I'm afraid that yes, Trini, Rocky and Zack all die during the course of this fanfilm as part of Lord Zedd's initial surprise attack(Mini-episodes 3 and 4, when I get to them). I realize that this sort of thing is very dark for Power Rangers, but I did this partly as a tribute to the late actress who played Trini and because I could not have two red, yellow, black and pink original Rangers running around at the same time due to the confusion it would cause.

The Super Sentai series did actually used to have rangers die during the series, but they stopped doing that with Tommy's first counterpart Burai.

By the way, I was way off. The last time a team member stay dead was with the Quantum Ranger's counterpart. Outside of that, allies of the teams have been killed as well. There have also been cases characters that were killed, but later brought back to life, and were presumed dead but later revealed to be alive.
