I'd love if you guys did a video some time on both how some of these things work at a simple electronic level, and also how you come up with these? Are these mostly based off of synthesizer circuits and recreating them to affect video? Or is there an effect in mind before creating?
@v8media hi! there's a lot of info on our website about the technical details of the system, and we have some videos overviewing the functionality of the various modules here on this channel. as for your questions on inspiration, it's really a mixture of all the things you've mentioned. some are inspired by audio synthesizer circuits, some by classic television gear and vintage video synthesizers, others are inspired by specific "what ifs" or ideas for effects that occur to us.
This is truely incredible. The combinational patterns derived from various logic functions, as well as additional colour combinations is what makes analogue video synthesis so outstanding and unique. The XOR (exclusive OR) function makes possible EMS Spectron-like modulations and skewed checkerboard patterns and moire variations. I am truely impressed by this exploration. It is outstanding to behold.
