Is it possible to move the two facing pages further apart? I find that having them right next to each other is very annoying as I end up bleeding objects onto the facing pages when I don't want to.

If you press "t" it also takes you to type tool. Another cool trick is to click 3 times in a text box and it will select all the text. Click twice and the entire line. Very useful for moving or selecting content.
