  • Nice one man, just a little to offbeat. I got one of these babys for christmas. I just found its preset patterns about a minute ago. That shows my

  • excellent

  • question: is it possible to change the midi channel of each track on the qy70? for example: i want multiple tracks be triggered by one midi channel for multi-layer sounds. thanks

  • I love this one

  • good one

  • The QY70 is our favorite tool when we travel... even a brand new i-fone with the latest apps doesn't compare to it !

(u can get one for around 90€ second hand)

btw Great tune, it is not a caricature of what you can do with it.

  • Interesting! Got my QY100. Trying 2 get accompaniments to follow my keyboard playing w/left hand to make my keyboard perform like a Tyros arranger-type keyboard. I have the QY earphone out cable going into my keyboard audio-in jack and playing through the keyboards amplified monitors . I have my keyboard midi out cable to the QY midi in. QY setting Midi Sync=External, QYMidi Control=In. No Good. Settings correct? Am I supposed to add a 2nd midi cable going from QY out to keyboard midi in? Thx

  • nice tune...

    quite subtle

  • squarepusher uuses the big member of the qy series ..the qy 700

  • so what's a fair price for one of these bad boys?

  • get one cheap on ebay nowadays.

  • Pretty good, i need to get mine out and composing again, forgot i had it....doh!

  • im thinking about getting one of these....but i have a korg er1 and ea1...is this pointless?

  • acimorph you are a talented composer...now get rid of these kiddie toys. get yourself a sampler and create percussive sounds or at least filter, phase, flange the generic beats you have. it's time for you to step up your game a little. keep up the good work ;-)

  • LOL, kiddy toys?

The QY70 is the ONLY backwards and forwards compatible machine I own, I have new synths and samplers, and they don't compare to the quality of this machine.

I still port things I made 12 years ago with the QY70 onto my new machines.

  • In a 2001 interview in Future Music magazine, Luke Vibert (himself a QY70 user), claims that, quote -

"Squarepusher never uses a computer, not even for the real hardcore stuff. It all comes off a QY20 or 70."

  • Do you have the link to the interview?

  • The interview was in the May 2001 edition of Future Music.

  • @aporia23 yeah but he's probably fucking around saying that. I'm not surprised about no computers but I doubt most of his work uses any of the QY's. (early work was mostly done on 8-track etc.)

  • ok

then it's a really interesting machine...

    maybe i will buy one.

    cheers

  • good.

the drums also came from the qy?

    cheers

  • Yes.

    It's all QY70 sounds.

  • Cool :)

  • well done again.
