  • Almost forgot about the Peter Pan cartoon, those were the days!

  • Is this suppose to have sound?

  • Channel 6 and cartoons makes me think of "Simpsons" and "Ninja Turtles". At least Batman, Power Rangers (they even brought back a remix of the classic theme), and My Little Pony are still on in a more modern way.

  • I LUV DUCKTALES, ALADDIN THE SERIES, TALESPIN AND DARKWING DUCK MOST OF THE TIME. THE ONLY DVDs I HAVE: DUCKTALES, DARKWING DUCK AND TALESPIN. I'M CURRENTLY CALLING MIMI & BUBBA TO FETCH THE 4th DVD FROM THE DISNEY AFTERNOON DVD LIBRARY WHICH IS ALADDIN THE SERIES.

  • Disney Afternoon had the second ever known use of monolithic credits (the first being "The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbara" in 1985).

  • I member this being on WPIX 11 this must be another state playing this on fox. These were the days, loved watching this everyday till 1997, they had good shows on fox 5 ny too but i didn't watch all the time, i also liked how ninja turtles came on after all these shows at 5 pm

  • I remember The Disney Afternoon, although I rarely watched it.

  • Ah those were the days! But luckily you guys had VCR's so we can watch vintage clips TILL WE DIE! Even better more, and more of this stuff is getting put on DVD!

  • the good old before Fox gone D---bag

  • Best time EVER ESPECIALLY Gummy bears & Talespin

  • So I look back on this, and find out the poster taped it when he was only 4? Its amazing how many people on YT were working VCRs so young. Next I'll learn that they bought the VCRs with their own money...(lol)

Well I came back to the clip, because I recently had a dream I was in 1990 again! Weird, I know. I still think us late Gen-X, early Gen-Y kids were the last to enjoy real great entertainment.

  • Fruits snacks were so hot in the 90's..

  • OMG why dont we all make youtube videos or write to the networks requesting to bring these classics back that we the viewers do not like the crap on today!

  • me too gummi bears ducktales chip n dale rescue rangers and talespin disney afternoon ruled i missed it sooo much mine was kcpq 13 fox i lived in gorst at the time it was staticy but i didnt mind it any i looooved to watch it no matter what

  • @staticmunk7777 I can barely remember these days but I remember them. Mine was also kcpq 13 fox. Rofl I think I still have that kids club card too >.>;

I remember they had a bird mascot with a female host then she left and a guy replaced him. I dont remember their names but I remember they went around the western washington area with various locations. Ah my childhood times back in these days are gone but never forgotten. Sad that kids today cannot watch the quality toons of our yesteryears.

  • @C0rruptedShad0w i know it makes me so sad those days are gone but the happy memories are always there thanks to youtube and wonderful people like you showing the recordings form vhs tape thank you agian this is trully a treasure

  • god i miss the disney afternoon. and fox kids too.

  • OMG!! I'm speechless!! I remember every single one of these commercials!!

  • I saw the Nostalgia Critic praise "Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates". And I liked the theatre company's performance while I was at Carleton University recently, and it was excellent for a relatively "amateur" production.

  • I Have A Group On Surf's Up Fruit Snacks

  • I was born in 1982. The greatest time of my life was 87-95. Everything sucks now! FUCK THE FUTURE!!!!!!

  • @FuccThatShitNigga I feel ya no wonder I cried when the Y2K bug didn't happen I'm surprised we all on here who find this time shitty haven't joined a long line hand and hand jumping 138ft off the Tappan Zee

  • wow i keep forgetting how cartoon used to be a few years ago when they werent afraid to show weapons. they shud seriously bring tht back cuz that will keep kids interested :)

  • rah guy i remember this

  • so this had to be FOX6 in Alabama or what

  • I used to have that Hot Keyz keyboard.

And Disney Afternoon was always something to look forward after school.

Oh man good times! I wish I could relive my childhood.

  • OMG I wish i lived in these times!!!!

Why does the world have to change...

  • The Disney Afternoon, Yes Yes Yes! I used to watch this every afternoon after school, Darkwing Duck was probably my favorite.

