I watched this movie yesterday, and I loved every moment of it! The two main characters are so charming, and they create some really emotional scenes, too. The idea for this movie is unique, the storyline was beautiful, and I even enjoyed the soundtrack!

Honestly, sometimes I'm so ashamed to be an American. The comments I read here is precisely the reason I do not hang with people around my own age! I'm 20 years young and appreciate old movies like this for YEARS. They are so closed-minded. I haven't seen this movie yet because it's not out on DVD yet. I'm also deaf so I can't see it in theaters. I always prefer "foreign" movies than what America nowadays makes. I think I want to move to England or France, but my home is here with my family. :)
@TheFamedMauveBoudior Just wanted to say that you can see this in the theaters, there is really no speaking in it at all, there's speaking/sound about three times in it and you don't need to hear what it is, you'll just know. But the music in it really sets the mood so (I'm sorry if I sound like an ass, I'm trying not to) you being deaf might make it less of a good movie.

I probably wouldn't have picked this movie as 2011's big star, but I must admit that all the nominees and Oscars are a reminder (and even a lesson) that this is what movies were initially about and we should all cherish the good old black and white mute movies because they came first.

This movie is Garbage.

If you want to see a black and white movies , go watch Charlie Chaplin.

it's just a matter of taste actually. Today's generation may prefer watching alll sci-fi 3ds or animated movies, or action, or just simply romance-comedy. But I love old ones, black and white like Charlie Chaplin, It's a Wonderful World, and I am definitely going to watch this one!

All France laughed with the character that Jean Dujardin ("from-the-garden") starred, insomuch children were fond of talking about it. He also stareed with his wife in Un gars, une fille (486 episods) - he's totally great! it would not surprise me that he becomes an image of acting.

Just saw it... takes guts to produce a silent film nowadays... and I tell you they did a heck of a job! really really nice movie... keeps you hooked in... think of it ... you get stuck seeing a movie with no speeches... when you take out something so important... you must have a really good product on the back to support it...
