I'll use the simpliest example I can think. Let's say I tie a string to a grenade pin and tie the grenade the other end of the string to two opposite posts. The string is pulled when stepped on or dragged and will pull out the grenade pin, therefore your trap is set.

There's a reason it is called a TRIPwire, the point isn't that you just nudge the string a little and you blow yourself to hell, but you trip over it. And a human body, and most certainly with combat gear, is much more than 5 KG of pulling force when it trips.

@xXDYNAMiiC alot of times the grenade would be placed in a cup to hold the spoon leaver thingy down, then the pin can be removed safely. trip wire would pull the grenade out of the cup, way less force needed and boom. simple but effective. no cup use a wheight or similar object.

@xXDYNAMiiC simple, you tie a cup to a tree, pull the pin on a gren (and cook it if you experienced enough), hold down the safety lever, put the gren in the cup to hold the safety lever in place, tie a string to the gren (make sure you don't tie it down a the safety lever), and tie the other end of the string to another tree, and cover everything (except the srting) in leves or bark to hide it. when someone walks in between the two trees, they'll TRIP on the wire/string and fall. to be cont...

@xXDYNAMiiC while that happens, the gren will be pulled out of the cup and triggered. they will have at most 4-5 second (less if you cooked the grenade) to get at least 15 feet away (15 feet is the kill radius, 45 feet is the injuring radius) before the gren blows, either way, they won't make it because they will have to get up and if they were carrying a lot of equipment, they will definitely die.

What about making an artificial (strong but light weight) spiderweb nylon to use as trip wire- 99.9% of people will just push spiderwebs out of the way. Could be used to set off traps. Could be set at waist height yet not detected as a trap.
