fan and I listen and praise all kind of good music and I'm not making idiots with guitars my heroes. Forgot that all fans are not made from the same iron bar?

  • @XanaX93 i,m true fan

  • Oh, how all the shit since SPD has pretty much sucked. The remake was a piece of crap, lost all the feeling and personality that the original recording has. For All Tid as well, what a great album. The new thing, it sucks ass, and I hate see the kids of today thinking of it as great music, when they should be using to wipe their assess.

  • @Korgon2013 do you accept if I'm so huge fan of DB htat I love ALL their stuff exept ISD?

  • @XanaX93 I hate ISD too!

  • Comment removed

  • @Korgon2013 It is called "Progression". Yes, they could have chosen to keep the same sounds as always. But have you ever heard something annoying, and repetative before? It's annoying, and repetative. You can't always do the same thing always, it just gets old in at least some way, maybe more than one. Dimmu Borgir has changed the sounds of their music, incorporating more into it wether it be instruments or a choir. Nevertheless, by Metal standards, the new stuff is still good.

  • who are those 4 faggots who hit dislike?

  • Campare this to their new album:D

  • hey shagrath, please make more of the old shit :-)

  • @82pixels they did, its the remake of stormblast. Haha jk, what a travesty!

  • @82pixels I don't see the point in Dimmu making the same stuff over and over again.

  • so just listen to this great composition, or check out my cover :-)

  • i dont care about religion or satanism or wathever, i just like the fucking vibe of this song, the emotion you get when you listen to a great song like this, thats the only thing that matters... music is my religion...

  • satanism my foot......just enjoy the music you morons..and dont psychoanalyse

  • It seems that this is one of the rare songs by Dimmu that actually has more significant lyrical significance in terms of sadness and poetry rather than the same old Satanic crap.

  • @DistortedFaiths Your point is significantly more significant than it might have otherwise been, given the significant level of significance and all.

  • @cvg1099 Can't a person make a mistake?

  • @DistortedFaiths I was just playing around :D I agree with your original point, too.

  • @cvg1099 Thanks. I am embarrassed but Its true. It isn't about Satan or anything. It has a deeper meaning.

  • @DistortedFaiths Well, Satan is a pretty deep topic when you think about it. I mean, the guy (or gal) is tooling around underneath the Earth's mantle for Christ's sake (well not literally for Christ's sake, just a figure of speech). At the very least, being fireproof is a pretty deep concept, not to mention those other miscellaneous powers like soul acquisition and controlling the dark side of human thought

  • @cvg1099 Yes, well Satanism can appear as a deep spiritual concept revealed in lyrical contexts, however in Dimmu Borgir's perspective Satan is really undersized in small, stereotyped details.

Satanism from your daily bible knowledge is the central figure of hell (the underworld). It is really trivial to know that Satan is underworld torturing the people who went against the bible's law in their previous life on earth.

  • Spiritual Satanism is a reaction to the bible - Satan isn't just another Christian idea, but moreover rebellion to authority in society. These satanists want to signify a greater meaning than what the Christians perceived. But there are other ways to view Satanism. In another sense the concept of going into the underworld and being tortured for eternity is one of the most evil thoughts one can ever fathom. It seems Dimmu Borgir is simply viewing anger as the most important factor of Satanism.

  • @DistortedFaiths You said the magic word and hit the nail on the head: IDEA. All aspects of Satan, or Christ, or of all religions for that matter, are at best, simply ideas. 100% conjectural, 100% debatable, 100% potentially dangerous as such.

But if Satan did exist, he would be fireproof, and that would be cool enough for me.

  • @DistortedFaiths Yeah but he's fireproof. Gotta give it up for that shizz.

  • @cvg1099 Precisely what Dimmu conveys. "The fireproof evil villain".

  • @DistortedFaiths Yeah maybe he's evil, and thus yeah maybe we could call him a villain, or at least villainous. But the guy should get the credit he's due for being fireproof. I think all firemen should wear a little devil emblem on their hats or something.

  • @cvg1099 "STAND DOWN! WE'RE FIREMEN IN THE NAME OF SATAN AND WE'LL PUT DOWN THE FIRE THAT SOME OF HIS SERVANTS ALREADY PUT ON THIS ORPHANAGE! RAWR!" XD

  • @DistortedFaiths wanna try old Dimmu songs without satanic crap? Check out most songs off For All Tid *except Det Nye Riket and For All Tid*, and maybe Alt Lys and Stormblast :D

  • Their last great album, eh how sad.

  • This is a fun song to learn on guitar Hail Satan!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful

  • both versions make my dick move........ there....i said it.

  • My fav song by them, no doubt. I like this one and the remake album they did.

  • I dont care what anyone says, I love fucking everything of Dimmu Borgir!