  • damn yo society for changing!!

  • Old school sat. morn/ Weekday Afternoon: FTW! :D

    New school: FML :(

P.S. the Peter Pan & the Pirates theme was used on the Famliy Guy episode "Long John Peter" when peter was fighting the british person.

  • this is amazing tv shows for kids are really weird...funny my 7 year old niece likes 80s cartoons more than what she sees today...goes to show the 80s -90s rule

  • Where's The Delorean when u need it? HOme Alone CLAssic. We all had a little bit of Kevin in us when we where kids. lol

  • love it. why did have to change ggggggrrrrrrr! i would give anything to go bak to the 80 and 90s.

  • I do not know how the kids of today can stand this!

THESE SHOWS NOW ADAY SUCK ASS!

    YOU CAN NEVER WATCH CARTOONS!

    I WOULD DIE!

CARTOONS ONLY ON THE WEEKENDS WHAT THE HELL!

    DAMN YOU BILL CLINTON!!!!!

  • I agree. I hate the life there is now and I do anything to go back to the past.

  • no they apparently it was due to stop the competition on weekday cartoons that it was pressured by local television. Bill Clinton signed the E/I law in 1996 and that had declined weekday cartoons, but not to due to a certain extant. Now you can watch tv on satellite/cable, online. Weekday cartoons on local television is still present, but less. Saturday cartoons is also. But there is a reassurance in weekday cartoons and saturday cartoons, but this took awhile to do anyway. i miss those days...

  • Hey I was a member of the DJ Kat club in NYC....

  • Thanks for the post. It brings back memories of childhood. I do agree with the previous posts that kids today don't have many family oriented shows to watch after school. I do find it weird that grown people would want to watch afternoon cartoons.

  • its not weird at all, if u feel a little Nostalgic than go for it

  • My Fox Affiliate's current Afternoon lineup:

    12PM to 1PM - Judge Alex

    1PM to 2PM - Divorce Court

    2PM to 3PM Judge Mathis

3PM to 4PM Judge Joe Brown

    4PM to 5PM Jerry Springer

    5PM to 6PM Maury Povich

    UGH.

My childhood we be intolerable if I were growing up today.

  • That's what my local network plays nowadays. It's sad that a channel that 20 years ago would play classics like the Jetsons or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sticks to this garbage.

  • Well, I'm grateful to you and all the other YouTube users who have taken the effort and time to share these afternoon memories of the past. If for a brief moment, they take me back to a place and time I actually felt I understood.

  • My FOX's lineup involves:

    12:00 - Judge Joe Brown

    12:30 - Judge Alex

    1:00 - The People's Court

    2:00-3:00 - Paid Programming

    3:00-4:00 - Star Trek

    4:00-5:00 - AMFV

I miss FOX KIDS after school! I'm so glad that I did my grow up process in the 90s! I see my 7 year old cousin with limits on what to watch because everything else is polluted with filth! Makes me sad that this is what they're limited to!

  • I totally agree with you, it sad to see theres nothing for children these days on TV everything is about that mighty dollar, I would really like to know what happend to the TV station owners?????....What a damn shame

  • @Skull10 So true! How sad, Fox's afternoon used to be so happy and enjoyable, now they've just added to TV's vast wasteland! I miss my childhood days of the Disney afternoon!

  • @meloyellowduck Kids today probably think we are just a bunch of fuddy duddies whining about the "good all days", but the fact is, we DID have it much better.

  • @Skull10 u live in dayton b/c thats my fox afternoon lineup!!

  • @ThomasHankyPank Dayton area.

  • @Skull10 You would think there might be a flood of lawyers too come in the near future! =p

  • @TheNattak That's all we need...

  • Comment removed

  • @Skull10 I feel ya you can blame the FCC for that one. wanting to severly limit advertising towards kids I mean they could've compromised. so networks didn't find showing weekday cartoons profitable due to regulation. whoever came up with that law I wish upon them chronic gas out the ass and age badly to the point where they make Rosie O Donnell and Sandra Bernhard look sexy.

