What joy to have a soul mate like Rookie and my Hershey. Hershey was my 13 1/2 year old Lab Mix. She died of cancer, Feb 2008. She saw me through two bouts of breast cancer, with love and understanding like no one else could. When I lost her last year, I felt like I had lost a part of my heart. I'll always love her, just as Carolyn will always love Rookie! They're both waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for us. What a beautiful thought!

He was such a beautiful dog, it's so sad to think the world lost another great one. I've also watched "You're the one that I want" dozens of times. I lost my black Lab in Feb08 to a sudden illness, taken ill and gone in three days, we didn't know how we would cope, but we have two babies now, both black Labby girls. You can't replace them but you crave their loving presence like a drug, We couldn't stay dogless for long. Hugs to you Carolyn and love to you Rookie old pal.

I lost the "love of my life", my Eskie Nikki Churchill, 2 months ago, had to put her down, at the age of 15, so I know there are NO words to help at this time. Not only was Carolyn's life enriched because of Rookie, but so were the lives of his fans. I know he's romping in the grass at the Bridge with Nikki. Forever Loved, Forever Missed.

I don't think I will be able to live without a GSD, even though I have many other dogs. Where are you in Germany? I lived in Frankfurt for two years (88-90) and am so mad that I didn't visit Rottweil because Rottweilers are now my favorite breed (along with GSD). Be strong.

Rookie had some health issues surface this year. Despite the overwhelming odds he has triumphed over each with his amazing attitude for life. What joy to have a soul mate like Rookie and my Hershey. Hershey was my 13 1/2 year old Lab Mix. She died of cancer, Feb 2008. She saw me through two bouts of breast cancer, with love and understanding like no one else could. When I lost her last year, I felt like I had lost a part of my heart. I'll always love her, just as Carolyn will always love Rookie! They're both waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for us. What a beautiful thought!

I only recently knew that Rookie had left this world and even only knowing him by videos I felt a big loss had happened.
Only few people know what is to lose that special companion and working friend.
But for sure he will always be remember across the world by his immense joy and working skills.

He was such a beautiful dog, it's so sad to think the world lost another great one. I've also watched "You're the one that I want" dozens of times. I lost my black Lab in Feb08 to a sudden illness, taken ill and gone in three days, we didn't know how we would cope, but we have two babies now, both black Labby girls. You can't replace them but you crave their loving presence like a drug, We couldn't stay dogless for long. Hugs to you Carolyn and love to you Rookie old pal.

Rookie is such a gorgeous dog! He looks like he was having so much fun too. The bond you had with him must have been something special - and it shows! I often watch videos of Rookie for inspiration in training my own dogs (Golden and GSD).

To Carolyn, I just saw this great Tribute Video of you and Rookie and I am so sad that you lost your sweet Rookie. I have watched your video's all the time of how great the two of you are and how Rookie is so amazing. I cried so much watching this and the song goes so well to such a wonderful tribute to the great performances and how much love was between the two of you. Our Golden is 3 years old and she gives us such love as we give her.

This video is absolutely amazing. My gosh I cried my eyes out while watching it...tears of happiness at Rookie's greatness and tears of sadness for your loss. I know exactly what its like to lose one of these babies..I was there back in April of this year. The world is less Golden without Rookie in it. I have been tearing up all day just thinking of the pain that the talented and giving Carolyn is going through. I will never forget Rookie. They were lucky to have each other and we were lucky that they shared the beauty and joy with us. I send my most heartfelt condolences to Carolyn and the rest of Rookie's family.

I was sent this video several years again and saw such a beautiful relationship between the two of you. I was so amazed at the talent of Rookie and watched over and over with amazement. Then today, something brought me back again to this video. Carolyn's Connection with Rookie brings tears to my eyes every time I see one of their performances. I've watched the "you're the one that I want" 500 times.
I lost the "love of my life", my Eskie Nikki Churchill, 2 months ago, had to put her down, at the age of 15, so I know there are NO words to help at this time. Not only was Carolyn's life enriched because of Rookie, but so were the lives of his fans. I know he's romping in the grass at the Bridge with Nikki. Forever Loved, Forever Missed.

I have never seen Rookie before until a friend of mine sent me a You Tube clip of the Grease performance and then I watched this clip and cried.
I am actually speechless but the one thing that comes to mind is that all animals deserve this much love and devotion. That is all they want and we get so much in return.

Dear Stuka1963, The song is "I Will Remember You" by Amy Grant. I, too, just lost my 12 year old GSD to heart cancer on 21 Feb. The song is wonderful for remembering my Dixie. I don't think I will be able to live without a GSD, even though I have many other dogs. Where are you in Germany? I lived in Frankfurt for two years (88-90) and am so mad that I didn't visit Rottweil because Rottweilers are now my favorite breed (along with GSD). Be strong.

hi stuka - long live Bessi. i feel your pain, we lost our loving golden, Maggie, almost 2 years ago and i swear i still hear her "click-click" nails on our wood floors. we miss her dearly. she looked JUST like Rookie and was bright and active like he is, so this video was lovely to watch. soon we will be welcoming a new Golden in our lives and the circle will begin again. the artist who sang the song is Amy Grant and the song is called "I Will Remember You." take care and grieve to heal.

From Californi, USA, I'm so sorry. I lost my Cocker Spaniel of 21 years and cried for a week. I had her longer than my children and that was 15 years ago. I still miss her but how I have a 3 year old Golden Retriever and a 2 year old Rottweiler. Now they're my kids too. Keep your heart open for another puppy, even though none can take Bessi's place, you'll find room for more love. Violet2048

Rookie personifies the heart and spirit of a true CHAMPION. I have always watched your videos with nothing but a smile on my face, who can help but smile watching the two of you having such fun together. Today I watch this one with a small smile and with tears. My own Bossco was a Golden R Black lab mix. Looking like a very oversized Flat coat. Boss too had that spark, of brains, love and joy, he was a Therapy Dog and I lost him to cancer to at 14.

Rookie had some health issues surface this year. Despite the overwhelming odds he has triumphed over each with his amazing attitude for life. The most important lesson he has taught me has been to live in the moment as he does. Without this lesson my days would have been much darker filled with worry and fear. 9/27/2007 Carolyn posted to a group that Rookie was just diagnosed with an aggressive malignat tumor. Please keep him and Carolyn and all of us who have fallen in love with Rookie by watching videos in your prayers.

This as with all of Carolyn and Rookie videos just makes me cry so hard..you can just see the love between the two of them. I am so sad to read of Rookies illness.

i love this vid... i remember seeing them on pet star... they are so awesome, i love dogs so much, i always say that of the last 100 people i've met, i liked about 4 or 5... of the last 100 dogs i've met, i think i liked every one of them
