  • @change139 sir... please take your judgemental nature elsewhere.. i was hammered and the this beautiful frequency stole my attention.. you 15 yearold little prick drink a pint to yourself in 15mins have this beautiful conglomeration of musical notes and progressions and you try to type with your so called "propper grammar"... lol.. even though you are an ignorant child.. i still respect you and your stage of progression..

  • When Seasick Steve was four years old, his parents split up. An old man from Mississippi, called KC Douglas, who wrote the song Mercury Blues and used to play with Tommy Johnson, taught him to play guitar at age 8. He left home at 13, and spent many years living on the streets in the States. He used to travel long distances by hopping freights as a hobo.

And that Steve-O drom jackass is from Bosnia too,or Serbia, whatever. Just another imigrant.

  • @zerocooldeviation how was i meant to know THAT? i just remember being at a show and everyone chanted steve=o at him. i have no knowledge of bosnian names and meanings XD

  • @mellaman1234 damn right

  • @mellaman1234 i most assuredly guarantee you that he was....been there done that , i know the look.

  • @mellaman1234 a quote of his is "Hobos are people who move around looking for work, tramps are people who move around but don't look for work, and bums are people who don't move and don't work. I've been all three"

  • Sea Sick Steve is the shitz man!!!!!

  • better than being the "boss" and playing like a fuckin pop star

  • Ignorance is not a virtue.

Bruce never refers to himself as 'The Boss'. Indeed he hates the title.

    Try learning the facts.

  • no offence the boss is indeed not

  • probably my fave song of his. He's so much better solo than when he has people onstage with him IMO

  • And better than most listeners think. Here's a new classic. Simple and great, that's all.

  • He's more and less than everyone thinks. Stop projecting guys. He's playing a tune or two, that's all.

ima grow a beard and tht this dude is a full on PIMP forget dem in their long coats and females and tht this dude got his guitar and his fuckin lyrics .... fuckin legend

  • He's class but he's 67. hope he doesn't have another heart attack.

  • I wouldn't worry too much, Jon L Hooker was still playin an layin it down good in his 80s. Also my dad had 2 heart attacks in his late 60s but was still doin light workouts in the gym age 75 plus!

  • better than real class

  • Awesome! Real deal stuff!

  • the guy is the bollocks. i would say he is the best of his kind out there.

  • Its definitly between him and Pistol Petes

  • this dude is the easily the coolest hobo in the world, in 20 years history he's gonna set off a whole new blues genre history, what amazes me is he's got elements of robert johnson and an artist who has that can go a long way

  • steve is the fuckin man

  • this is proper blues this is the shit mate fucking love it

  • I just love the gentle smile throughout this set - just as he was breaking this really was a seminal performance, he knew what was happening... full crowd at a small venue ... sell out tours ever since, all the way Steve ....

  • met steve last year at a tiny social club in worcestershire,he was amazing and a really nice guy,and he wore his dungarees.

  • he has a new guitar? what happened to the 3 string trance wonder???!!

  • he's got like 4 different ones man

  • The box is called the "Mississippi Drum Machine" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Top blues!

Can't wait to see Steve live at the Barrowlands in Glasgow (UK).

  • what date is he playing?

  • is his 'mississipi' drum thing just a box? or is it micd

  • It's both, I think there is a mic inside the box, Because I've tried this same technique on a box and I couldn't get the same sound he does. But then again maybe it's a specially bass wood box.

  • or maybe its just a box... made of wood... lol

  • He has the wooden box and he has filled the box with foam, the but a mic in it. but it is quite hard to get his sound...

  • steve-i want mah damn DUNGAREES back

  • I agree!

My dad might be able to get him to Lillehammer (Norway) at the Blues Festival there next time (I think it's around easter).

  • Just attended a koncert with him. One of the best koncerts of my life. And I usually listen to heavy metal so I was quite supprised realy.

  • ive wriiten songs on open E with 3 strings but steve is just f#$king amazing, love him.

Have to get to see him soon.

Seems like a lovely guy too :)

What a hard life hes had but he got what he deserves there in the end :)

  • the hobo bit was in the 60she has been a record producer for years its not quite the straite out of the gutter story it appears

  • he became a producer in early 70s and then went on touring and playing with other blues musicians in the late 80s early 90's. at the age of 13 he left home...an then live on the streets until the 70s... he was born in the 1940s thats at least 10..15 years in poverty and even after he became a proucer it wasnt a stable job. as far as im concerned he did well to get "straight out of the gutter " and into the music buisness after 10 years on the streets.

  • "blues is easy to play but hard to feel" ... yah , i believe this man make me feel the blues . (is it a form of melancholy , as baudelaire said "joy of being sad" ) (but that's my blues , not your blues)

  • He proves that white men CAN play the blues!!

  • What the fuck kind of comment is this?

The blues is in "EVERYONE" with a soul that wants to express them self's Man come to the gray AREA and stop this black and white shit.

  • yes . blues is for everyone .

  • what ? every man can play the blues . you just need to feel it . he feels it .

  • Don't worry man, unlike everyone else I realise you're joking :-P

  • This guy is freaking awesome, and my step dad had a beard like this before he passed away.

    Rip

  • This man is a genious.

  • dont you think parts of his guitar playin sounds like a car accelerating chainging its gears

  • A lot of blues is like that really, more like trains i think since so much of it originated around them like u can hear in this song or a lot of older blues songs the guitar just sounds like a train chugging along, its really nice

  • This is totally awesome!

  • Awesome Music! This guys is kicking the shit out of southern blues and I have to go England to find it. There is something seriously wrong with the music industry in this country...

  • I think SeaSick may be up there with Angus Young. Or even some what better then Angus in the since it's a 3 string guitar :)

  • this one looks like it has all 6

  • sterotype Ireland?

I think its a bit to late for that, don't u think?

underage drinking does occur even if you come from the most Priviliged areas around.

ok i was exagerateing about the age of nine,i didnt satrt drinking until i was 17 and thats a fucking miricle since I AM FROM IRELAND.every weekend you see kids queing up outside the off-licences looking for someone to go in for them,

so dont be so ignorant to the fact.

    People like to drink

oh yeah castleknock knacker estate, yeah right

  • God I hope Steve plays here in the States.

  • took me all over two minutes to go and buy his last album after getting a blast from SS, Excellent.

  • buckfast aint hardcore......well i am irish

  • appreciate seasick steve! he is a legend!, jack white is a load of pish! copyist wanker! white stripes? brown pant stripes more like!

  • BUCKFAST IS AMAZING!!!

  • He is just fantastic. I've met him several times....He have had a hard life, maybe that's what make him so good? Steve has written several big hit's throug the years. And did you know he knew Janis Joplin in his young years?!

  • Steve has known many, many famous musicians he just never seems to go on about it!

I like that, as most people (musicians included) name drop like fuck these days.

  • well.....thats cos they cant admit they suck isnt it....

difference is, steve doesnt, so he doesn't need name fame

  • saw him last night, best gig ive ever been too!!

  • Me too at the carling academy newcastle he rules

  • haha, yeah, he was class! Loved that didleybow thing he was playing. He's got some mad stories. Cant wait to see him again

  • seen him on saturday the 27th wow he was so gud hehe

  • he seems so happy and shy when hes singing this hahaha mans crazy

we stole his wine last time we met him

think we will give him some buckfast in return

    this time

    xx
