  • poor eric ;( ;( ;(

  • I am proud of my Scandinavian background as well, so glad that they added a Viking character. The only problem is that Vikings didn't speak modern day Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish, they spoke Old Norse. The people of Iceland and The Faroe Islands still speak dialects of that language, which is different than the modern Scandinavian languages.

  • It's so great to finally hear some Swedish again! I love it when Alexander speaks Swedish. So hot! Sweden loves you, Skarsgård ;)

  • Who acts the father (the king)? His Swedish is really good.

  • So that babys erics sister nora? I wonder how she servived

  • @StephanieB1010 she didnt watch where he finds his mother

  • @Lunarlilly I know in this video she dint but in the new season comming out they said his sisters gonna be in the show so I was wondering how she must of survived this to be in season 5

  • @StephanieB1010 Nora was turned by Godric making her Eric's "sister" that way. Not realted by blood but through their maker :)

  • @StephanieB1010 the sister is made by Godric...his vampire sister

  • TB had much better wigs on Eric in S2-3 than in S1.

  • omg this really gave me a sense of how ancient eric and russel really are...i mean over 1000 years ago...thats insane

  • IMORRRGON!

  • It was Russell's biggest mistake to not kill Eric on the spot...and our greatest luck as well. xDD I love this flashback!

  • So what are these ancient and powerful vampires with nordic origins doing in fucking Louisiana??

  • @lobsterdfw1 lol good point

  • Does anybody else love the part at the beginning of the flashback where Eric is holding his infant sister? Big bad Eric Northman (I'm thinking season 1) cares about a little bitty baby. Dude....

  • my dad is 65 and on the palm of his hands on the pinkey fingers.theres big lumps he cant straighton the pinkeys out on his hands, doctors tell him it was common in vikings thay know this because of diging up vikings.the lumps get bigger with age.all the old men in my family have this. i saw this on tru blood it reminded me of what the doctors said. its crazy we are british but thought we were of irish roots, so looks we have viking blood spooky.u never know where your bloodline came from amazing

  • cant believe thy killed Tara,Jesus,Nan Flanigan, off and Debbie Pelt it was only a matter of time..but WTF with Killing Tara off?..i mean you see her taking a round in the head, but still this is TB we are talking about, they will probably give her Erics blood & she will heal but have absolutely no memory of who she is..which in her case would be a good thing!..and they wont be coming back cause her memories were splattered all over the wall!.Jesus..eh..Nan..eh dont really care about them.

  • I LOVE that I'm able to understand what they are saying :D ! - the great thing about being Scandinavian ^^ !

  • snot means soon in swedish? lol

  • @KeithWasHere1

    It's "snart"

  • @Akfilm92 oooooohh ok.

  • @KeithWasHere1 it's actually "snart", but it's pronounced almost like "snot" ;p

  • I love the fact that he's wearing a Thor's Hammer!

  • This is the best scene in whole True Blood

  • when i watched this i under stand why he wanted to keep godric alive he didnt want to lose anymore family

  • they should continoue the story in the past, it's exciting

  • ERic is bad ass

  • I wish the subtitles reflected what they're actually saying in Swedish. There's more to it.

  • @kebnabi What are they saying that the subtitles are not showing? Please share.

  • werewolves come from viking myth, but vampires are from slavic myth, would make more sense if he was polish instead of swedish, but doubt the girls would like him as much then!

  • Even as a human he was the ladies man. Hehe.

  • Vid Tors hammare, vilken bra scen!

I love the small Swedish/Scandinavian segments like this. I wonder if we'll get anymore in season 4 considering what happened to Eric in the last episode. :)

And it's good that Bill hasn't been forgotten and got another flashback in that episode.

Can't wait for the next episode!

  • has anyone noticed how erics mum looks alot like Pam?

  • Father: "My son, it's time you were betrothed"

    Eric: *snort*

He misread the instruction to be a line. XD

(yes, I'm aware that the "snort" actually means smt in swedish, it's just funny :-))

  • I want to know what happens to his mother's crown. It's very pretty.

