  • ahahahahahaha@ these comments! Why would you look at this video if you don;t know what it is about?!

  • Rear knee Cranial Cruciate Ligament tears are VERY common in dogs these days (overbreeding, crappy toxic grocery store foods, over vaccinating by vets, etc).

This video shows the test a vet will do "drawer test" to feel if ligament is torn. Thanks for uploading.

Vets will tell you, you NEED to have surgery (bones cut, metal plates and screws for larger dogs)...its NOT true.

Look up "CONSERVATIVE MANAGEMENT" for dogs.... NO-surgery management of torn canine knee ligaments.

  • I agree with you, I´m having a similar situation with my mini Pinsher wich had a broken cruciate ligament 4 days ago and the vet recomended operation, but another vet told me to give him hidrotheraphy, walks on the beach sand and a healthy diet to allow his own body to supply the strengh, movility and recovery. It´s not a complete recovery but it´s an alternative that works great in cases like this. However I´m scared that the unstability he has on his knee causes him problems. Thanks.

  • mams, join the yahoogroup called CONSERVATIVE MANAGEMENT. It is devoted to heeling dogs cruciate ligament tear without surgery. We will help you there!

You need atleast 8 weeks of no exercize, no hydrotherapy. After that you might introduce a little activity VERY SLOWLY. There are many natural supplements to help.

    Yahoogroups: Conservative Management.

  • Thank you...thak you... thank you... so much, I really apreciate your help. My dog had that incident last december 16th, nowadays he is on a diet, taking slow walks on the beach sand, hydrotherapy and waiting for the next appointment with the Vet on monday 11th. It´s hard to keep my dog from running, walking and playing, he feels so good that even stands up on his legs, runs and walks fast, he is full of energy and I don´t know how to keep it from doing it.

  • mams, are u sure the cruciate ligament is torn? Is ur dog limping? Is ur dog on any pharmaceutical meds due to torn lig?

  • Lucky is not limping, he walks normally, he runs, sits and stands up on his backlegs. I don´t know what to think about it. He is not taking any medication at all, only a diet to loose some wheight. Next monday the doctor will tell me what to do, the medication he needs( if he needs some) . He is not in pain, not inflamation. I´m so scared,

  • mams, are we sure you are dealing with a CCL tear? WHAT incident happened Dec 16? WHy do u think Lucky has a CCL tear?

I wondered about meds bc sometimes vets give dogs with CCL tears non steroidal anti inflammatories (NSAIDS). Dog thinks its better and is more active which is NOT good.

DONT be scared! 1. This injury is NOT life threatening. 2. you DONT have to do what vets suggests. Remember MOST vets only know drugs and surgery. There are natural way of healing many conditions.

  • I´m not sure my friend!Dec 16th my dog wanted to climb up to the sofa and he couldn´t, he started crying so bad and couldn´t walk for some minutes. After that he started walking limping. Next day Dec 17th the vet examined him and make the drawer movent and told me my dog needs surgery, but he wasn´t in pain at all, just limping. He puts my dog on a diet because he was a little bit overweight and gave him not medication nor anti anflamatories because he didn´t need one so far.

  • The other vet I visit examined my dog as well and told me that he desagree in doing a surgery, he said his leg was flexing, aliened and moves at all directions without resistance or presence of pain nor complain. The vet agreed on a healthy diet and low impact excersice. He recomended me to walk my dog on the beach sand and do some swimming for15 days to see if the dog feels better with it. I have been following the vet´s instruction since then and My dog has improved a lot.

  • Today, my dog is doing things that I thought he couldn´t do afterhis incident on Dec 16th. He runs like crazy every time somebody knocks on the door, he plays a lot chasing the other dog, he stretches his legs as ussual, walks, goes under the bed and hide while playing and shows no pain at all nor difficulty or trouble with his leg.He continues with his diet, eats his measured portion of food twice a day and looks happy to me after all he´ve been through. I don´t know what to think.

  • This recovering is normal in cases like this? What happened here? Next monday is the next appointment with the vet, the second one I visited for a second opinion and told me not to go to surgery to see how my dog is doing after excersises and swimming. My dog has taken not medication of any kind, Is that correct? I think something is wrong here, I´m afraid that my dog didn´t receive the proper and right medical treatment for his injury when he needed it the most, from the very beggining.

  • Sometimes I feel guilty and frustrated because i don´t know what to to. I don´t want the surgery, he´s so tiny, and the surgery is complex and delicate. I know is going to be a living hell trying to keep my dog resting, quiet, in bed. He is so hyper and nervous, almost electric that I´m afraid he´ll injured is leg and lose the surgery and the whole thing turns in worse. Should I ask the vet for some medication or joint supplement to help him heal properly? Or let his own body to develop....

  • in a natural way what he needs to heal his injure? as the 2nd vet said..(.¨give him some time, put him on a diet, low impact excersice, no jumping or climbing, love and pacience. Dogs sometimes can heal naturally his own injuries and survive, the body is an amazing box of surprises¨)..I just don´t know what to do right now. I don´t want to make a mistake and complicate things by not taking the surgery as a solution, but My dog is telling me is is ok, and it shows so good.

  • I deeply appreciate your concern and attention, Thanks so much for your time. I´ll keep in touch to tell you more about what the vet said next monday. I hope I receive a positive answer from the vet about my dog´s recovering and recomends the joint supplement my dog needs. Thanks a lot for your support.

  • I must tell you that my dog is DRIVING ME CRAZY, he is acting like nothing bad had happened to his knee, he runs around the apartment chasing the other dog, walks his every day slow walks on the beach (sometimes he wants to escape and runs, pushing me to walk faster). I try to keep him calm at home but it´s hard. This is a tragedy to me, I don´t sleep thinking what is my dog doing at night while I´m resting.

  • is that a dead body????!!!!

  • it's a dog

  • its a dog lol

  • is that a skinny mans shoulder???wtf

  • I think its a dog

  • Its a dog lol

  • el movimiento de cajon tambien es positivo a la ruptura de lig cruzado caudal, aunque la ruptura de este es mucho menos comun que el lig cruzado craneal, siendo dificil diferenciar uno del del otro a través de este signo!!

  • lol i thought that was a really skinny mans shoulder, and then i watched it again :P

  • Ha Ha me too!!
