  • I stuck in a situation where I have 3 corner pieces and all 3 needs to be rotated in clock wise direction.

This situation is not described anywhere. Am i missing something or did I do something wrong?

I recorded video of that situation. If you are interested please let me know, I'll forward it to you.

  • @nitinjainec No, nothing's wrong. Let's call the corner pieces A, B, C. What you need to do is rotate A clockwise and B counter-clockwise using this move sequence. Then, rotate B counter-clockwise and C clockwise.

  • @jeaysm Thanks

  • This guide was amazing i learned an easy way to solve my cube. BTW this was my first solve.

  • Thanks for a gr8 guide. used text website also. this is a gr8 technique which is very easy to learn, except for this part which is kind of confusing, I still needed to memorize the CW and CCW rotations. gr8 work!!!! you're a something.

  • Thanks for the comments. You'll find this step shouldn't be too hard to learn, as the moves are practically opposites of one another -- L D2 L' F' D2 F (for CW) and then F' D2 F L D2 L' (for CCW), plus moving the U face.

  • thanks a lot i got it

    i am a Chinese player

your method is very easy to learn and use

    thany you

and i think it can be used by more players

  • Thanks, man. Got a free fake rubik's cube the other day and solved it today using your page and videos! My speed record is about 90 minutes. Let's see you people beat that!

  • Glad to hear. I fearlessly predict that your speed record will dramatically improve!

  • Cheers! Thanks, this is for sure the best "solving guide" around! Very nice and clear

  • i have conqured the cube

  • o thanx a lot! i understand now, a bit more work but it's cool lol.

  • i solved it. now i can show off to all my friends, just one problem. i tried to solve it again and on this step u said u have to solve as pairs right? well what if u have 5 more cubes to solve, then what?

  • You will have to solve one of the corners twice (you'll turn it either clockwise twice instead of counter-clockwise once, or the other way around). Check the link in the sidebar for more info.

  • i did it. finally! thanks. i'm better at getting into step 5 myself. kinda watch the vids over again as guide to solve it. i think imma learn it soon.

  • Thanks Dude, the last move is the move I couldn't "see"

  • cheer me up....hehehe...i'll try to solve mine..hehehe...go/!

  • I finally solved it! I thank you dude. You are amazing!

  • this has been the best rubix cube solving tutorial yet....but i need help with one thing. What do i do if two of the corners were automatically solved on step 5 and the other two both need to be change counter-clock wise????

  • It's okay if step 5 solves some corners as a side effect. The situation you are talking about though isn't possible (assuming you mean that the entire cube is correct, except for two corners that need rotating clockwise). You would have to take apart your cube and reassemble it properly. If you have three corner pieces needing to be rotated clockwise, do them in two pairs (one corner would be rotated twice).

  • thanks it turned out tht i changed the problem.. now my question is what is the cubes that need be oriented on the yellow face are diagonal?

  • This is covered in the last paragraph in the link in the sidebar, but in a nutshell, just do R2 and then they will both be on the U face, and then do the corner-orienting move as normal, then do R2 again.

  • ty soo much!!Ur freakin awsome

  • i finally did it!.. thanks

  • awesome tutorial :)

  • AHHH! I SOLVED IT!! Thanks for all of the help!

  • man that was like a bad english class in high school....... holy shit...... give it up cus i dont think you could teach a dog to shit outside

  • ok never mind..I got it!! YAY! thanks!

  • what if the corner pieces on the U face is diagonally across each other. As in one's in the UFR and the other in the UBL. How do i orient it correctly then?

  • Excellent video tutorials. Very little memorization and a fairly quick way of solving too. Thanks!

  • OMG! I solved it... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • thank you thank you thank you! i solved the rubix cube so many times today! and for the first time too.

  • Thanks for the Videos. I have solved it so many times now my "rotate thumb" is hurting. take care..

  • First of all thanks for your help.I learned had to solve it using the instructions that come with the cube now is this method your using requieres less move? I just learned it and I'm not too fast yet with the one the inst. my best is about 3 mins.

  • Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the solution that comes with the cube so I can't compare it. I have seen it in that booklet that comes with the cube but never bothered to work through it.

  • I did it! well that was rewarding, thanks man.

  • Awesome. Thanks so much. Thanks for teaching me.

  • What if both of them are counterclockwise or clockwise, how would I do that?

  • It's impossible to have the entire cube solved except for two clockwise or counter-clockwise. Sometimes you get three that all need rotating in the same direction. In that case you would rotate one of those pieces counter-clockwise twice. I explain it at more length in the link in the sidebar.

  • This is an easy step but one problem... Its very easy to get disoriented while in the process of applying the moves. If you make one mistake or you forget which side is UDLFB, you have to start all over again, cos you can't easily undo this process.

  • Hi, this is a new method for me. thanks a lot for posting your vids. just one quuestion, what is this method called????

  • You helped me learn the cube. This thing has been unsolveable to me for my entire life - until now. Thanks!!!

  • Helped a lot. Thanks. Took a while to understand what you were saying, but after a while everything you would say made sense.

  • these videos and the website really helped me out. thanks

  • Im having the same problem over and over again.

Whn Im at the orient the colors thing I get stuck at the last 2. The problem is that they are on the same face but not in the same line. What should I do?

  • You can freely rotate the U face. So if say the UFL and UBR corners need rotating (diagonally opposite on the top face) just do a U2 move after you rotate the first corner. You can do any U move, not just a quarter-turn clockwise like I do in the video.

