  • actually its fairly simple to understand.

  • Thank you

  • uuggghhh i miss the old minecart days.....detector/powered rails are a pain in the ass....

  • @Srlancelot39 yeah... me too. I haven't played much at all since the 1.7 update, and i think i may like the adventure update with the whole nutrition system even less.

  • thank you soooo much. i purchase minecraft a few days ago and i am struggling with the redstone circuitry. been trying to make a way to have a track direction switch that works from multiple locations; this is perfect. of course you said it wasn't your brainchild, but regardless, thank you.

  • @Kochopsticks11 purchased

  • @Kochopsticks11 you're welcome! I didn't "invent" the XOR logic gate but as far as I can tell I was the first to use it like this.

  • Many thanks for the tutorial, Setting up a railway branch from the mainline will be much easier now :)

  • Thanks it really helped me on my friends server!

  • thanks. The family been trying to do this recently and couldn't figure it out

  • Wait, can u use detector rails instead of switches?

  • @fixeddodgeball well, yeah, but 1) detector rails will activate everytime you pass over them so you don't really have a choice with them and 2) this was before detector rails.

  • There is a problem, lets say u want to go straight?

  • @EverthingsApple 1 of the 4 sides has to be redstone. check out the end of the video to see how to continue if the redstone is on your left or right.

  • @sirkyle138 I dont quite understand. Do u think you could explain more? Sorry for being a pest lol

  • @EverthingsApple Almighty Bob explains switchtrack very well. check his link in the description.

  • How do you make the tracks

  • @TheTedger Its 6 iron and a stick. Google "Minecraft Crafting wiki" That'll tell you everything you can craft ;)

  • yea..it's about the size of a car...

    LOL

  • is there a way to make it where the current goes over the track and still switchable

  • @94885haha ? i have a little bridge that I made for the redstone to cross the track. is that what you're asking? track technically occupies a cube and so does redstone, so they can't occupy the same cube.

  • Hey, lol i dont have alot of iron so i cant make this much track, any tips u can give me for getting alot of iron, =/??

  • @vante379 Iron is most common between level 67 (5 blocks below sea level) and level 6. Branch mining (run a youtube search if you don't know what that is) at these levels would yield the most iron. I would recommend doing it at down around level 12-14, then you're more likely to find diamonds too. Use iron iron or diamond picks. Everthing goes much faster when you do. g/l!

  • This was exactly what I needed >_> many thanks good sir.

  • -eye twitches- Umm.. think you killed my brain a little there. But, I copied the design and works wonderfully. I've no idea -how- it works, but it does, so thanks! Now I am going to try to figure out how to get redstone torches on both sides of the track, to signal more clearly which direction you will be taking.

  • Thank you for this video illustration, it really helped me out while I was wondering about my T intersections on our SMP server. Unfortunately, I can't use it, because of the bug known as the "red stone torch burn out". After a certain number of uses, the torches won't go lit again. And what's more, the entire block it stood on is now disabled... I hope it get fixed so I can enjoy what you helped me create! So thanks a lot!

  • Kyle's extent of knowledge in redstone "It's about the size of a car. xD

  • what do u use to dig res stone

  • @hopelessmachines iron or diamond pickax.

  • how to u get the weagon to go so fast all the time, it doesnt stop, why ? how ? xD

  • @CrazyBrainDead by using booster tracks. Check out AlmtyBob's videos in the link in the description.

  • @sirkyle138 Thanks xD nice vid too. :D

  • would you show us how to make it?

  • @marshmellow303 see 4:20 for how to make the gate and 3:10 for how to wire the first couple switches. you'll have to be creative in how you fit both the gates in your world. if you're having problems post a video showing me your setup. you can download a free version of fraps and edit it together with windows movie maker (also free).

  • @sirkyle138 thanks!!!! going back and watching 3:10-4:20 was really helpfull.

  • I get it, awesome.

When you flip the switch, it changes the other one's signal to stop it from giving power to the redstone.

Not what i was looking for, but very instructive!

  • @Tortue123 what are you looking for?

  • @sirkyle138 I was looking for an automatic track switching with a plate, because when I come in from one of the directions, I always wanna go the same way.

I tried a pressure plate on the track, but the cart stops. I just realized I would need a booster track besides, with the pressure plate on the booster track!

Most of my tracks are underground, but I decided do make some parts outside... Now If i could only stop creepers from infesting in my tunnels q_q.

  • @Tortue123 i have an idea on how you could do that. one of my first attempts at switching tracks on the go involved a "guaranteed return" track. basically if a straight track dumps into a bend it will continue the way it was going. So you just funnel 3 or 4 tracks into one. let me know if you want me to make a quick demo video for you.

  • why doent anybody make comments?

  • @10BITable i don't know! i guess <400 views is still pretty young for a youtube video tho... btw you can grow trees indoors in you give the sapling 1) plenty of room to grow and 2) a peice of glass directly over it so it can get sunlight. it doesn't need water.

  • @sirkyle138

    cool :D

does lightstone or do torches work too?

i only thought becuse i watched many vids that explained those things and i only understood it here xD

  • @10BITable if you want to grow crops you can use sunlight (glass in the ceiling) or torches (i think lightstone will work too, but since it's so hard to get I only use lightstone underwater). torches won't work for trees.

  • @sirkyle138 I read somewhere you can do it with a torch. Place it directly besides the sapling. it will give enough light (lvl 10 light).

So all you need is room and a torch

  • @Tortue123 interesting. i'll try it. I've tried it with several torches near the sapling and it didn't work. Never tried it with the torch right next to the sapling tho...

  • @Tortue123 it works! Just tried it! thanks for the info!

  • Extremely helpful and simple tutorial. Thank you *bow*

  • nice tutorial i got most things :P
