There are audiences like that in real life who enjoy seeing anybody get in on the action in the ring.

Some I've heard don't even care if the fighters get seriously hurt or die, even going as far to joining the fight themselves or providing foreign objects for the fighters!

Excuse me for asking, but are you serious? I know two reasons that you shouldn't be: 1) this is just a movie so he didn't hit her for real; 2) even if this were real, did you happen to take into account what provoked him?

1) I know it's just a movie but picking roles like that makes me think less of him.

2) It doesn't matter if she provoked him, his character is a violent brute just like The Hulk. Cuz he's deaf he probably couldn't hear her say don't hit me.

1) Forgive me if you already know this, but his character is supposed to be mentally retarded (the first Cage movie showed that he was shot in the head in Vietnam).

2) He did his best to avoid hurting her (she never said, "Don't hit me,")- she threw punches and he just grabbed her arms to stop her; she kicked him in the face and he just told her to get out; finally, she kicked him in the groin and then tried to punch him again.

3) If you still hate him, does that mean you hate Robert DeNiro?

Have you ever seen Raging Bull (1980)? DeNiro spent almost a decade trying to get the lead role in that movie, and he won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his performance. He hits Cathy Moriarty like a pinata in that movie!

Ferrigno's not a big name actor, so he can't afford to be very picky about his roles and he's a victim of typecasting.

I beg your pardon, but I think Ferrigno deserves more respect than what your giving him.

Furthermore, that remark you made about Ferrigno's hearing impairment was a little disturbing. Once again, you made it sound like this was for real. The character he's playing is not deaf. Secondly, it seemed as though you were implying that he's a jerk simply because he's deaf. I don't know if that was your point, but I doubt most handicapped people would appreciate that sentiment. Lastly, you're making it sound like he's the only actor who ever has or ever would hit a woman on screen.

Plenty of other actors have hit women in movies for reasons much less justifiable than reacting to being kicked between the legs.

I'm not trying to convince anyone that Lou Ferrigno is a god to be worshiped. If you don't like him, Articclaws, that's fine with me. However, for many people his rise to fame in spite of his handicap is inspiring. If you must hate him, my friend, at least be polite enough to give more sensible reasons.

Best role Ferrigno was ever in because they let him use his awesome power to beat the sh*t out of guys. Not often we get to see a 300-pound bodybuilder brutalize weak guys and knock a chick the fuck out.