  • Best song written by Dimmu Borgir in my humble opinion.

  • Detta er så jævlig rått ( this is so damn great )

  • i know all of you guys are saying "the original is the best". but in my opinione its which ever one you hear first will be your favorite

  • @80smetalchild when I started listening to Dimmu the new edition was the 1st I heard, but I like the old more :)

  • @spyranteros

well not 100% of the time haha. i can even disprove my comment, i heard the old version of broderskapets ring first, but i like the new one better !

  • @80smetalchild lol its funny to agree when we disagree!

  • @80smetalchild I heard the newest one first, but like this one the best, so that makes you an opinionated liar. Your opinions should be kept as opinions, you can't speak for anyone else.

  • @SonoftheMorning666

so your saying that my opinion was a fact? i didnt say that in my comment. i said "in my opinion" not "it is a fact that". so shutup

  • @80smetalchild 3at a dick

  • @80smetalchild Nope this one has emotional depth and and the new one only has noise.

  • the "original version" of every song it's always the best version!! = )

  • ,A Vertiginous Romantic black metal waltz is what the early dimmu borgir works are, sadness and pain,

A black metal band with the true heart of Goth. Works such as these are Quite rare in this world trust me.

I recommend this unknown album for people that like Stormblast era dimmu borgir

Nebular Moon … Of Dreams And Magic

  • this is black metal, the new dimmu borgir is plastic metal.

  • @undeathguppie the new dimmu is still great, you cant expect bands this good to remain the same as before, they do change, that doesnt mean there bad.

  • @masterjarred32

for a black metal band they are bad, sure it ist that much crap but for black metal it is

it just isnt black metal anymore, eventhough they say it is

  • @undeathguppie : I ABSOLUTELY agree!

  • @undeathguppie just mainstream!

  • @Cancer8006 DCA? Not atmophere in my eyes. It got a certain feeling to i though. SBD was not well produced. Not if you compare it to their newer stuff. It certaily are better produced anyways.

  • @Cancer8006 Evacuation Code Deciphered is such an amazing song. I bought the album Sideshow Symphonies and the DVD Shipwrecked In Oslo, which is a great chance to see SImen perform a whole show live on the vocals.

  • @Cancer8006 OMG dude, Arcturus is the SHIT! Seriously, best band ever. Simen and Hellhammer together = pure awesomeness. I could tell you so much about them. Which is very apparent because my username is Arcturus.

Also, don't forget Borknagar. Try songs from Borknagar like Colossus and Oceans Rise. BTW, on Oceans Rise, Simen does the harsh vocals as well as the clean. He can do it ALL vocally!

  • @Cancer8006 I love Dimmu. That;s why I get so disgruntled when people talk shit about them. Like, I'm a hardcore black metal fan. Heard about and got into Mayhem before I did Dimmu. But no matter what, Dimmu is fucking amazing, and even though they go through line up changes like almost every year... the still manage to find the best musicians to join them. They have had 3 PHENOMENAL drummers in their band, all of which I would consider some of the best.

  • @Cancer8006 But nothing Dimmu has ever done will beat Arcturus' Sideshow Symphonies album.

  • @Cancer8006 Favorite is Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, second would be SBD. I remember when I bought PEM and I hadn't really listened to it. Then I was getting on my bike to ride to the gym and put PEM on and the transition from Fear And Wonder into Blessings was amazing. Then as I was lifting, I heard Simen come in on Kings of the Carnival Creation and I was like, WTF is this band? THEY ARE AMAZING! And when I first heard the Insight And The Catharsis I was blown away. Shivers every time.

  • @Cancer8006 The name calling is obviously because you got the name wrong :)

I have to disagree. I pre-ordered their new CD and when I got it, I was highly impressed at how damn good it was. Especially since the reason I got into the band at first was because of Simen, I thought they did a great job without him. Plus Simen is better off in Borknagar or rejoining Arcturus than he is in Dimmu.

  • @Cancer8006 I own the 2005 version (get it correct moron) and that album is shit compared to the original.

It's sad, people like you are what gives black metal AND Dimmu Borgir such a shitty reputation.

  • man this is fucking epic Dimmu, those 3 people that didnt like it should burned to death inside of a church.

    3 cheers for church burning!!!!

    hip

    hip

    hooray!!!

  • @iluminati20 Go suck Varg's dick.

  • @Cancer8006 No I say black metal is mainly about atmophare, wich the 2006 version dont got at all. I do not care about youre pereferanses whitin music are all about.

And albums wich are well prodused usually dont have any atmosphere.

  • @Drummerdrok666 Learn to spell please.

  • @Arcturus420 Learn to shut up please. English is not my 1st language so it is not a requirement for me to speak it well.

