Okay, while what they did may not have been correct, they did do the right thing, just in the wrong manner.
To have the club not get the shot would be far more dangerous to more lives than having the average Albertan getting the shot, as while they may be in pique physical condition, they do a lot of travel across North America, thus they are not only heavily exposed to the illness, but they are also frequently in close contact with others. It was definitely the right move to get the vaccine.
These Flames players and their families should have apologized, instead they just say they understand why people are angry...Calgary Flames and your families: What you did was WRONG and you know it..! It is an INSULT to EVERY Canadian!
wow, way to be flames. Just because your an athlete and 'famous' doesnt give you the right to recive the vaccine without waiting in lnes while others all across alberta and canada are waiting hours in line to be denied the vaccine beacuse we have a shortage in our province and the rest of canada
Pretty shady of the canadian government to say they had enough vaccine for all citizens then cancel all the clinics when they couldnt get organized... thats the real problem here. The hockey teams have nothing to do with the mangled disorganization over the H1N1 clinic failures.
WAY TO GO FLAMES!!!... considering how much your team travels I think it is great that you all got the shot instead of spreading it around. If anyone on your team or staff had H1N1 then travelled throughout Canada or the US you could potentially be infecting thousands of people (airport workers, hotel workers, restaurant workers, thousands of fans and patrons of places etc you visit). Hopefully ALL teams and ANYONE that travels for aliving will get the shot.
That's not the issue. The fact still remains that the entire team and their families skipped line ups while hundreds waited. Sure, they are at risk because they travel so much, but why are they exempt from waiting like the rest of the human population? Why are their lives any more important than the next guy?
Calgary flames management knows full well that Canada has a socialized medical system. They knew they were jumping the public health system process and should be condemned for doing it, and stepping over the very people that support their business. The flames jersey has the Alberta Flag on its shoulder........this should be removed by request of the Alberta Government. Role models.....hardly.

Pretty cheap on part of the Flames to jump the cue, the Abbotsford Heat too. I could expect such behavior on part of the Leafs...
