  • This should be in Sonic 4 Episode 2.

  • Every time im at track practice...i think of this lol

  • OMG...3D BLAST!! I REMEMBER 3D BLAST!! I had the Genesis version though. It was HAAARD. To this day I've never beaten it. I got pretty close once, but only because this happened:

*I go to play it and...*

Sister: I think your game broke...

Me: WTH? O__o No way! *taps Genesis*

*CONGRATULATIONS: You've unlocked the secret Stage Select!*

Me: ...Hey, this isn't so bad =D

Sister: How did you do that?

Me: I have no idea but I'm not complaining! =D

  • Sega Saturn version has better graphics and some music than the Genesis one.

  • Odd. Some parts of this sound like Wnna Be Startin' Somethin' by Michael Jackson.

  • Sonic XG :D

  • This is a remake of the song from the Sonic 2 version.

(lol...Marvel VS Capcom 2's entire soundtrack sounds like this 1 song)

  • @UltimateShadow10 It does sound like Marvel vs Capcom 2

  • @UltimateShadow10 wow i just now noticed that O.O thx i thought its was just a completely different music that sega just thought up of :L

  • 5 Persons lost the special stage

  • thats what they should do,remake s3d for the 3ds

  • @sonicfankeith Yes. Having the circle pad would make controlling Sonic easier, 3D would make the gae look cool, EVERYTHING WOULD BE RIGHT. The Saturn version of course, maybe remix the Genesis trax.

  • @Worldpeacekid *game

  • nos.

    tal.

    gia.

    GO SONIC 2!

  • Those first seconds made me think that this was theme was going to be a homage to the Sonic 2 stages...i was partially wrong.

  • @Edfan10 Wait-No I WASN'T!! This is totally like the Sonic 2 special stages, what are you talking about, me?

  • Funny but the megadrive music for this game is the (much) better.

  • I'm Commander Sheppard and this is my favorite song in this game.

  • Yes the good old days back when gas was a buck a gallon, obama wasn't president and 9/11 didn't happen the internet was for rich people and the poor hedgehog wasn't being suffocated to death by his own company.

  • @sparkshock44

    Sonic was..

  • this should be called shenanigans

  • On the Mario vs Sonic music debate that ended forever ago that I feel the need to dig back up:

Sonic has GREAT music from back in the old days that just got stuck in your head for a while. Then you'd fondly remember it later. Not to say Mario wasn't the same way (EVERYONE will be able to hum at least 2 Mario songs), But Sonic had so MANY memorable songs.

Nowadays, not so much. Sonic music isn't as memorable, but at the same time... Mario still pulls out memorable stuff. Oh, the good old days.

  • Seriously, where the hell is that third collection Sega/Sonic Team needs to churn out? I'd play this game for the music for one thing.

  • overall mario has far better music.

  • Why is it that whenever I hear this song, I feel like it needs to be mashed up with Michael Jackson's Wanna Be Starting Something?

  • Jeez people, can we PLEASE stop comparing the music of two different franchises? Sega and Nintendo haven't been rivals in over ten years, so stop living in the past and just enjoy the goddamned music!

  • @IYellalot How can we stop living in the past when this song makes us remember our past?

  • @IYellalot aren't we tecnically still living in the past considering the music we're listenig to?

  • Sonic Music > Mario music... 'nuff said

  • Don't you feel ripped off that the Saturn Version of Sonic 3D Blast wasn't in Mega or Gems Collections in anyway? They need to come out with a new Sonic Collections that includes the Saturn Version, Knuckles Chaotix, and the Arcade Sonic Game with Mighty and Ray. At the VERY least. (Oh, and Sonic Shuffle, too.)

  • Reminds me of Sonic 2

  • @ShadowTailsfan86 Yeah, I'm hearing the bass line from the Sonic 2 special stage.

  • Nicely done.

I would like to put in a request as per your video description. If you could record it I would be pleased, as the song is greatly underrepresented on youtube. It's the tutorial music from Chaotix, wherein you learn how to use hold action with Espio. I can't remember its name in the sound test.

  • is this on Sonic GEMs collection?

  • @Sonicforever231 no, it's on Virtual Console for the Wii and Sonic Mega Collection but THOSE are the Genesis versions so I don't think this version is on any compilation sad though, it would have made a great addition on Gems collection because of the Special Stages alone.

  • @Sonicforever231 sadly no

  • Love the porno guitar in the background.

  • This would rock in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

  • my brother had a saturn and I always thought Sega had some of the most bangin' music!

  • This song really set the mood for the Special Stage. That and it was just downright funky.

  • ....Nostalgia

  • This would nicely fit in Marvel vs Capcom 3 xD

  • @mairusu1 hope it supports custom soundtrack :3

  • it's just me or this song has a part that looks like MJ's "Wanna Be Starting Something" ?

