can you tell me how you got BF2 to work on your M1530? Every time I start the game it goes to a black screen and then back to my desktop. No error or anything. Ive tried everything.

It's because the screen runs at 63hz, and BF wants to start at 60hz as default and crashes.

Go to my computer > C:drive > Users > (your user) > my documents > BF2 > profiles > default. There is a video.con file there, open a notepad document and drag the video.con file into it. Now edit

the screen resolution line to 63hz instead of 60 hz and save the notepad doc, that should do it. good luck.

it should work if you have the same setup as me. check if the battery settings are on high performance. and make sure youre plugged into power.

I have an XPS M1530 With 2.5 ghz processor, 1680*1050 screen, 8600M GT, 3gb ram, 200 gb 7200 rpm hard drive and Vista Ultimate.

U needed to upgrade ur laptop, why did u buy with 1280*800? thats an odd setting. I RUN BF2 MAX OUT BEFORE THE LAPTOP BROKE DOWN.

HOWEVER I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE GAME CRASHING 2 MIN INTO MULTIPLAYER GAMEPLAY. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

i can play it on max. i just tested it out on medium. and about the 1280 800 screen, i dont really need that good of a screen. the icons and stuff would be too small on native res for me. only problem is i dont like the glossy.

yea i was on medium. not sure about the frame rate though. how do i check it? lol. i just play and its smooth. but since this video i have played on maximum i believe and it barely lags at all. i think i play on 1024x800? or was it 1280x800? not sure.
