It is 2012 and there has been a flying car that was approved by the FAA. It is called the Terrafugia and you can find this on youtube. There is also Skype(You're Fired), Wii(video games without using hands), touch screen menus in some restaurants, etc.

Robert Zemicks did a terrific job predicting technology or it was inspired by this movie.
