Strong nostalgia. Walked this road hour after hour all night in August, 1970, during the splendid Perseid Meteor Shower, Estes park to The Store, trying to return to my job at Grand Lake Lodge that summer after a weekend in Denver. Gorgeous, but I was not dressed for it. Went hypothermic, huddled in a cleft of the rock and was rescued when crew arrived for work at Store after dawn. Unforgettable. Have never since returned but would love to do so. Blessings to all who read and watch and travel.
It was the greatest trip ever, loved ever moment of it and will never forget it.In fact I hope to live there soon with the man I love so very much... the air is very thin :-)
Exciting!! I remember it from 2001 when it just opened for the season first day (This was in May) and there was LOTS of snow! Exciting for this Florida girl! It was a gorgeous drive.
too bad its probably closed for the season tried to drive up it today and confronted with a road closed sign also looked at some nice snow clouds round mummy range
I've visited RMNP 3 times (I was in Denver on business) but never when Trail Ridge Road was open. Now I know what it looks like, someday I'll see it in person. Great video, thanks....
Wow this is really cool. I just went to Colorado for the first time this past July. We drove over Trail Ridge in the same direction(towards Grand Lake from Estes Park). This helps me remember what I saw (except most of the snow was melted by the time we went through). Thanks for the fun video.

Drove it in 1974. Very cool. Would love to do it again. Say, how come it is a square and distorted instead of 4/3 0r 16/9 aspect?