  • @Drummerdrok666 If you can barely speak and type in, then kindly STFU and GTFO.

  • @Arcturus420 I have no problem speaking english, it is just some flwas in typing... Just fuck off and die..please

  • @Drummerdrok666 Yeah, that's really healthy. Guess the internet is serious business.

  • Comment removed

  • nice, makes me wanna kill some pp

  • @BloodedKnife You obviously didnt listen to the music then

  • This is SO fucking gooooood, old DB were epic!

  • Hey does anyone know of any black metal albums that have a similar sound to this album? Ive tried Satyricons olders stuff, but it doesnt sound like this. Thanks in advance!

  • I can't bring myself to hate one of the two versions. That being said, I believe everyone should have the utmost respect for this version as it is still the original. This song, along with the rest of this album represents the biggest and most interesting creative work from Dimmu Borgir.

On the other hand, I have to admit that the new version is indeed insanely powerful. I can understand those who prefer it to the original.

I still prefer the deeper original version myself.

  • better (i like older) or not they had to rerecord do to (c)opy right issues

  • The new version is more powerful. You guys are just being sentimental.

  • 90% of the original album is better, but this songs remake is complete masterpiece.

  • my fave

  • The vocals and the raw sound, this is fucking EPIC!

  • HELL YEAH FUCK THE 2005 REMAKE. fucking over produced piece of shit

  • @kmfdm5 The main reason they even remade it was because the old version was out of production or something like that and a lot of their fans hadn't even heard it. They wanted to introduce newer fans to older works. At least that's what I heard.

  • @DagosZeta WHAT!? OUT OF PRODUCTION!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @kmfdm5 I KNOW, RIGHT?! THAT MEANS WE HAVE TO EITHER BUY AN EXPENSIVE USED COPY OVER THE INTERNET OR DOWNLOAD IT ILLEGALLY! OH darn,

  • @DagosZeta you suck lol well luckily for me i bought it before it was sold out and its saved to me windows media player. im gonna go hump my monitor now

  • @kmfdm5 Have fun with that. Use protection.

  • @DagosZeta

how could they be out of production. why not just use the shapes of the first release and reproduce em?

  • @Kimpermaans That would've been a great idea. Maybe they wanted to make some changes, and deal with the fact that Sorgens Kammer and the intro of Alt Lys Svunnet Hen were plagiarized. The whole new album was made almost entirely by Silenoz and Shagrath with a few appearances of other people like Hellhammer.

  • @kmfdm5 nah man they are both great! i really like the remake too :-)

  • @HeavyGuitarMachine meh the remake sounded like doney farts recorded on audacity with a computer that has a shitty sound card

  • my favourite song from dimmu borgir. i knew dimmu in 1995, it was great back then.

  • Naum tem nem comparação .

A versão do novo Stromblast naum é tão boa quanto a original.

Realmente se for pra comparar os níveis de som e obscuridade (^^) fico com a original.

  • well i like the original, but really i think the new one is better, also the new stormblåst is better i think :-)

  • i actually like both versions of each song in this album.

  • es un lujo escuchar a dimmu

    los primeros albun

  • the first time i heard these guys i thought they were fucking bad. then my friend told me to listen to theyre older stuff, and now here i am. This is pure magic. What the hell happened to them now?!

  • @10pencils money, i just heard the new track from the new album...this is so fuckking gay, bad, whatever...hail old DM

  • The new version sound more "nu-metal". This version is better, the only thing i don't like is the weak guitar sound

  • @DragonInMyAnus The entire album has a weak guitar sound. It's like 90% keypoard, piano. That's good when you have keyboard in metal...but not THAT much, goddammit!

  • best song

  • I enjoy the new edition too.

  • i dont see why bands like Dimmu and Cradle of Filth try to remake their songs when they know it will never be as good as the original

  • @moses2622 i dont see why they dont just stick to making this kind of music altogether.a shame but shit happens.theres much better bands out there anyway

  • @louiscfc93 very true

  • this is true

  • Podzielam opinię niżej zamieszczonych komentarzy, brak mi słów żeby opisać tą piosenkę ];-)

  • call me crazy but i love both versions

  • @uglydave well,we're both crazy though

  • @uglydave Welcome to the club of crazies!

  • I think the new version is garbage compared to the old one. This version is flawless in my opinion. It has a perfect, drawn out, faded away sound that represents the element of what the music is trying to communicate. Despair and darkness are not loud. They are slow, grunged out phases of existence. I can listen to this 24/7

  • @GrandStyles You need therapy.

