  • Razor really does shit all over Massive... and CamelPhat3, and FM8.... :S

  • Im gonna buy this and massive :D

  • Please, I need help. I already created a preset which i will be using for my upcoming dubstep song. I am using fl 10. So i have already played with speed button with my mouse but how can i save it with different speeds? I have tried show in structure key but couldn't do anything. Plese be kind enough to help this noob.

  • @Duroley In the FL wrapper that razor is in, click the little dropbox box in the top left corner, and click browse parameters. All the parameters of the vst should show up in the browser. On Razor click the parameter (In this case the LFO speed) and it will jump to it on the browser; right click it and click 'create automation clip'. You can then adjust the speed with an automation clip. Alternately make clones of razor, one for each speed. This will be more CPU heavy mind.

  • @joehburrell Thanks for your help. I appreciate that!

  • Sexiest. Voice. Ever.

  • ok , month's expenditure to increase

  • My scooter doesn't do this... :(

  • hey how do you open up any of the NI V. instruments in ableton, for some reason I can't seem to get it.

  • @DjXotix I know this response is a bit late, but if you havent figured it out yet; make sure that their .dll(that or .exe cant remember exactly) files are in your VST search folder. You can find this in the preferences menu.

  • neh i fixed it, it was being send to bus 6 wich had stutter edit on it haha my bad lol

  • if i follow these exact steps then i get a sound that has almost no bass in it compared to yours any idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • @Th3Piratron you are probably pressing the wrong key.

  • my razor doesn't make any sound anyone know what to do thanks

  • @monsterenergymixxd8 if you are using it standalone you have to have a midi keyboard connected (pretty sure), or if you're opening it up in a DAW such as ableton, logic you can use the built in sequencer.

  • @monsterenergymixxd8 soundcard

  • CrystalCircuit, what Razor instrument did you use to create this sound?

  • If I have Reaktor Player is it possible for me to open a new sound?

  • This is a stupid question but how do you even record on razor

  • @1AirBattle Razor is an instrument. You use it as a plugin in a DAW such as Logic or Ableton Live. And you use a midi controller to play the notes and automation to adjust the sync rate of the wobbles.

  • @FreekSharkHD u use ur freakin Ni-Maschine to play it, no easier why to assign all those knobs and just tweak the shit outta it.

  • can u play it with the maschine mikro hardware???

  • I have a question: How do you set a "default" or a "new" template/preset to start?? Like Massive, when you start only with 1 saw osc and nothing else.

  • hey dude, good vid, say i want to change the LFO speed after iv recorded the bass already, how do I do that? I've tried switichin between read, and write etc and it still doesn't record it... any help would be MAAD

  • Bought Razor last night - Am very impressed! I will be using it to make dark, tech-step sounding drum & bass tracks but this tutorial has nonetheless given me a nice little basis to build up from. Cheers!!

  • hey man im looking into buying razor. i already dj and have a setup but i was just wondering what kind of controller you use for this program? or do u only use ur mouse?

  • @TheRELENTLESS920 lol your a dj? ever tried producing or using a program besides vurtual dj?? Just a question, its called midi most everything runs on it these days, if your program runs midi than any midi key board with sliders and nobs will work. I recomend ableton live for program and run razor via vst through ableton then key map the razor nobs u want to ableton and then midi your controller (theres hundreds out there, recomend the axiom 2nd gen by m-audio) vwala high voltagebass/killerlead

  • im gonna pretend i understand whats going on.

  • I figured this out, it's much easier than I thought. First, it's more intuitive to leave the knob value as it is, as opposed to controlling each step. That's just my opinion, maybe others like it rigidly mapped out, as in another tutorial using layers. I think it's more fun having a looser feel, especially for live, and anyway just thought I would share that in case others were in the same boat as myself.

  • Just wanted to say - good start on a nice bass patch. I created a library of Patches for Razor and a 45 min. video tutorial package called "Evil Razor". I share the patches and step you thru the plug-in over at my video channel.

    Nice Job, Crystal C!

  • who do you play the sound without any equipment?

