  • Did you use GOMAD?

  • I didnt believe I was losing fat% until I got my bod pod results back in yesterday (the end of the 30 days.)

I was going for straight mass gain no matter how I got there (thus the high milk and carb consumption) and my plan was to cut down once i bulked up.

I had no idea that my body fat % was going down because I was eating SO DAMN MUCH and I always felt full, all day long the food baby felt like it was there.

My only cheat supplement was that I was using alpha lipoic acid before meals.

  • For feeding, I ate roughly 3,500 to 4,00 kcal a day and roughly 210 to 230 grams of protein. Mostly whole food but I used at least 1 whey protein shake each day, sometime as much as 3. I was eating beans and rice everyday. usually 2 slices of whole wheat bread too. I also tried to drink at least a Liter of 2% milk each day too. However I cut out all fruit, soda, and cheese. I was pretty much only drinking water and red wine on certain nights before bed.

  • I just finished my first month of geek to freak (modified slightly). I used a BOD POD before and after to track fat gain/loss and weighed myself on a scale daily at home. The results over 30 days? Body Fat % reduced from 11.7% to 8.1%, lean mass went up 10.75 lbs, from 163.4 lbs to 173.9 lbs, and total weight increased from 184 lbs to 189 lbs.

I did 2 workouts a week, about 6 exercises each workout, 2 sets each, each set to failure with 3 minute breaks between them.

  • 34 lbs. of Muscle in 4 Weeks

"I estimate that I was consuming between 5,000-8,000 calories per day in 5 or 6 divided meals, which is a full-time job" - Tim Ferris,The only way to accomplish this, is by quitting your job and start eating full time, a diet that Jay Cutler MR.Olympia can barely follow.

If you gained 34lbs in 4 weeks, im open to watch your video and please talk about your diet. Thanks!

  • Being a mesomorph I found it difficult to make gains. The lifting was relatively easy compared to the eating. I literally ate until I felt sick. I wouldn't suggest doing more than 2 x/year.

My 2nd X I added a calorie supp (Russian Bear) which ended up costing me - the calories were not burned - thus were stored as fat. I didn't time intake right. I'd stick to Tim's routine.

Tim will tell you himself that he was buff in High School and had some muscle memory to his advantage. Still incredible.

  • @TheCompleteSelf correction: I'm an ectomorph not a mesomorph. :)

  • Did you post the second video? I couldn't find it.

  • @puredemo What I have is on my blog. Read the discussion on my blog. Search for "tim-ferriss-geek-to-freak-starts-next-week" blog is at TheCompleteSelf [dot] com

  • @TheCompleteSelf How many calories did you consume to gain 10 lbs? Must have been 4000+?

  • @The3nlightened0ne - yes, it was 5,000 - 8,000. It was very hard for me to do so on a daily basis. Not something I would do long term since many times I was pretty much forcing myself to consume more than I "felt" necessary.