I hope the FCC repeals dat law one day. if I had that childhood with no cartoons I'd spend that block looking @ porn

  • Thanks a lot FCC. Jackasses.

  • @Skull10 HORRIBLE LINEUP FOR A CHILD! How do kids live today! They just dont know any better

  • Ah, memories of third grade...I miss disney afternoons!!! :)

  • How did you get this? Did you record this?

  • Yeah.

  • i remember them all as if they aired yesterday

  • I'm in Kindergarten again!

  • lol keytar

  • Ducktales are the bomb.

  • duck tales mmm......IT WILL NEVER DIE IT WILL NEVER DIE!!!

  • that apple jacks commercial is catchy :)

  • Batteries not Included?! Bastards!!

  • I'm doing a video interview with Uncle Murph and putting it up on you tube soon!

  • Man, whatever happened to the 90s? I want those days back! Fox was da' best and now...it's gone to the dogs! They need a Fox nostalgia channel for this kind of stuff.

Thanks Reiji...you made my day and I feel like a kid again.

  • As long as it was a nostalgia channel, I wouldn't care if it were Fox or not. Maybe something similar to how USA was in the early 90's....

  • @ReijiThePhantom Question How did the Disney Afternoon get the full video of TaleSpin Plunder and Lighting when we only saw the movie all cut up and in the credits it shows Home is where the heart is but we all know that it did'nt show up in the TV version of the movie??

  • I never really like Apple Jacks. Oh damn I remember that big sheet theirs hole in the middle where you have to get that ball in their. I never I MEAN EVER MISS A EPISODE OF DUCK TALES AFTER SCHOOL THAT'S ALL I WATCH.

  • I love this mn!!

  • I have Home Alone on video and DVD!

  • 4:05-4:34 crappy young ppl and their fake rock n roll lol.ahhh i miss these days

  • ducktales was the shit im 20 and it went to fast :(

  • damn seem like yesterday...........hard to believe this was 19yrs ago

  • I bet you million dollars that if they put these commericals back on today they would sell this shit like hotcakes.

  • I know. I still can't believe that I'm not in second grade anymore.

  • Talk about a blast from the plast. Where the hell does time go???? Life goes by too fast!

  • Talespin was THE SHIT!

22 years has gone by way too fast, I miss these days. :(

  • Right. Im 23 and I remember all the good cartoons back and the day. Talespin and Ducktales being my favorites. Now its likes cartoons have gone to CRAP now. Wth is with kid programming shows these days? its like every cartoon is trying to be the next spongebob or something.

  • Which is a good idea for another Downfall rant.

  • Point in fact: The Misadventures of Flapjack

Nothin'' but a whole Spongebob hack-off...

  • Back when legos were something.

    LOL! Home Alone.

Peter Pan & the Pirates was an awesome show, especially since Tim Curry did the voice for Capt. Hook. :)

  • :O I HATE THE NEW TOONS ON THE NEW FOX ... im a sad 24 year old :X

  • i remember some of these. damn i am old.

  • zach the lego maniac....yeah

  • I MISS THESE TIMES SO MUCH

  • "Batteries not included." Famous words from 90's commercials. lol

  • Hey im looking for an old cartoon but dont know what is called i forgot but here some descrption...It was a nun taking care of oprphan girls that wore yellow dress an d it was in paris please reply back been looking for the name so i can search it up

  • Um.... Madeline?

  • I miss Fox Kids..i hate 4kidstv..load of crap -_-

  • I'm about to go buy me a HOT KEYZ keyboard, and some Surf's Up fruit snacks.

  • Little Rosie!!! I thought I was the only one who remembered that cartoon. And you're right, it sucked ass.

  • oh snap the m-tron, home alone, freakin duck tales, the hot keys keyboard, peter pan. man how the times have changed.

  • I Love how cereal boxes back than had a white background aroudn the cereal name.

  • We have memories while we grew up with these!! Damn Fox for killing the Kids Network!!!!!!!

