@Magnet108 ....Its with "YA MUM"...........Im sure They/Him/Her would appologise to you all....for not comforming to your "Generic, Music-Making Handbook". But the pages on putting drops into tunes was difficult to read as it was covered in saliva from manual lickers!!!!!!! Im fairly sure its about the music, and not doing what everyone else does! DO YOUR OWN THING!
Il suffit d'un casque dans les oreilles, les bass à fond, les yeux fermés, dehors en pleine tempête, comme si le temps s'était arrêté, se laisser porter.
Allow me to elaborate. There's a slight wobble that seems to appear sporadically, but no drop. I don't know exactly what elements are required to be considered dubstep, which is why I asked.
Genres are only words, used to describe a particular type of music. So if you are describing music, you must be describing it to someone. If that person understands what you mean by "dubstep" then job done. If not you will need a plan B. Most artist claim to span genres any way. So why get hung up on what type of music something is, and just enjoy it. To me it sounds like, Space step with a bit of future old skoool, and slight bubble swamp ambience
@mlissnemlissne I would call the original dubstep aswell then. the wobble is not a requirement, as the typical woble of dubstep came long after the genre was born. the most specific thing about dubstep is it's beat. a somewhere between 136 and 150 bpm (most of the time), but it only seems half as fast. it's a typical 2-step rythm really. based on the same paterns as breakbeat and drum and bass, it's just MUCH slower.
@kazaamjt Can you give me an example of early dubstep? Thanks for your reply. I'm glad some of the comments on here contributed to some sort of conversation beyond the typical "2 people like Justin Bieber," or "Filthier than my sister's tampon" stuff.
@mlissnemlissne sure, peverelist is one, he still makes dubstep, and does a great job at it, in my opinion. another good one is pinch.
here's one of his tracks: /watch?v=MYCN9cDCzKU
he has that real dub feel, many people are liking brostep nowadays, the filthy, same wobbles over and over again, not too much my thing. other more known artist that made dubstep like I described are coki or skream.
skreams classic, pretty much my al time favourite: /watch?v=D6pTSGvp7T8
@mlissnemlissne the oldest tracks I can remember date back to 2001, obviously those sounded totaly different from what is called dubstep these days, it was calmer and darker, not so much trying to be filthy, but being deep and floating was what they tried back then. hope it helped you out a bit.
@M00SAK when life gives you a song, you make a awsome dubstep remix not lemonade, and that was a awsome one
