Patricia is a wonderful artist, even when she has to sing a minor composer like Puccini (I know, some people would like to kill me for that, but I´m sorry, music in twentieth century would be the same without him). People like Alagna would have to learn a lot of musicans (yes, that´s the word) like Petibon.
In my opinion her voice has gained much more wormth and passion. She sounds more lyrically then in other roles. I think it´s amazing how different she can use her voice and how many colours she has!
1. All the moving around is enough to make anyone seasick.
2. She does not get the aria. This aria is about hidden passions & dreams, not about exposing your hidden pleasure for all the world to see. In one word: Subtlety.
i actually agree with u. Her timbre is beautiful and she has the appropriate weight in her voice for this. But she did move around too much and the C even though was beautifuly placed was not high enough
Question de style peut être. Pour exemple, Annick Massis et autres Dessay ont réussi un tour de force oh combien remarquable. Bref, j'attends de voir et d'entendre sur scène son évolution. Car ses qualités sont immenses.
Thanks for your comment especially because, according to your profile, you are a French speaker expatriated in the UK ! You may also want to watch the translation of the June Andersons radio interview in Geneva: that really was something and I still am unable to translate in English (with the sense we have in French and you will understand) "les chevaux de bataille"!!
Hmmm that would be a tricky one indeed. *thinks* there is an expression in english "pick your/a battle" when it comes to chose what you actually care about and defend. So you could maybe modify the sentence so you can use that. pas mon cheval de bataille = not a battle i chose to pick. HOpe that helps :)
great!

Oh god, where to start?

2. She does not get the aria. This aria is about hidden passions & dreams, not about exposing your hidden pleasure for all the world to see. In one word: Subtlety.
3. The high C was not a high C.

Fin de phrases douteuses et une voix qui, à mon avis, n'a rien à faire dans puccini. 1/5.