  • yeah but fox made up for it with family guy, american dad, married with children, simpsons so its all good

  • Replace "Married With Children" with Futurama, and I'd agree with you.

  • This brings back so many memories. I miss the 90s, such an awesome time for me. I must say this brought a smile to my face (and also made me feel old).

    +^_^+

  • damn, ducktales, chip n dale and talespin all had the best theme songs. shows like that were the best haha.

  • LEGOs!!!

I had crates full of those things LoL

  • I wasn't even alive in 1990, but I guess that HotKeyz thing was the old Guitar Hero?

  • i had that hotkeyz it was cool

  • Wow! how things were back then! \:S

  • The Telecom Act of '96 killed arfternoon cartoons. TV networks needed to meet a quota of educational content if they were to air kid's shows. The act was counter-productive when some networks realized it was easier to drop kid's cartoons which meant they can legally not worry about the quota.

Instead of making TV more better for kids like the Telecom Act intended, it did the opposite since there was nothing left for kids to watch. Goddamn Telecom Act and its loophole

  • I learned a bunch of things from Power Rangers and Beetleborgs.

Nowadays you have cable tv networks like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon which just so cartoons that are going to do one of two things, give you cancer from how stupid they are, or they will cause you to commit suicide when you realize that what we had was so much better than the crap they put out today.

  • Was there a TV spot to The Rescuers Down Under in this video?

  • life was so simple then..

  • I was 5 1990. This is like watching part of my childhood.

  • Ah, the fuzzy, indistinct, desaturated texture of VHS.

  • Everything has to start somewhere...now we have really distinct, super clear, super BORING! (I'd take fuzzy fun over that anyday!) :-)

  • The Disney Afternoon: The birth of the credits squeeze!

  • Omg Apple Jacks, I remember a lot of these commercials when I was 5, it's weird that I remember these ads so well and I haven't seen them in like 18 years.

  • Those were days when coming home from school was exciting. Now it's nothing but news and court shows on during the weekday afternoon hours.

  • I agree with you? everyday from 2pm to 5pm cartoons ruled weekday afternoons! Damn I miss those days!

  • god i miss being a kid!

  • The Disney Afternoon was often shortened to "TDA" in 1994 and the closing credits changed to a pink background, but the shows were still good through the Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Bonkers, Aladdin, Gargoyles, Timon & Pumbaa, and Hercules eras. TDA lasted until '98, when most shows were deferred to the Toon Disney network.

  • HOME ALONE IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE

  • This makes me glad to have been born in the 90s because it was really the last generation that got to experience the golden age of t.v. music and etc.

  • Thanks for the trip back, I forgot how good TV used to be. By the way when was the last time has anybody seen a commerical for Apple Jacks? Do they still make those?

  • I loved Lego M-Tron. And Duck Tales. This video fills me with glee.

  • I'm just amazed that 18 years ago I wouldnt have wanted to see these. Now I'm actually looking for them.

  • when 2005 came everything went upside down....oooohhh tha memories

  • Make that 2001 with 9/11.

  • I missed all of those old Fox cartoons like: "Dog City", "Beetle juice","X-Men", "Tazmania","Bobby's World", "Eek the Cat" and many more. The networks should bring all of those shows back just for good ol' sakes.

  • I had a hot keyz keyboard!!!!

  • lol damn i still watch home alone

  • Remember when Fox was for kids and they aired /good/ cartoons? Those were the days.

  • Yeah. Then 1997-1998 came and the beginning of the end happened. Sure, things were still okay for the moment but you could pretty much trace the downfall right there when both Spider-Man and X-Men ended and they lost Batman: The Animated Series to KidsWB. Then of course 2001 came and they ended their weekday lineup. Things were never the same after that ):

  • i know sadly theres no weekday cartoons ong good saturday morning cartoons like now abc fox and nbcair a bunch of CRAP man i miss this stuff and the other beginning of the end for cartoons was the demise of one saturday morning i miss pepper ann and recess on abc I LOVE THE 90's! (and 80's);)

  • ya i do anyone rember transformers RID (robots in desiguise) and the disney afternoon? ah good times.........