  • O MY GOD I just realised:

Doesn't he still have his little sister???

  • @rockfairy91

I'm pretty sure that the baby would've cryed if it still had been alive.

    *POSSIBLE SPOILER*

Also I seem to recall Eric saying "You slaughtered my entire family...for a couple of goats" or some such to Russell Edgington as they were bathing in the sun.

  • @rockfairy91 No she was killed.

  • I feel for Eric, I really do but I still can't help falling in lust with him with that goat-maid *.*

  • that was gangster.

  • They sound like americans trying to speak swedish....

  • jävla varulvs fittor

  • Yeah, its swedish, im norwegian so i know. btw i doubt they talked so modern swedish at that age. real vikings talked norrønsk :P

  • holy crap, this show looks awesome!

  • The father could not be swedish, because he break accent very much. Maybe he is dane, I don´t know..... :)

But the mother is very swedish i hear.

  • bad russel !!!!! :P

  • Viking power!

  • Think I got a bit hyped now, lets watch a viking documentary.

  • Poor Eric. I loved seeing him as a human with a family he loved (and showing that even chicks in his time recognized him as a hottie with a body)

  • of course he spoke Swedish well, considering he is Swedish. Amazing scene.

  • Is someone able to tell me what's the song, band, singing or what ever, that starts at 3:30 when Russell appears?

Please, I really like this, and I am not able to find it anywhere....

  • @MorgainLaFey Yeah, I like it too! Sounds like a finnish-ugri or seto choir... similar to the beginnig music of Anna Karenina (1997). But eather way - it sets the mood for mystery and old northen times, when the woods of the north were filled with shamans and people really belived in the supernatural. Gives you the feel of eternity that a fictional creature, in the likes of a vampire, sees and experiences. For ex. Russell - from 'dark' heathen times to iPads. Blows ones mind, doesn't it?... :D

  • Yes he was speaking swedish. Pretty good actually

  • When Russel said Viking was he speaking it in Swedish?

  • @playstation444 I'm not sure, but most likely it is Swedish.

  • @arabianknight86 yes it was im swedish

du är en jävla mes jävla horunge

  • @playstation444 it is swedish :D

  • @playstation444 Not he said "viking" in english, In Swedish the "i" is longer.

  • @playstation444 Actually it sounded a lot like danish :) But it might be swedish ...

  • @playstation444 it is swedish he spoke i am from sweden

  • @playstation444

    Yes he did.

    Im Swedish

  • @playstation444 Yes, he is. I am from Sweden. It was fun seeing them talking in swedish for such a long time. It is usually just snippets, y' know?

  • @playstation444 Archaic Swedish.

  • @playstation444 yeah, it is swedish :3

  • @playstation444 yeah becuase at the time eric only knew Swdish

  • @playstation444 its swedish :D

  • @playstation444 I'm from Sweden and yes he's speaking Swedish when he says the word ''Viking'' :)

  • @playstation444 yes..but I'm not sure! he says probably "hjälte" that means "hero"..

  • @playstation444 Yes!I ask to a friend of mine that know very well the language.

Russel said "spela inte hjälte" :D

  • @ArwenUndomiel87 They shouldn't have used Swedish, though. They should have used Old Norse. But I realise that's too difficult. lol

  • @Albolu I suppose it was Swedish, I never say or write that it was surely Swedish!

I say that because Alexander is Swedish, the language seems Swedish and I've asked to a friend of mine who speaks Swedish :)

  • @Albolu They obviously used Swedish because it's Skarsgård's mother language. But to be as historically correct as possible, they should've talked Icelandic instead. If you look at Swedish runestones, the language they used resemble modern Icelandic quite a bit. Iceland hasn't had as many influences as the Scandinavian languages have since the Viking age, so it's a very interesting country.

  • When Eric sees his father´s crown is the best acting piece of Alex this season and, imo, the best of this season this far(3x8)

  • @memimgi I completely agree.
