While I agree that the Avett's currently blow Mumford out of the water, I don't know if the two should be so readily compared. The Avett Brothers draw a lot of inspiration from the rock world and have been making music for more than a decade. Mumford and Sons prefer soulful inspiration and are relatively young.

I couldn't disagree more. The Avetts and M&S are two of my favorite bands, and I don't think in any way The Avett Brothers would upstage Mumford, or vice versa. In my opinion, seeing Mumford and Sons and the Avett Brothers in one concert together would be amazing.

This is the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina (near Scott & Seth Avett's home town of Concord, NC). This concert took place on August 8, 2009, and was originally planned to be the release show for I & Love & You. But on June 21, 2009 the ILY release date was officially moved back to September 29, 2009.

On drums is Mike Marsh of Dashboard Confessional. He played a handful of shows (and Letterman) with the Avetts before they settled in with Jacob Edwards on drums in 2010.
