It's enough to suit Game with great action but of course, trying the old ones are always okay.

i dont even care about most ppl bashing this game. its incomplete but if SNK takes time to add DLC such as extra chars and stages, it'll blow the competition out the way. i play it all the time, even tho blazblue and sf4 are in my posession. ill probably make those reviews.....

How could you nvr play King of Fighters? Honestly their are much better versions, try to out from the archives too, then u'll c how bad this one is. Still saddened for Neo Geo!

i really like this game but on the same note, I think it could have had at least 30 characters on it. A lot of the pred-a-ces-sors had more characters. I also believe they should have added the online clan adaption to the xbox 360. If it had those things i would easily give it a 10.(ps could've had more stages:)

ok some guy's comment got removed jdigital that's who it was... well he said we was with me on whatever i said but haha he wasn't. he said 3rd strike tried too hard...hahahah mann. he was right in saying fatal fury wasn't as nearly as good as SFII though, but it being better than 3rd strike? c'mon, i know FF is classic and all but the controls were sloppy, unpolished. all of the early snk games, usually 1st in series (AOF, WH) were fun but issues as far as gameplay.

this game is fun. there is only 5 stages but the most important thing is quality. my favorite stage and music is France.

it's in 2D and 2D fighting games are always better( Street fighter 4 is a exception). one of the only flaw of this game is that there is no story in the arcade mode to learn more about the characters like the last king of fighters games and the AI is too easy for a hardcore fan of fighting games. anyway this KOF feels different and the quality of this game is high. 9/10

Blazblue, KOF XII, Street Fighter IV and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom are all awesome. Playing all of them like crazy. KOF XII should have had Mai and Yuri in it though. Can't wait for Tekken 6 in October. Wish some kind of patch would come out for Virtua Fighter 5r via DLC.

no blazblue isnt laggy, then i get this and omg ur lucky if u get one smooth fight, but other than the online i rather play this over BB cause the critical counter gets intense lol, but yea if the online gets fixed then it beat blazblue but theyre 2 whole different type of fighters so yea u cant really compare them

Yeah I know it is. But from rumors I hear on youtube just down this game. It just looks way too awesome to only get 7.9. Maybe 8.6 or 8.9 for the less characters and stages. Either way i should have this game by next week.

well actually you might be a little disappointed. they gameplay is slowed down a tad. if you were looking for hardcore rushdown you might not like it. The only thing i can think of now that coul change is the gaurd attack.

This game is a serious dissapointment. no chizuru, Mai, foxy, angel, kula, yamazaki, jhun, maxima, whip, chris or yashiro. the damn manual has VERY little helpful info on the game. it's like they want you to discover the moves accident. They should've done something about the lag issue as well. The game just feel half-assed like they were scared to put full financial support into it. save your money for blazblue because this isn't worth 50$ no matter how much of a fan you are.

KOF '98 Ultimate Match has 64 characters.

KOF 2002 Unlimited Match has 66 characters.

Those are the biggest rosters in any KOF game.

KOF veteran here too since KOF 94. I have KOF 2002 on Dreamcast. 39 characters available from the start. Which version has 66 characters? Do you play MUGEN games too?

Finally. Someone who doesn't play MUGEN. lol Yeah that "No Mai, No Buy" stuff has been quite common. People are going crazy with Andy's Self-Proclaimed Wife not being in the game. Also, people are so mad that the main cast from the NESTs saga are no shows either. Besides the lack of (popular)characters, you what I think the problem it is? People hate Ash. They just do. Well, most of the people in the Western world do. lol He's actually one of my favorite characters. Along with Kyo and Athena.

So many people don't like the idea of this very flamboyant character making a mockery of the main ones. Personally, I think it adds cool story progression(ironic that there's no story in XII). I know it's not nesessary for a fighter but it does make a difference. So much so, that they changed an entire moveset for a character(Iori). When I played as him, Iori was far from watered down though. His reach is insanely long now and his special moves seem to connect very well from command moves.

