my brther has the same problem with the spool up on his cummins mud truck too. He fixed it by putting the nitrous port going into the turbo at a angle so it spins the compresser wheel too make it spool faster,
Ha ha... crazy Americans with their crazy powered trucks! Love it! I really enjoy your approach to motor sport, put a massive engine in it and tune and turbo the bejesus out of it! Love the exhaust sticking out of the bonnet, blowing huge smoke out. Sweet truck. :)
@TNunnelee Well you certainly achieved your goal, that thing is a beast. I have seen a lot of powerful trucks on here, with 1000bhp and 1000 nM, but the way this thing revs and goes is awesome. Good stuff! :)
@Boomer8404 You know, that has been my complaint too. The race it pretty much won at the start, because who ever can get ahead is going to take that inside lane (thats how we usually win if we are on the outside).
When are y'all coming to the Sheridan track?I have seen you run before in louisiana in person and alot of people ask why you don't come. Our last race is the 25th of September Which is on a Saturday
We are actually not running at all this summer, we decided to work on our tractor pulling truck instead. We do plan on getting back in next summer....we definitely had more fun mud racing that tractor pulling. So see you next summer.
obviously not just the motor, but a good driver too...a good sportsman would congratulate you for beating them...cry babies allways cry foul...keep up the good work and be safe
At first I didn't believe Mr. Hensley could make the diesel work in a mud racing application, although I admired his spirit and engineuity. I know see that I may have been wrong. Congratulations Chester.
Nah, it was still an experimental motor. We had it dino tested and thought we had everything worked out, but this was the first time we brought it out and ran so long...we ended up with engine failure in the last video. We will be back this year.
Ray, Chester speaks VERY highly of you. I have to admit I too am impressed with the truck YOU built. We hauled a large camper to Talladega last year and it pulled and ran like a cadillac! Everyone was VERY impressed.
Man that track looks awsome! We are in discussion on weather our truck could survive a track like that. Are there any diesels in competition there? Looks like a bunch of high power alcohol or gas burners.
its a mixture of a Chevy powerglide trans and a stock 208 transfercase and all summed up with a 14 bolt GM rear axle. Oh and there is a GM corp10 front axle. Thats about all I can tell you without giving out our trade secrets.
Hi have personally met Chester and been in this truck and it is bad ass!! He is very smart with these things and i expect many good things out of him. I hope to go and meet him and watch him race and hopefully sumhow help out beacause i have been to his shop and he is a great mechanic!
This is going to be one of the best things ever in this sport and the diesel community!
I got to give it to you guys! That is a great thing for not only mud racing, but the entire diesel community! Glad to see it is comming together for you!
You may be correct... This was the first time we dominated and some people I don't think were very happy about it. Unfortunately there are no other classes...Super Modified is the highest class.
We ended up having minor engine failure. Due to excessive heat, a valve seat failed. We were not in the points race so we stopped racing to prevent further damage. It was only a year ago that we first ran this idea of a Cummins Race engine to the AMRA (check my other videos, the SPEED channel was there and filmed it. That was the first time it was ever raced) This year was fine tuning, next year we plan on competing!

@Eyeball1975 Thanks, this was an experiment to see if we could make a diesel engine run as fast as an alcohol engine. Thanks for being a fan!

@Eyeball1975 its only a 5.9. not a massive engine. almost comparable to a 350 sbc in displacement.

What kinda crap is that track. The driver on it inside lane always has the advantage, the splash and spray drowns out the outside lane.

What's he running for drivetrain, I know it takes a hell of a stout drivetrain to hold that kinda power with tractor tires

How in the heck does that 208 and 10 bolt live, they have to hate life at that power level
BTW, what the truck make for power anyway