  • Thanks man, forever I have been solving a side at a time.. and I could never get past 3 sides... I didn't even think about leaving one rotation position open. ;-) Ha but I was just solving it on my own without alorithms. Thanks again. Where are you from? Canada?

  • Yes: Ottawa, Canada.

  • tyvm man i can finaly do it but yet to show my friends.

    tyvm for ur help

  • hey! thank you so much! your videos were great! i am having one problem though. i get all the way through step 6, but then there is just one corner piece that is in the correct location but incorrectly oriented. i can't seem to find a way to rotate it correctly without messin up one other piece and havin the same problem there. i've scrambled the cube and have used different colors for the U face and all and i always end up in this same situation with just one corner piece messed up. please help

  • If you've solved the entire cube and the only thing that is wrong is one corner piece, then your cube has been diassessembled and put back incorrectly which makes it impossible to solve. You'll need to take it apart and put it back together correctly.

  • ok tyvm

  • ok i have tryed to solve the two corner peices without solving the rest of the cube and found out that it works. tyvm for ur help and advise.

  • both*

  • tyvm man i will give it a go. also u know how u say that the move has to be done in pairs and the bother have to be either clockwise (to solve the position) or counter clockwise. well could u please make a 1 miniute movie on how to solve the cube if the 2 sides are both clockwise or both counterclockwise.

    tyvm for ur help

  • It's not possible for the whole cube to be correct other than two corner pieces that both need orienting in the same direction. With this move you always have to turn one clockwise and one counter-clockwise. Sometimes you'll have to rotate one corner twice in the same direction to solve it. If you check the website I explain how to solve it if three corner pieces need rotating in the same direction.

  • man this is hard i have tryed doing step 6, 5 times now and it still isn't working so i dont understnad how u do it

  • What's going wrong? Are you rotating the two corner pieces in different directions? Does at least the first corner piece rotate properly? If you want to practice Step 6 without having to solve the rest of the cube first just solve one side and then practice on two corner pieces on that and you can see what's happening.

  • i cant seem to find it...would you mind copy/pasting the link?

  • hm, i cant seem to find it...would you mind copying/pasting the link?

    thanks!

  • you know what would be a great wrap-up? Perhaps you could do the cube "in-action" really fast using this solution. I really think that it would be a great conclusion. Anyone else agree?

    Thanks!

  • Done! Check my video "Speed Run".

  • I just have to say thank you. These videos have been really helpful for solving the cube. I have always had a problem with this damned invention, but now I can finally say I have solved it. Not I just need to get faster.

    Thanks again.

  • thanks so much for these vids dude. all my friends think im a genius now, but lets just let them think that ;)

    thanks again!

  • :D Thanks! I can finally do it!

  • I understand this step has to be done in pairs. But MUST one be rotated clockwise and the other counterclockwise: in other words, cant u rotate a pair that both needs to be rotated clockwise (or counterclockwise)?

  • In the pair, one has to be rotated clockwise, and one counter-clockwise, not both in the same direction. If you're left with three that need rotating in the same direction, check the instructions in the URL on the sidebar. If the entire cube is solved correctly, except for two corners that need rotating in the same direction, this is an impossible situation and it likely means your cube was disassembled and reassembled incorrectly.

  • yea just do it like u wouldn a counter cw/ cw move except cw/cw or ccw/ccw. it will end up right trust me ive done it.

  • YES!!! I had tried this orientation move like 3 times before and it scrambled my cube up somehow, but this time I finally got it and now i've solved the Rubik's Cube for the very first time thanks to you!! Thank you so much for these video tutorials!!! It was too difficult for me to take the text instruction on your webpage and visualize that on my cube without these video tutorials. Now i can use just the text but as a complete beginner it was hard. Thanks again!

  • Cheers bro ... seriously ... you are THE shit ... if not for these vids i would have thrown the F***ing thing out the window ...

  • Thanks! Good thing, windows are expensive :)

  • Wow, I had everything done except two U face corner peices which were correctly position but incorrectly oriented...everything else was done. I tried to apply the orientation move with the pair and it scrambled my cube--im very upset, it took me like 3 hours to get that faR

  • It happens, when you learning... but it'll take a lot less time if you try it again. If you need to practice doing the last step I suggest just solving one side and then doing Step 6 on it.

  • Thank you soooo much ... also ... can you do two clock wise, or two counter-clcok wise when you do the move in the pairs? or does it have to be one of each?

  • You have to do one of each using these moves.

  • Dude ... i need Clarification on when to turn it clockwise or anti clockwise ... plz help me ...

  • OK, hold the corner you want to rotate in the UFL position (upper-front-left). If the color on the Left side needs to go to the Upper side, then you need clockwise. If the color on the Front side needs to go to the Upper side, then you need counter-clockwise.

  • thanks for the videos. on my most recent attempt to solve the cube i ended up with 3 corners all requiring clockwise rotations making step 6 impossible (i think). any suggestions?

  • Check my web page, in the link in the side bar, I discuss this in the second to last paragraph of that section in detail. You basically do the move twice on one of the corner pieces.

  • yay *chants* i can do the rubix cube lol thanks dude big help =D i owe ya one

  • I have 5 corners that need to be oriented!!! what do i do?

  • That's okay. You just need to do them two at a time. You'll need to twist one of those corners twice (in the same direction).

  • Thanks big help

  • ..i only have one more step to learn to solve the rubiks cube but im seeing that you do it comepletely diffrent then i do...anyways...im confused -_-'

  • There are many, many different ways of solving the cube. Just choose one method and focus on that.

  • ALLELUYA mothafuckers!

hey what about the other cubes like the revenge version ???
