  • I didn't pay for any of my Metallica songs. Proud too.

  • I only download live Metallica shows. Now what!

  • To travel back in time and inform Lars that he was right about everything

    ...

  • everyone is a better drummer than Lars Ulrich

  • This is fucking ridiculous, people who illegally download music SHOULD be sued. It costs around $30,000 to make a very very low-end album, that means that a band needs to make at least that much out of the album to ever be able to make an album again.

  • @skiiddo It costs around $0 to compose an album, it costs around $1 to replicate and print a CD and album prints, it costs around $0.112 for 1 kWh of electricity, it costs a few beers and some kitty litter for a practice session, it costs around 2200 kJ for a good night's sleep.

It costs your body and mind to attain fame and popularity, it costs your heart and soul to attain profits and power, it costs your life and music to sign a contract with the devil.

Fight the system, not the music.

  • this is going to far about metallica so metal up your ass

  • this is funny

  • I stole this song.

  • i love these man.. i think there damn good 5 stars.. that madonnna looks dead accurate...lol lars lookin gay as usual

  • lol who uses fucking napster anymore? lol!

  • why thu fuck is lars wearing a diaper???

  • jason's so badass here :P

  • Lehdelellll Bladaledadeledeledel PRUUUUUUNNNEESSSS!!!!!!

  • james hetfield was bad ...

  • who the fuck is that at 1:18

  • @loonie26 It's I believe Jason Newsted, and a 'mexican house boy' from a previous video they made. Look up 'Napster Bad' video to see him.

  • @boxerjr713 yeah, but that looked more like what james looks like now lol. and I saw the houseboy thing

  • wtf newsted dont look like that

  • James sounded more like Lemmy...

  • wat about ipod and apple

  • wat about ipod and apple

  • poor krik

  • The only people bitch about the Napster thing is because they aren't the ones making the music. the only selfish fucks here are the ones blaming Metallica.

  • Pirating ROCKS!

  • If anything, this technology brings a little more justification to the world, because people out there are starving and homless. It's pretty unfair that people get to sit around singing and writing songs to make money for their own selfish need of owning a 3rd private jet, while there's a lot of starving children in Africa infected with AIDS. Tough shit artists, get your shovels, and start digging ditches. Do some real work in your life for once.

  • Hahaha! Eminem was the best part :p haha!

  • poor kirk

kirk: im ready for do this thing... guys?? fuck!!!!

  • I don't know why anyone wanted to download any of their 90s shit anyway. The 80s albums were great and then they sold out and appealed to the mainstream with the Black Album and went on to become a bunch of egotistical assholes playing alternative rock (Load and ReLoad). Not even metal. Their return to metal, St. Failure, was a trainwreck and Death Fagnetic wasn't any better.

  • hetfield sounds more like lemmy....

  • IMA BUY ride the lightning album

  • the prunes made me laugh SO HARD lol

  • This shit is funny but fuck whoever did this coss METALLICA is the SHIT!!!

  • the michel camen thing went a little far

  • You guys suck- Every fuckin' prick can write something in internet, but not everyone could.

All you do is bitchin how much Metallica sucks. Sorry, but you suck.

  • lol dr dre sings then lars random comes in XD

  • They suck after Puppets. Couple good songs on Justice, but it was clear that they were going to sell out by listening to Justice.

  • Metallica started sucking in about 1991 and then started attacking the internet, too much beer?

  • Well SHIT

  • i have a friend, who seen metallica live when kill 'em all came out.... they were throwing their albums out for FREE into the crowd. cassettes AND vinyl. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED THEM?

  • I was mostly on the Napster side of this argument back then (having been old enough to be part of it and know what was going on - unlike a lot of people on here who were probably kids who couldn't use a computer to save their life back then). But it's kinda sad that people really think they only spend a couple days in the studio per album. How ignorant can you be?

  • James sounds like an old man

  • This is what megadeth fans do when their not complaining about Metallica.

  • best drumming lars has ever done was done on this vid

  • Ok guy's I'm all tuned up and ready to do this thing! Guys... FUCK!!!

  • lol, sue all the world sue all the children. It wouldn't be funny if it wasn't what they really do.

