Intersting, i just found an earlier version og this song by Peter G. It's interesting to hear how the older, seasoned artist performs this song (quieter & with more sentiment, less dynamics.But no less powerful).Very much like life. the young man screams, the older man whispers...but both deliver the message. Must say, I like how Bette Midler changes the lyric..."Drink up, drink up to humankind" (gives .more hope)

I agree with all the positive posts. I'm so glad that he's still able to hit those high notes all these years later. I only wish he would release a quality remaster of the original version of HCTF that he recorded back in '77. Another interesting idea would be to re-record it and pull out the orchestral stops on this song - not unlike what he's done in Scratch My Back.