  • @GrandStyles i disagree.... the new version is the same only with better audio quality..excelent arrangements and flawless mastering!! dont get me wrong, this album is awesome, but compared to the remake..i prefer the remake

  • My friend showed me with this album that dimmu borgir wasnt always a poserish joke,i really changed my opinion about them, but only for their first stuff

  • their best album

  • Der Anfang und das Ende von DB.....GEILES ALBUM!!!!!

  • hands down my favorite Borgir song.

  • this sounds like they given up as a band... like the last album to patch things up then leave... i never knew they lacked so much energy and Epic in the past; the first song i heard was blessings then kings on a demo from a metal mag with an import special... like pure luck... so hearing the remake's version makes me think they now realize the energy was not there... but adding it now still leaves it missing something... maybe i just want to like the songs so much; stuff would catch on fire lol

  • @Slayer7666COF

I think you're just more taken by higher production.

  • @Eakflanderyof maybe but hearing brutal death metal and extreme like HENKER and Behemoth, then some black metal here and there plus some symphonic black metal, the band Death... i get a feeling that is softer than what i would expect from DB in this version... like some one burring his pet dog in the rain surrounded by crying Demons lol today they sound like they resent the universe's coldness and is representing it musically... maybe im just emophobik and turning into some angry gorilla lol...

  • @Slayer7666COF

Haha I mean to each their own. And yeah it's not really heavy. I just like the depressive, atmospheric quality of it. Their new stuff is okay to me. Some of it kicks ass. They still write some pretty awesome composition here and there, but it just seems like they're newer stuff is less original and more predictable I guess.

  • I prefer the new version myself. While the original may be "True Black Metal". You can't deny the fact that the new version has more atmosphere, ambiance, and emotion.

  • @Brutalious while I like both versions, I must say that I think the vocals on the original version seem a tad amateurish in the mixing and production. the effects of his voice stand out too much on the older version. still charming, enjoyable black metal tho

  • @Brutalious

I disagree. I think the low production on the old version is what captures the atmosphere and emotion that was killed for the sterilized re-recording.

  • Este es un gran disco (yeah yeah hormigas de espartookzckcjlasdfbkn.........)

  • His voice when talk-singing or whatever, is very epic and you can feel the evil.

  • I did the same! But to my bike....Thats grim...to cykle during the swedish winter!

  • Are you trve enough not to freeze your ass of?

  • Check out,,,OLD WAINDS-(Cold Mourning Of The Pale Moon)-\m/ \m/

  • still enchanting after all these years. the new stuff... its just not my type of sin

  • It's so wintry... so cold... grim snow trees...

  • o som deles é muito bom

    =]

  • the new versions, including this one, are still awesome for the most part...but this just has so much of a true black metal vibe to it that can't be replaced or recreated.

  • Stian Thorensen...... Genius....

  • He's decent. He did take a few of his better keyboard parts in this album from other people though. Like the piano bit of the first song and all of Sorgens Kammer.

  • pure melancholy, stormbast is dark poetry! The remasters is a huge massacre.

  • The Best Black Metal Album ever Made...... and An Of the Best Songs All the Time..................

  • very epic ;)

  • Looking for this song I stumbled upon the so called new wersion, what a crap.

  • i understand the idea of the remake, they wanted more depth and clarity which they did achieve but they compromised the creeping beauty in the rough original. it has a very precise and noticable pulse that the remake has not, maybe they are better players now, but this captures an emotion more than just music for me.

  • Comment removed

  • It is my speculation that theyre gonna be remaking For All Tid some time in the future.

  • ahhhh beautyful old song (1995)

  • Dimmu Borgir where amazing back then... now they are just another commercial band with nothing more to offer...

  • I agree, it is a pity that they have never released another album like Stormblast!

  • @ferox85 perhaps, but like metallica, you cant play for the elite forever and get any money when you get older. their is always another faster and heavier band, gotta ride it while you can, though it is a pity that the music always suffers the while

  • @ferox85

True, but i like em alot. :P

  • The Best all time Black metal album ever.... to me....

  • The original is way better. New version can't compensates the authentic, originality of this pure black metal song.

  • @AK4769er I agree the new one sounds empty and without feeling, this version is not the "Old" its the ORIGINAL and definitively the best!

  • @agares55

    2005

I prefer it aswell, as it is more melodic to me and polished.

  • i like this version

  • Dimmu Borgir(Norweigh), Arch Enemy(Sweden), Children of Bodom(Finland) damn gotta love Northern Europe right now.

  • Amorphis (Finland), Amon Amarth (Sweden), Mayhem (Norway), Kreator (Germany), Gorgoroth (Norway)

  • @Flyingbluewolverine - hell yes, especially since most of my bands come from Germany and Finland. LOL.

  • one of the best allbums of dimmu

  • i like both versions of the record and to me new dimmu is just extreme metal and not necessarily black but its still good but not as good as the old though

  • beautiful song