  • I don't understand why everyone is FOR piracy,Musicians might as well release their albums for free and the ask for donations to "Your lovely band".

And why pay to watch the World cup finals on Pay-per-view,when it's available for free on justin.com or whatever?

And why pay for the new Halo:Reach when you can pirate it after a while?

People who think like that are cheap-ass bastards.

And now you blame Metallica for standing Against Piracy?Yes,Shame on Metallica, how dare they sue pirates

  • @alismouha Well hmmm, I guess sitting around in a decadent music studio for a couple of days is really worth the millions they can earn. Heaven forbid they actually earn money by performing the music which the cost of a ticket is usually overpriced anyways. Damn they just have it so hard I really feel so bad for them. You know I guess their huge house in the hills just isn't big enough they should sue their fans who are the reason they have a job and many of them are 18 years or younger.

  • Why the hell are they making fun of Metallica for wanting money for the albums they made?

  • @themopheadclan well, even though some people think everything should be free, I don't think its what this film is about. It's more about the fact that the music industry simply hasn't kept up with time. Producing a cd has become so much easier and cheaper nowadays that a small investment can get you the proper equipment. But the cds costs about the same as they did in the early 90s, even though everything about the production, distribution and marketing has become cheaper -> not really fair.

  • @themopheadclan So, even though piracy IS stealing, it is the really only way to try to force prices down and make sure artists don't slack off. See what piracy spawned in online-sales of music, where one can buy the single good song and not an album full of mediocre songs.

The problem with the old way was that:

    1. The music industry semi-controlled the radios, meaning that they could make sure you only heard 1-2 good songs of an album, but you had to pay for ~12-15 (bad) songs.

  • @themopheadclan 2. If you buy a new car tire and it's no good, you can return it. If you buy a cd, pc game or movie and it's filled with crap - too bad. Of course you could hear most of the cds in the store, but if everybody wanted to do that there wouldn't be enough room.

    3. The whole way of distribution is medieval compared to what todays technology is capable of.

  • @themopheadclan

So in short: I don't think its bad for artist to want money. But they should try to conform to new technology and ways of distribution. They have to stick to some quality standard, else people will just download(illegally or legally) the 1 good song and not but the album of crap. They have to make distribution easier, and use the internet

But what the music industry did, was try to force everyone back to handling music distribution as in the 60s and 70s. And that can never work

  • 4:03 lol, poor Kirk.

  • The poor album sales is because no one is gonna spend 35 fucking bucks on a cd when you can get it for free on the internet....

  • James sounds more like Lemmy from Motorhead here loll

  • "we`ll fuck you up, and crack you in the balls" lmao

i love metallica, but it`s funny :-) and the parodies off these artists were pretty good

  • this was better than we are the world 25 for haiti.

  • Man, I love this song... I wonder if I can go download it from Limewire.... (jk, don't sue me =P)

  • as much as i love metallica this series is pretty funny

  • why does jason nesteds head look like a dick

  • YEAH. THAT'S EXACTLY THE KIND OF MUSIC METALLICA PLAY TODAY.

  • guys? FUCK!!!

  • "Wahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwahwah PRUUUUUUUUUUNES!" Im dying! xD

  • damn kirk should have gotten a longer line that was funny

  • LULZ

  • If only the world could unite as one... and sue each other.

  • people for get that metallica said thousands of times that all they want is control over their music, hetfield even said that all the people who think they sued napster for money should look into how much money they out into that case

  • @TheEvilsocky they sold out

  • metallica forgot that 80% of thrash bands profit early on was live shows. but there not thrash now so. yeah.

  • To funny. I would be pissed too if those Napster folks were stealing my god damn music.

  • @babadef

"A good music industry analyst WOULD see that the illegal downloading of music is a big culprit of artists struggling to make money"

Oh boo fucking hoo, due to technology those poor artists are going to have to get real jobs, and start plowing the field, and working in the factories (since when has a song ever put a roof over your head or food on the table). Even if they go to napster, the internet is the true distributor, get over Technology : 1 Greedy, music industry cocksuckers : 0

  • @babadef wow did i rely believe that 11 monts ago? and it got highest rated comment!? first off though limewire and napster are stupid and only for noobs. (which is alot of people). you can easily do direct downloads without getting all the limewire-viruses. also while illegal downloading of music has had a really destructive effect on the music industry, it allows people to hear your music even if they're not so initially interested.