  • the image looks like sonic is gonna falcon punch someone

  • two questions: Is this also the PC version of Sonic 3D Blast and can the PC Version play on Windows XP or Vista?

  • @GDelva2003 Yea there is, but it doesn't have the music from the Saturn version....unfortunately.

  • @hatey319

No, Sonic 3D blast for the PC has the Saturn soundtrack.

  • @GDelva2003

No, just the regular PC. The game's too old for those new computers.

  • @mariodude8989211 what about windows xp?

  • @ReallyRandomMovies1

Like I said before, computers like the Windows XP are too new for games like this. I mean, seriously, this game was made in 1995. That's 15 years ago. The PC was also made around that time, so I don't think it'll work on a Windows XP or any of these new PC's.

  • @mariodude8989211 PC was made around 1995?

    lol'd

  • @mariodude8989211 Pc was made 15 years ago? If you believe that than I got swamp land in New York to sell you!

  • @misledlestat

Okay, look, It doesn't matter when the PC was made, all I'm saying is that this game was for one of those old PCs. Y'nkow, big and bulky unlike today's slim PCs.

  • After listening this song, I want to put an MP3 in my head by a surgery, which will play the song in my head all day :D

  • I wish this song in a Sonic Colors SPecial Stage

  • This music is jsut about the best special stage music ive ever hear!

  • @halfpipe1011 I don't even OWN the Saturn Version, and I agree! This special stage music is the best!

  • "...has over 9000 songs(probably true!) that NEVER get old."

Over 9000! (DBZ reference for those who don't know)

  • @Sonicthemainhedgehog who doesn't know what over 9000 means?!

  • @Sonicthemainhedgehog

Well, who doesn't know what OVA NINETHOUSAND means? Huh? Huh? HUH? hUH? HUH?

  • Richard should come back into making Sonic music for Sega again. CAUSE HE'S THE MAN!

  • The background sounds in this piece remind me thoroughly of Mario Kart 64 and Sonic 2.

    This's a really awesome tune. x3

  • Comment removed

  • I can see myself inside a casino with this piece.

  • Anyone who likes this composer would do well to listen to Metropolis Street Racer's sound track. His genius makes a cameo there!

  • The greatest feature in the Saturn version of Sonic 3D was the soundtrack. For me, it was this particular this Special Stage track that made the game.

  • Same here, I fell in love with that sound track.

  • I love this. Great throwback tune to Sonic 2, but at the same time it has its own groove. Thanks for posting!

  • Comment removed

  • Truesonic1 can you do the song in sonic 3D where It Sounds Like Twinkle cart?

  • @PurePwnage20

    You mean Panic Puppet zone?

  • Yoko is completely and uterly right

and for people who say mario galaxy had the best music, I Highly disagree, after hearing those songs for over 30 kin. i wanted to shut the system off

  • hey truesonic1 do you think u could get your my hero from soinc 3d blast satern version??.-. i miss that songXD

  • Woah, no need to hate on the Mario Music. Forgot about Galaxy?

  • I know right? That had the best music.

  • Maybe its because Mario relies too much on remixing the old 8-bit games music.

  • it wasnt too bad, it just gets really old really quick and sonic doesnt repeat its music nearly as often.

  • Super mario brothers has 1 song that everyone likes, that crap that eventually gets so annoying you want to pop your eardrums.

the Sonic series, on the other hand has over 9000 songs(probably true!) that NEVER get old.

  • thank you! someone who understands!

  • i agree with you on the second part.

  • Dude, Over 20 thumbs up so far, and I can see why.

  • wow, a new personal record ^-^

  • Great comment, I completely agree. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the early Mario stuff is admittedly very catchy but it does get repetitive rather quickly.

Compare the unlockable Mario music with the unlockable Sonic music in the gallery on Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for instance. Seriously now, which set of music is more pleasant to listen to?

  • Sonic of course ^-^

Although the Sonic CD admittedly had some... less awesome things... like singing...

  • by who? by drunk people ? its not even close to Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles

  • @UR86

Err.. who are you talking to?

Next time, use the "reply" button.

  • just because screaw attack says so dose not mean its the best

  • No duh, but that was something someone told me so i just accepted it.

  • @YokoX23

    And NA's game over...

  • to YokoX23:

ONE song? Are you sure you're not exaggerating just a TINY bit?

  • @YokoX23 I'm afraid to ask..... What song from SMB do you refer to?

  • @YokoX23 I agree!

  • @YokoX23 I disagree, im a fan of sonic but mario has some nice themes too (underworld, the swimming level, the hammer turtles, etc)

  • @YokoX23 -Boy, are you SOUR.

  • @YokoX23

You obviously haven't played many Mario games have you?

  • @YokoX23 Although I agree with that, Koopa Road from Super Mario 64 and Galaxy 2 OST are really awesome stuff.

