Where did all these hippies come from all of a sudden? One minute it was The Strokes, I had to hear about The Strokes all the time. Then the next thing you know, you've got all these Jeffrey Dahmer-looking weirdos singing about crows and bears and Indians.
I know one morning very soon I'm going to wake up and it's going to be like all this never happened. Whereever The Strokes went, the neo-hippies ( I call them Ewoks ) will go. That will be a good day.
i don't consider these guys hippies. they're more going in the tradition of the new york scene, which is generally a little dark and experimental. i mean ewoks? regardless, they're not even comparable to the strokes, who had monumental sucess and huge radio play. also, listen to more of their stuff, because this isn't the all encompassing sound of their music. they do jazz, they do electronic, the do experimental, etc. i don't even know how you found them. prob thru some random search?
@LoneConformist Music has been like this since the 50's. One thing moves in and then things change and another thing comes along. Your only working this out NOW? Such is life, full of changes. Or to put it another way - fashion. It's just people doing something different.