  • @babadef for instance, 20 years ago if you heard about some band and maybe only heard like one of their songs on the radio and thought it was pretty meh you might not take time to buy it. or if you didnt have much money you would have to pick one album to buy and be limited with your music. the internet has destroyed the big corporate record companies and allowed artists to spread their music much easier.

  • @babadef Uhmm, well tbh mate, when this video was made (10 years ago) Napster was very small. It was a service with a couple of million and to be honest, the statement at the end was probably right but now that everyone can get music easily for free, a large proportion of money will be lost due to downloading. However the point of new music being shit is still valid, I mean look at these bands like Arctic Monkeys, Muse, etc. Just wank NME music sold to muppets who buy what they are told to buy.

  • @skezza yes but the destruction of the record industry is a good thing. There still is tons of great music today but now people get that for free and they can listen to all the good music they want and support all the bands they want by going to their shows. It also works as a prevention system since now most artists dont go into music looking to make money because they know music cant give them money it gives them artistic expression.

  • Dave Mustaine wouldnt bitch like Metallica

  • @Tacom4ster Because all he does is bitch about being kick out of metallica.

  • ahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahaaa

  • are you retarded?

    DM is awesome

  • HAHA Kirk!!!!

  • 30 Years ago mettalica was chucking their albums into crowds of people ...

what happened to to that band?

  • 30 years ago? 20ish maybe. What happened was they got gay. They used to tell people to bootleg their live shows, nowdays they are all about the money. I've given up on them. Megadeth may have Dave as the headman who can be a whining bitch at times but he wrote the only good Metallica songs and still makes actual metal, unlike that country and western crap Metallica make now.

  • lololol k

  • @TheEvilsocky

i see it as it was cause they were giving it out to their fans, so it was their choice. but afterwords napster gave it out even if they didnt want them to happen.

Most bands dont support it cause its not heard the way they want you to hear it but idk.

  • @TheEvilsocky

They changed dude, they changed. I cant even listen to their music now.

  • @TheEvilsocky They got rich and forgot about what music is about. I love these videos lol.

  • @Opethfan79 yip - the last decent album was the black Metallica album. Its been crap since.

  • @TheEvilsocky 30 years ago metallica only made 100 killem'all tape's, so you're thinking way to far into the past. i wonder why no one ever mentions kiss's greed, they're not a band they're a company out for money (anything with the name kiss belongs to them) but you never hear shit about them.

  • @TheEvilsocky I'll tell u what happened: Cliff died then metallica died

  • @TheEvilsocky I think they were bitching around because there was unreleased stuff on napster as well. At filming their concerts is still allowed...

  • MTV, is the answer.....

  • @TheEvilsocky

Money, that's what happened. They were anti-establishment. Then they became the "establishment". And their fans aren't smart enough to know why they should boycott the band.

  • @TheEvilsocky They got Famous!

  • @TheEvilsocky they r getting older dude, daah

  • where ia kark hammet??

  • and sex slaves that came with it to

  • prunes!!!!!!!!

  • what does camp chaos have against metallica? This joke was funny for like 2 seconds. This really should of stopped after the first.

  • chill bro, im a huge metallica fan and find this funny lol

  • This is hilarious, even if it takes a shit on my favorite band.

  • slim shady was so funny

  • that reminds me of we are the world us for africa. it was funny at the end when kirk missed the recording. i used to use napster but it fucked up my mp3 player so go ipod

  • nananana PRUNES!!!

  • It's very true, they've been cranking out mountains of uninspired shit for years from bands they kept promoting long after they burned out (like metallica) and then shoving it down our throats through the corrupt radio corporations. Now that we can look for lesser known bands online that still know what it means to be an artist (unlike metallica, etc.) the old RIAA business model is swimming up a toilet swirl, and it's a beautiful thing.

  • I love Nutty McShithead.

  • forget my last comment i didn't see kirk or rob at the end but now i do