  • I guess in FL Studio you can use an automation clip ... but I would still appreciate any other insight to that. It would be great to have a knob assigned to eigths, quarters, 16ths etc.

  • Is there a way to automate the wobble, switching it between matching for example whole notes, quarter notes 16ths etc?

  • @meshlife88 yes. idk how but yes. you can do anything reaktor can do... but i am not a master so i cant tell you how :p

  • @ddogthepimp Right on, thanks. I think I found a way, but I just have to try it. There's another youtube video that shows doing it with layers somehow.

  • It Eats CPU haha

  • anyone else not receiving their serial number?

  • @Xend54 nvm about that comment, i bought it on a weekend.... that's why

  • @Xend54 I had the same problem. It took about ten days. Don't know what their deal is, but I bugged them like three time, finally I got it. On the other hand, it was worth the wait!

  • @meshlife88 yea :) it was. i got it!

  • Just bought it - worth every penny.

    A brilliant synth.

    Bendigedig.

  • Nice mate :D thinking about getting this

  • oh man this synth was maaaade for dubstep

  • I love how visual it is. Only $40 over the next 5 days? I'm down.

  • @Viewsk8 me too!!! :D just got it it's awesome

  • @Viewsk8 it's the best thing ever :D i just bought it!!!

  • i watched this to hear his voice

  • Its init patch - go to sounds - errosmith - init patch at the top, will completely load a fresh patch everytime.

  • are you using a preloaded sound or what to star off with if so which one

  • Razor shits all over Massive!!

  • @PhokusOner you mean its worse or better ?

  • @1psmaxes lol better man!

  • @WavebiteDubstep i cant seem to find a working crack for it :( also does it work in fl studio

  • @1psmaxes Just buy it man, it's pretty cheap and you get a pretty big library of sounds!

If you want to get serious about your production, buy from NI :D

  • @WavebiteDubstep how much aexcactly ?

  • @WavebiteDubstep whast the excact price also i cant seem to get reaktor 5 to work decently

  • @1psmaxes It's $79, you may need to update your reaktor. I just did updated mine today.

Also check out the Native Instruments website, there giving away a free Dubstep synth called Scanner!

  • @WavebiteDubstep how am i supposed to use it when i dont have razor :( also i fucked up my massive when trying to install nexus i have nexus in fl studio now but i cant have massive in it anymore :(

  • @1psmaxes wait dude skanner is asum :D i listened to a demo track with it im getting it right away

  • @1psmaxes Man it's so good hey!

The pads are the best I think :D

  • @WavebiteDubstep wait i cant use these in fl studio ?

  • @1psmaxes nah it CAN work

  • @1psmaxes yes you can use Most VST's in FL studio

  • @WavebiteDubstep yes, you can use most VST's in FL studio

  • @1psmaxes Hey man, if you get massive working.

I can send you some awesome dubstep presets i made if you want??

  • @WavebiteDubstep i got a pack of 150 wobbles

a pack of 20 my own pack , and some other packs but yeah yours would complete the collection

  • Comment removed

  • @1psmaxes Scanner runs through Reaktor 5. As long as u have the latest version of that ur good to go!

  • @PhokusOner its pretty too!!!!!!!

  • how do you wire your vocals in the razor for the vocoder patches !!! ?? HELP

  • epic tutorial keep it up !

  • do you need an keyboard for this or can you just do it with th?e mouse

  • @crazyhousemaffia You don't need a midi no.

  • You, Sir, have a perfect voice for tutorials. I just got home and I want to relax and make some sounds, and your voice makes that very easy. (No Homo) :D

  • NI massive

     is way better

  • I'm pretty sure sine and triangle LFOs are exactly the same ;P

  • @ttoxique errrrrrrrrr no.

  • @MistaMase102 ...

    They modulate exactly the same.

Obvious sine and triangle waves SOUND different,

but when used as LFOs they have the same effect.

  • @ttoxique no they do sound different, if your sound is modulated through a sine, its basically completely in-time with the tempo, triangle however, is slightly off beat, unless of course you change the attack of your triangle modulation.

