What made me sad was not the story that he told, what made me sad was the loss that did occur. You don't hate something simply because it's not perfect or disappointing. What I've learned about racism is that it's not driven by actions or perceived this or that. We have something. It is just extremely difficult to find. Many other non-White races in America have something because they are new here, either second or third generation. that goes back only 100 years. Black people were randomly taken from the African continent and were used as tools so our African roots were lost. Today, in the age of information, globalization and technology it is easier to trace our roots and culture.
Those other races brought their culture with them. Black people were bought and traded.
I found out after some investigation my ancestors may be from north east Africa, mid-east Asia and/or India. Now I don't base this off of historical or technological evidence but foreigners from those areas think I am one of them lol. And when I think about it, and see photos of them in their countries, I must say I do look like them enough to convince me that there may be something.

With all due respect to the victims; There are museums dedicated to the survivors, and part of the pain in this scenario is the suggestion it may not have happened. Part of that gap is the shame in wanting to sweep it under the rug. I am not saying it would be easy, I am saying people deserve an honest recall of events and a diplomatic approach as to the damage of these treatments. We have something. It is just extremely difficult to find. Many other non-White races in America have something because they are new here, either second or third generation. that goes back only 100 years. Black people were randomly taken from the African continent and were used as tools so our African roots were lost. Today, in the age of information, globalization and technology it is easier to trace our roots and culture.

I found out after some investigation my ancestors may be from north east Africa, mid-east Asia and/or India. Now I don't base this off of historical or technological evidence but foreigners from those areas think I am one of them lol. And when I think about it, and see photos of them in their countries, I must say I do look like them enough to convince me that there may be something.

With all due respect to the victims; There are museums dedicated to the survivors, and part of the pain in this scenario is the suggestion it may not have happened. Part of that gap is the shame in wanting to sweep it under the rug. I am not saying it would be easy, I am saying people deserve an honest recall of events and a diplomatic approach as to the damage of these treatments. It seems as though there needs to be a sentiment for one another's humanity in this situation.
