Not one of my friends ever got why I loved this band so much. The rythmn and vocals are just so nocturnal. It's the heartbeat of the city after dark!!! I could play this in my head (without a walkman) in the mid 80's whilst walking around central Bristol between clubs & gigs without a care...
Oh my God, i was so hoping i would find their stuff on here. Years ago after I stumbled upon their stuff on napster I searched high and low, every record store in many a big city for their stuff to no avail. After 11 years I'm reunited! Thank you. thank you.
First ever gig was Pink Military/Wah! Heat followed by Cabaret Voltaire/The Fall the next night! Everything downhill after that lot! Gorgeous song............
What an astonishingly sexy record! That languid guitar threads it's sinuous way into your mind. And where to start with that vocal - see if it grabs you, and if so, WHERE? Absolutely fuckin' delicious. And I know people who don't get it. How more wrong could they be? None. None more wrong.
Perfect song, if i am right a love tribute to Morrisey as his named is mentioned! I was lucky to see them once in The Hague, somewhere in the Eightees. Other great song is 'Don't let go'
So glad there are others who got to hear this. I became an instant fan in the 1980's... the minimalist sound... awesome lyrically, interesting... genuine.
A great record from the wonderful Jayne Casey who played her part in Liverpool's punk and new wave scene and later became one of the co-founders of the Cream nightclub.
Pink Industry have a great My Space music site with more of the Music we like...including the classic "Feel the Pain"..I still have some old cassette tapes from recording John Peel off the Radio in the late 1970s and early 1980s...lots of Pink Military , Pink Industry, Joy Division, Delta 5, Anne Clarke, Cocteau, Fatal Microbes, The Sinatras, ETC..i remember listening to THE SMITHS on peel My girl said they wont get Far singing that dull shit! She had no Idea! .Peel Was so much ahaed of his time
Last I heard, Jayne was an arts administrator in Liverpool having lost her singing voice following throat surgery. I think she had become bored with the music biz by then (mid 90's). She was a true punk and I think the searing honesty is one of the things that makes the songs so achingly beautiful. They are set in those wonderfully dark baselines that make them shine even brighter. I think Ambrose went into performance / conceptual art but I'm not sure. Hope they are both fulfilled now.
If you heard the track she recorded after the operation I think you would notice the difference. Also, she is not trying to sing "Ave Maria". There are songs that stretch her voice more, like "Two cultures" and "Stand Alone".
Jayne was in the news recently. She was being sued by her business partner over some money he invested in a Liverpool arts project. All seems a bit odd because I think Jayne must have earned a few bob from her involvement in "Cream". She is now trying to buy him out.
Changed my oulook on music this band did in the early 80's. Played the album to death, think my bro's got sick of hearing but still means a lot to me this track. Love it.
1983's "Who Told You, You Were Naked?" - one of the greatest albums of all times. The closing track "Time For Change" still sends chills down my spine every time I hear it. Awesome project.
Used to have this song on the "Suck" comp video ...brilliant to finally see it again after so many years ...there was also another good band featured; "A Primary Industry" ...but don't see it up yet ...anyone?

Understand that I too am indeed a fan - but even so, the term "singing" voice is stretching things an eensy bit, methinks.
