@jiujitsubuddah oh no prob, but I could still answer that for you, in California there were concerns that ferrets could affect the environment detrimentally (something to do with becoming feral, and damaging agriculture and other native animals), so they made a law that prevent pet owners to buy, own or house ferrets. Hawaii and California are the only 2 states in the US that ban ferrets.

I had a ferret, he was a dick, he'd bite me every chance It got, it got to the point where he even bit my eyelid (which was the final straw) so I had to give him away, very cute animals, but after all that I don't think i'll be adopting one as a pet anytime soon, Very cute ferret though.

Also I heard they can die if they don't mate when in heat, i believe that's in wikipedia.