  • @MistaMase102

I'm guessing it depends on the synth, because triangle modulation on an R3 is perfectly beat-synced (if you choose it as an option)

  • LOL @ all these I just got this, how do I use it to make music posts. You guys are really classy stealing from Native instruments and then not having any idea how to use it. Square peg, round hole.

  • What ens did you use to record it, or did u do it differently?

  • Is this a VSTi, for use in any DAW? What does "powered by Reaktor" mean?

  • i love how you say "oscillator"

  • Listen to Kill The Computer

  • the vocoder soundlibary doesnt work -.-

  • your voice is like soothing audible chocolate covered strawberries

  • @254fds wtf? thats alittle overboard dont you think? He has a good voice but sounds like a computer everynow and then ._.

  • what is suddenly wrong with this reality? every idiot suddenly makes dubstep! i can´t hear dubstep at all!

  • wait can u make beats to with this program?

  • @AKVlo no

  • @AKVlo your an idiot, this is a synthesizer not a DAW fool.

  • reaktor is needed? no way with out reaktor?

  • @Reverse98 no

  • Comment removed

  • HOW do you initialize razor?

  • i need this shit

  • @CrystalCircuit how do you automate the LFO without having to touch the nob? I know its kinda a dumb question

  • Do you need Reaktor 5 to do this, or will Reaktor Player do?

  • how do u start with a sound from scratch rather than just altering a preset.?

  • how do you automate the lfo and have the different numbers at the top?(at the end)

  • does another program need to be downloaded to make this RAZOR work? and do i need to get a midi controler to make it work also?

  • @JuanRojas956 you need Reaktor for it to work, but I think you can use the free Reaktor Player available on Native Instrument's website :). And no you don't need a midi keyboard, you can use your computer keyboard with most if not all DAWs and you can just put the midi notes in using your mouse too.

  • does another program need to be downloaded to make this RAZOR work?

  • Wow, BEAUTIFUL synth. Completely want to buy it, and great tutorial. :D

  • How can i automate the LFO Speed for the Wobbles? I Want to do this in FL Studio

  • @HomemadeElectro tweak the Speed in Razor and then go to FL Studio's menu Tools and create automation out of the Last Tweaked. Now you could tell me where to download this :3

  • that last tune was fresh!

  • I'm considering buying this, but i was curious: Is there a tempo input (eg 146) so that parameters like LFO can oscillate at a specific beat?

  • I'm kind off new with making electro music and i don't know exactly how VST's and all that stuff works. I'm using FL Studio and i wonder if this synth works with FL Studio. Would you please help me?

  • @HesTheSmoddKopper A VST is a plug in synth or effect that isn't part of the main program. they can be used to get different sounds to the ones you can get using your main program. Generally they have more detailed options and features and built in effects. if you search free VST synths you can find plug ins you can use in FL Studio. theres also lots of youtube vids on how to add them into FL studio. Native instruments make some really nice plug ins although you need to pay for them

  • I'm kind off new with making electro- music and i don't know exactly how VST's and all that stuff works. I'm using Fruity Loops Studio and i wonder if this synth works with FL studio. Can you please help me?

  • How about fuck that if i can get the bootleg for free . Im not paying 80$ im a struggling college kid on a budget lol so who gots a link with the crack for it ???

  • do you know how to set the lfo to retrigger? or is it only free run?

  • Safe Bass on, Amount and Bass LVL. turned all the way up with slope all the way down. >:D

    YEHAAW!

  • Is there a way i can get a boot leg version of this for FL #9 and crack it ?????? PLz help !!!

  • @crazy234lazy how bout just buy it dude....its $80AU

  • What sound are you using? I am using 5th bass and just using my computer's keyboard. I use a Korg Kaossilator Pro with a Line6 Tone Port (UX1).

  • thanks for the great video! I just got this synth and I'm using it in ableton live with reaktor 5 player (the only way to use it right?). questions: how do you automate things like speed and lfo, and do you know how to midi map those things to knobs and such? thanks!

  • HOW DO WE AUTOMATE THE LFO RATE

  • Great video.

I couldn't help but liken your voice to that of a robot though.

  • Simple and understandable. Thats what i need. Thanks bro.