Iori still a great character...He's just different now. He's better. Even if he doesn't have he kick-ass flames any more. I just wish Chizuru could still fight. Maybe they can bring her back with DLC. The brought Mature back and she's dead. lol Well, XII is a dream match.

I hear ya. But he does feel kind of watered down with some of his really cool moves now gone. I am still using Iori anyway. Getting used to his new moves and things seem to be coming together nicely. Iori has always been one of my favorites. I miss Yuri. Her spunk always gave the KOF games a lot of personality. By the way, I actually like Ash even though I am from the "Western World", lol. I have always been a fan of Kyo and Athena. But I do miss Chang, Rugal and Choi. Great feedback man.

I love Rugal. That guy just won't die. I never really played as Chang/Choi until Capcom vs. SNK 2. It was cool how they were a team. Also, I think Yuri is hilarious. It's funny how sometimes Ryo seems to be embarrassed to be her brother. Weren't some of her moves making fun of Ryu? lol Kyo didn't get much of a change but Athena Psycho Soilder outfit is the best. I also love her cuteness factor now, even if so many others hate it and call her fat. When I get the console version I'll show them lol

I agree with you. I like Athena's cuteness factor. I don't think she is fat. Rugal was always awesome. I remember fighting against Omega Rugal in one of the KOF games. God Rugal in Capcom vs. SNK 2 was something to recon with too. I still remember that crazy "Boss Battle Mode" on Capcom vs. SNK 2. I remember being in a daze after finally beating it; after staying up all night, lol. Yuri is definitely one of my favorites. She did make fun with some of her moves. Love Chang's win poses.

I don't know how many times I got frustrated trying to beat God Rugal and Shin Akuma. It was mind-numbing. lol I think Capcom did a good job with that game though. I almost passed out when I heard the news. All this talk about Rugal and CvS2 makes me wish Vice was in KOF XII. I liked her more than Mature. God I miss her. lol

well KOF XII's character list is the smallest in the whole series, and apparently one of the reasons why they didnt include as much was that they didnt have enough time.

While I really did appreciate the fact that you kept it simple and didn't over-analyze everything like every other reviewer out there, I did think you could have been more critical. The graphics on the characters are very jagged and seem like they don't fit in with this generation. I love 2D as much as the next guy but there could have been more work in this DEPT. Yeah, there is a little jagginess to the characters. The characters could have been a little cleaner like in Blazblue. But, with such a stellar upgrade to the KOF franchise, I will not complain. Just can't stop looking at those stunning background stages, lol. Hard to figure out why they chose not to have Mai in the game. She is most of most popular characters. Rock Howard would have sweet. Rugal, Chang, Yuri and Choi would have been cool too. Maybe more characters will come through DLC.

Bought "The King of Fighters XII" for PS3 Friday afternoon at Gamestop. Been a fighting game fan since the 80's. So I am a veteran. I had high anticipation for this game. I was not let down either. Pros: awesome high resolution 2-D hand drawn big characters and stunning backgrounds, great gameplay, online. Cons: only a handful of stages, watered down characters i.e. Iori, no boss characters, some favorites like Mai and Yuri absent. Overall, I give it an 8/10. Great rebirth for KOF franchise.

With KOF XII, Blazblue, Street Fighter IV, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny (hope it turns out good), Samurai Shodown Anthology, Soul Calibur IV, Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and of course Tekken 6 in October, companies are keeping the fighting game genre alive and fresh. Hope a new Dead or Alive and Virtua Fighter come out as well. Doubt we will ever get a new Darkstalkers aka Vampire game. Ed Boon still wants Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter.

So far I like BlazBlue more. I am a big fan of artwork and music and I feel that BlazBlue dominates in both of those territories. I do like the online mode mor on king of fighters. But I like both games. Thanks for watching the review.
