  • Nice review, keep the good job!

  • thank you!!!

  • awesome demo, nice playing

  • Please no more of these wankin gear vids. Their are plenty of talent deficit players demo-ing gear on YT.

Can we get back to your solos or songs. A talent like yours should not be used to demo gear. I would like to hear some more of your guitar compositions and excellent playing.

May the force be with you.

  • @music2me23 haha what. If you don't like it then don't watch it. Obviously many people on youtube find this video useful, as there aren't many demos of either.

  • @squiresuzuki Yeah totally agree! It`s a GEAR REVIEW!

  • HOG ROCKS!

  • What tune are you playing at 4:14?

  • Wow, wasn't even considering the HOG - glad I came across this... I'm gonna check it out! Good demo sir! Not too much jibber-jabber and musical!

  • You're an arpeggio wizard!

  • The pitchfactor does not feature any of Eventides advanced formant correction pitch processing (see the H8000) hence it's and the HOGs warbling.

The HOG is not truly polyphonic, as it only processes a mono signal and filters it accordingly (albeit very well). You can still hear the pitch tracking errors on almost every monophonic 'input' devices. The only way to get true accurate polyphonic pitch shofting is to get a divided (hex) pickup e.g. GK-3 and something like a VG-99.

  • Great demo thanks. You just saved me a bit of money and a huge amount of frustration. None of the Pitchfactor's other functions make up for the poor tracking. You sold me on the HOG.

  • how did you got that ballerina sound?

  • Really stellar reviews! Keep them coming and thanks!

  • ur like the only person on youtube who actually knows how to use the freeze gliss, changing slowly

  • This is quite amazing. And I love you.

  • thank you very much for this

  • Awesome progression at around :50 seconds. Like an Organ! Does it have reverb?

  • So Borat for example you may say, "that was a very fair and unbiased demo", pause "NOT". Oh look now it says comment deleted. How do you delete comment deleted? Oh you can't delete comment deleted. Interesting. So does the Hog have a delay? can it do a 9th? does it have 100 presets? who cares Borat, I only like the Pig. Is Don is good. Get some pork on your fork. Hog tie me and grease me up with bacon fat.

  • the hog has an intuitive layout, tracks way better, has awsome chord holding capabilities, and sounds like one of those baroque period organs - adding an awsome vibe to the minor 3rds/5ths - and you can play over them. not to mention its also polyphonic. eventide? it might as well be a no-name brand here by its performance. the electro harmonix just whooped eventide's ass at its own ballgame! awsome review, this is way more than cool.

  • @evhgl87 he says that the eventide is not polyphonic

  • Burgerman666 has demoed further possibilities of the pitchfactor in four videos. Impressive sound quality, in his demos, imo.

  • Both are great pedals imo. The HOG tracks a lot better in hi-speed and tone performances yet i don´t think the Eventide is actually an octave generator pedal talking about main features. i´d keep the Pitchfactor without a doubt for its great real versatility. That box is like a little sound studio where, by the way, it gives its best.

If you look for an octave generator keep the hog.

If you look further than that go buy the freeze and keep the Eventide.

  • so the HOG just transforms a guitar to an organ. and blows your mind while doing it

  • I personally like to use both the Hog and the Pitch factor together... Sometimes i play War of the Worlds fx on them just for lewls.

  • I don't think its an easy comparison... they both are different. I think where the HOG really stands out is ease of use.

  • great playing

  • have you been able to sync the eventide with your DAW via the MIDI?

  • Thx for great demo! Hog surprisely better in tracking. But not to forget pitchfactor does superb: Chorus/Flange sounds, Stereo delay, Rhythm delay, Expr. pedal controlled sounds at users like, and Tuner. Pitch factor also does not so bad:

(Intelligent) Pitch shifting, Octaver, Synth and special effect sounds. Most of this in stereo in a small to medium footprint on the pedalboard. But yes, hog seems to be the better harmonic octave generator and has some really great and unique sounds.

  • Great demo. I spent hours with both pedals before I saw this and reached the same conclusion. The Pitchfactor has some nice tricks, notably intelligent pitchshifting and those (what are they?) harmonised delays, but they're not effects I'd use. For everything else the Hog won, and was much easier to use too. I bought one and am discovering excellent new sounds every time I use it.

  • defintily one of the better demos out htere for sure... great job man. both are awesome but i think the hog wins out. i love some of the things the pitchfactor can do that he hog cant though :( i feel like you can achieve some of that stuff with a microsynth, a digitech timebender, or a boss ps-3 though.

  • You can do the harmodulator, micropitch, and others, with a CV controller like the Moog CP251 or MP201, RobotFactory Modbox, or CopilotFX Broadcast box (those are cheaper and smaller than the Moogs)-- You use a Sample&hold LFO into the HOG's exp input for harmodulator like tones, and a triangle LFO for the micropitch/chorus