  • this actually sounds kind of like a razor.

  • this work as a plugin on fl studio ?

  • @DzPr0ductions I think you need reaktor 5 for that.

  • Why the hell do you have to buy Reaktor, 350 £ or something... Allthough there is a Reaktor player (free) but then you can't save your presets.. FUCK U NATIVE INSTRUMENTS! I'll be sticking to massive... no fucking reaktor piece of shit needed there..

  • @FenderStrata Just save it into you're DAW. It's kinda a pain but that's how you can save voices with this.

  • @aiken000 So I have to save them as a fxp patch and put it in a different folder, and from there open it in Razor?

  • @FenderStrata that might work too. but if you are running it off logic/ableton live/protools or any recording software like that. You can save it in the channel strip as a performance setting and just recall it instead of having to recreate the sound everytime you want to use it.

  • how did u automate it?

  • oh and another question, is there any way I can map the "speed" to a knob on my midi keys?

  • crystal cicuit! thanks for the tutorial!

    got any more coming?

  • not meaning to sound like an idiot or anything but do you need a midi keyboard to use this software?

  • Very good demo, thanks!

  • Are you gonna try to do another? Just wondering, because I really want to see how much this thing can do :) oh and by the way, nice tracks

  • I don't see the point of the visualisation.

  • i don't understand, what do you control it with?

  • Can i use those synths in ableton live?

  • @ROFLZuckofski yes, i do so atm!

  • @KVNKWLSK ok thanks :]

  • Excellent tutorial

  • Great demo, thanks.

  • so how do u just stat with a noise to mess around wiht?

  • @esaancurry2 Use the Errorsmith > INIT patch to start with.

  • @CrystalCircuit How do you automate the LFO's? Mind Giving me a message or replying to this? :D or a video would be nice! :D

  • @kaitlynrodriguez Not that I've used Razor (yet), but normally you automate VSTs from within your sequencer.

  • I just got this program and I was wondering how you got the drums in the music? I dont know how to record or creat a beat on the reaktor with razor.

  • I just got this program and I was wondering how you got the drums in the music? I dont know how to record or create a beat on the reaktor with razor.

  • @basilsamara1 you have to have a daw

  • dont think im stupid but how do you make the speed change by itself, please please tell man, cuase in the endin it just changes rapidly U_U

  • @YourNotFunny411 No stress. There are no stupid questions here. What DAW (Sequencer) are you using?

  • @CrystalCircuit newscool and space drone

  • @CrystalCircuit I could use some help with that too, would love how to make it go faster/slower depending on the note you play, as you show here

  • @CrystalCircuit I have the same question as YourNotFunny411, and I was wondering if you could help :) Im using FL Studio as my sequencer

  • @YourNotFunny411 you need to create an automation clip search on youtube how to do it cuz it depends on which DAW you use

  • @YourNotFunny411 you just have to automate it by placing your midi track in the sequencer and then place an envelope on it (depends which program your using how to do this) that is controlling the rate

  • how much is it

  • @SteBATW $80AU. There's a link provided in the description to the NI website where you can buy it.

  • @SteBATW $76.00

  • what samples you used for drums?

  • @numb312 Hey! In this instance we used the 'Boom' sequencer in Pro Tools.

  • pleaseeeeeeeeeee...create tutoriallllllllll....

  • @crazybebodj heeeeee juustttttt did lol

  • Thank you for the reply! Will take in count and check the buffer size etc!

    Cheers!!!

  • Brilliant tutorial! I have a question, I bought it recently and what annoys me is the CPU usage. When I play the sounds or listen to what is recorded in my DAW, it cuts off etc, even when I turn the output low. How can this be managed????

  • @giotronic Thanks giotronic. Razor is a high cpu usage plugin. I'd say you need to look at your buffer settings if you are having trouble with drop outs. A good computer helps also!

  • Might be a real stupid question, but is this better than massive?

p.s it fucking looks better and sounds beter to me, just wondering.

  • @samboguitarist it's not better, it's different. neithers better

  • @samboguitarist im going to say it is, massive is good tho

  • This is an awesome video! Please make more! :D