  • @YokoX23

Okay, yes, Sonic is amazing, that part of your comment I have no issue with. But Mario music sucking? May I remind you that mario has gusty garden galaxy?

  • @RaustBD Boring song is boring.

  • @YokoX23 Geez, furfags are so aggressive.Go fap to blue hedgehogs while I fap to real women.

  • @YokoX23 would you like me to list a CRAPLOAD of GREAT tunes from across the mario franchise? im not saying nor implying sonics music is worse in any way, but what you said simply is NOT true.

  • @YokoX23 I actually never got tired of Super Mario Bros. theme and to be honest,I don't find this track that appealing. It's kind of dull, actually.Doesn't get my attention.

  • I have to hand it to it,Sonic 3D on the Saturn had awesome music.

  • READY SET GOOOO!

  • Ahhhh so many wonderful memories :). I loved the Saturn version of this game.

  • I heard this at a party today.

  • Richard Jacques is the fucking man.

  • this is 5000 times better thatn the genesis version. Jacques, come back! Sonic needs you to make some of the games better!

  • He actually composed some tracks for Sonic Unleashed. Unfortunately, that game isn't so great.

While it's awesome to have Jacques' talent in any Sonic score, it's Sonic Team that needs to realize what made Sonic great back in the Mega Drive/Genesis days. Given the way things are going, it's unfortunate that the possibility of this happening is extremely low.

  • How can you turn Sonic from the Megadrive/Genesis days into a decent 3D platforming game? They have exhausted nearly every option.

  • @XKaiminalX

    Sonic Colors says hello.

  • @TeinCave

You need a time machine dood, I didn't see you posting a comment saying "Oh wait, it happened! It's Sonic Colors!" So you probably not been aware of it.

  • i am back my friend...

  • GET 120 RINGS!

    Haha, I love it. =)

  • the saturn sonic games had clasic music that just couldn't be beat especialy Sonic R.

  • love this song. it almost made it okay when you didn't get the emerald

  • This music makes me high xD

  • I'M GETTING HIGH WOOO *dances*

  • "Sigh" Never gets old! XD

It gets "5 GOLDEN Rings!" out of 5

  • It sounds like a jazzy remixed version of Sonic 2's bonus stage BGM. Ah! Good stuff!

  • That's because the bonus stages themselves are basically the same as Sonic 2's. ;-)

  • Let's get funkayyyyyy.

  • much better of the megadrive version!

  • You played Sonic Jam music in a band?!

    That sounds so cool!

  • @dougd1015

No, I think he just played regular jam music. Well, he actually said it was Jazz.

  • I first heard this on Sonic Radio! It so owns the zone! It reminds me of the jam sessions my high school jazz band had! I loved playing drums back then! Way cool jam, man!

  • jazzy funky shit yeah ^^

  • Brillant Graphics for Saturn those stages were.

  • Lol, good drumming in this song...even though it's programmed. It's fun to play. very jazz-like

  • I love the Genesis version too, but this theme is just so much more alive versus the Genesis version!

  • Hey, I was just wondering if you had the song they play at the beginning after the start screen while it explains the story.

  • @RoflolomgXD

    Panic Puppet.

You need to memorize those names, man >.>

  • 01:04-01:15 sounds like a pretty heroic part

  • @solarisTH

No, that part sounds like elevator music to me. What kinda superhero comics do you read? A hero that saves people from having to wait in an elevator? Huh? HUH?

  • This whole song rocks!!! My fav is the piano at 1:04.

  • It sounds like a remix of the Sonic 2 special stage music...

  • Oh yea it sorta does. Well I wouldnt be suprised since the whole level looks like a remade 32-bit version of the sonic 2 special stage.

  • 32-bit (Disc format)

  • @dougd1015

Really? I thought the Sega Saturn had 64 bit graphics :O

  • I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH!!!!!! it gets me movin, it makes me wanna DANCE! thanx SO much 4 adding [@!!]

  • This was always one of my faves.

  • Listening to this music, I imagine myself driving the superfast Mercedes SLR McLaren, and being able to take this superbad whip up to its 207mph top speed!!!

  • where'd you find the music? (please reply)

  • just simply even take out your Sonic 3D disc and place it in your drive, then rip out the special stage one.

  • cool!!

  • omfg i want this song!

  • Hey I have been saying this alot on some of ur vids but mabye you can do Sand Oasis from Sonic and the secret rings!

  • Can I request egg hornet or chaos from sonic adventure? Thanks! I'm glad someone is posting sonic music on this site!

  • Groovin':)

  • At 1:25, why did the image disappear?

  • I only needed the image to appear at the halfway mark of the movie so it showed up in the thumbnail view of the movie.

  • this was a cool game

  • So much better than the megadrive version! :D