  • A is for afi sill kids

  • I was born 1986 and I still remember the late 1980's but most of all grew up as an 1990's kid. The 90's rock. Today is just blah. Stupid TV shows and stupid cartoons they have today.

  • it shows commercials and also its from one saturday morning

  • oh AND BY THE WAY it has commercials and its from one saturday morning.

  • i miss the 90s like classic legos and..... ONE SATURDAY MORNING i have a pepper ann thanksgiving episode on vhs but how do i post it someone please tell me!

  • wow even the commercials were cool everything in the 90's was the best i mean there was kids rapping there was that sweet lookin toy(Hot Keyz..wish i had onethere was Legos(even if they still exist this year)i mean it was the year to grow up and be a kidit bring alot alot of memories i used to do alot of sweet stuff with Legos..Luv The 90's

  • omg duck tails i love that show i had all the toys

  • i miss being a kid.... :'(

  • do you know that disney afternoon is not made for 20th fox century am likeing the commercials a lot

  • Brings back memories.

  • Holy neon clothes, Batman!!

  • FOX6? Is that San Diego?

  • Yep.

  • look at all the pastel colors!

  • 90s r always gonna b the best years of my life

  • Thank you so much for this footage. The apex of my prepubescent childhood, it just doesn't get any better.

  • LOL I remember this. The Disney Afternoon used to come on the local Norfolk,Va Fox affilate WVBT yes, I also remember Fox's Peter Pan.Don't forget Tiny Toons was also on Fox.

If I'm not mistaken, this video is dated: December 1990(either Wednesday the 12th or 19)because most of these previews were re-runs.

  • Actually, since these are from the same day as pt. 2. Since Home Alone was now playing at the time, yet Robot Jox had yet to come out and didn't come until the week later on a Wednesday, it has to take place on either Friday the 16th, or Tuesday the 20th of November (right before Thanksgiving no less!). I know it can't be Monday because I have some commercials taped from the previous day.

  • I thought that Thanksgiving in 1990 was on the 29th since 11-29-90 was the fourth thursday of the month. You could be right. After all, you taped this and are probably older then me(I was almost 8 at the time.)

  • Since the 21st was a Wednesday and the 22nd was a Thursday, the third Thursday would be the 15th, the 2nd would be the 8th, and that would leave the first day as the 1st.

And I'm actually younger: I had only turned five at that time a couple months earlier. I have a good memory though: I can remember going to Yosemite National Park back when I was just 1 year old in '86.

  • I'm also really good with dates. I actaully can memorize the day of the week I was born: Monday on 12-27-1982 at 2:25 PM. I get that from my biological father. My earliest memory is from June 1984 when I was about 18 months old. I have photos from then taken by my aunt. I can remember the type of TV my mother had"Goldstar" and the car she drove a now defunct 1979 AMC cutlass even though there are no surviving photos of her car.

  • I remember that Peter Pan cartoon; that came on after "Family Ties" and before "Merrie Melodies" and "Tiny Toons" on my former Fox Affiliate KSHB Channel 41. I used to watch those every weekday after prekindergarten.

The "Disney Afternoon" was on KZKC (now KSMO) Channel 62. Ahh...those sweet, sweet memories of the early '90s!

  • One of my friends have some Disney Afternoon on tape. He told me that it aired on WPGH (FOX), which was the same channel that aired DBZ and Sailor Moon in 1998-1999.

  • miss these day's if i coul i'd go back with a time machine and bring my computer with me so i could record these old shows :)

  • those was the dayz i miss the 90's

  • WOW! this brings back memories. I loved the show Peter Pan And The Pirates.

  • This is Fox 6 San Diego. Its XETV because the transmitter is in Tijuana and the station office is in San Diego.

  • i miss these days so much! I use to watch those cartoons everyday after school.

  • I can remember watching them on then-KBHK (now KBCW, but still on channel 44) as a little baby every day around 3:00 PM back in the early '90s. Wish it'd come back!

  • I use to have the Hot Keyz
