the whole ide of BM was never to be big!!!!!!! under ground......!!!!!!!!!!!! although some of the bands decided to suck dick and betray thier roots cough cradel .. cough .. dimmu... cough both good bands though... but in the bigger percpective they are making money playing the music they love and my band are still having to pay to play black metal but i never had any aporitions of making money.........................­......... but im ranting.... god song, prefer lethargy

Black Metal is almost dead already. If there were no more bands keeping the old traditions of it it was now dead for sure. But I don't think this song here is a good example. "Taking a new turn" would mean to act absolutely against one of the basic ideas in black metal - nostalgia and the fact that you should not care about being functional for the modern world.

Some time ago I saw "Dimmu Borgir" called "the Black Metal Gods". And that's only one example for the death of BM. Most bands who call themselves are split-up, do not play BM anymore, or have never played good BM. Well, I said almost. There are some who still have potential. In general I don't really care about if something is BM or not, but don't call it BM if it is not ony to rake in money.
