  • Another thing i'd like to say: Did they wear those Bieber hair during the revolution?? Hm, i dont think so!

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS NICK JONAS DOING THERE? Please, gentlemen, compare Ramin's voice to Jonas'! ¬¬' He is not good at ALL...

  • OH. MY. GOD. After 5:28-5:32, I think I need to go change...wow. Ramin is SO AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL! AND THAT VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want him, in that costume, in my bedroom. At all times.

  • Why the hell is there a Jonas brother?!?!?!

  • (can't reply, on my iPod) @Matt I'm not trying to boast...It was just a surprise to me. Sorry if it sounded like it, but I wasn't trying to :/

  • This is how the cast should have been...

    Ramin Karimloo: Valjean.

That is all I have planned...Oh! And Robert as Gavroche :D

P.S- Just found out something wierd today. I was looking at my friend Robert's(Yes, Robert Madge) Facebook page, and I noticed he looked like Gavroche. And little did I know it's him. I can't believe he never told me! Man, he's gonna get it from me!

  • @PhantomloverSNAFU Oh dear. No need to mention you were friend's really was there? No need to try and boast over the internet :)

  • I think Ramin is good as Ejolras. Sure he would have been great as Marius too, but Enjolras seems like hes really strong and a leader and Ramin's voice shows that. Nick's voice was not a strong and it better reflects Marius who is a vulnerable love struck boy. I think their roles r good for their voices and them themselves

  • Ramin is so amazing ♥! I would have died to see this live.. I hope they do this again with the same exact cast.. Especially with Lea, Ramin, Alfie, and Norm..

  • Ramin's voice gives me goosebumps.

  • Let's face it, Ramin should have been Marius

  • PUT THAT BOTTLE DOWN!!!

  • The kid who plays Gavroche is so cute! I want to keep him.

  • one day ramin should just play every single male role at the same time. i would sell everything of mine to see that.

  • god ramin shouldve taken valjean

  • @Sierraness23 his name is Jamie Muscato

  • Can somebody tell me who is standing next to Nick Jonas/ Marius?

  • @Sierraness23 YES, someone who can sing better obviously.

  • Do you hear the people sing starts at 5:33

  • red- i feel my soul on fire ... most meaningful line!!!

  • I'm not usually a fan of nick jonas, I can't stand the Pop Rock shit he usually does, but in this version of les mis he is pretty good. And Ramin is perfect as the charismatic leader with the brilliant voice.

  • GRANTAIRE, PUT THAT BOTTLE DOWN!

ROFL I love that part! Ramin's amazing!

And don't be mean on Nick, he's got a great voice and I think he did AMAZING as Marius! And maybe he sounds weak compared to the other members of the cast, but come one, he is young! he's got a long way to go, but he started off great, and it's not like he was never on Broadway, he played Gavroche before <3 I loved him as Marius, and I don't care what you say! <3

  • @NiCkJoNaSgIrL7474 The best line in the whole song I agree . . . . and I agree about Nick too, yes he was weak compared to the rest of the cast at times but still good!!

  • lol i love how enjolras is like "dont let the wine go to your brains" then the camera is at grantaire and he looks like his mouth is full of wine and his face is like "who me?"

  • @AnimalLuva2010 I thought I was the only one who noticed!

  • @HorseyWitchOfTheEast XD dont u love how innocent he tries to look

  • @AnimalLuva2010 It's so adorable! Grantaire is my favourite fictional acoholic!

  • @HorseyWitchOfTheEast Same, i've always liked his character for his witty remarks.

  • You guys are so mean to poor nick. He's trying his best, and I am personally impressed that he at least TRIED doing a musical. I love to see a celebrity trying something new.

  • its tough for any male actor to be onstage singing with Ramin. he's a tough act to follow! i could listen to his voice all day!

  • @beachykeeen Unfortunately, I think he would have humiliated himself even cast among a stage full of understudies...he just does not have a good voice for anything but pop. As it was, he was just extremely unlucky and found himself on stage amongst gods...

  • its sad because whatever jonas that is (lol) has talent, but he's with people who have SO MUCH talent and rich voices and he just sounds flat and emotionless compared to them which is so not what the part calls for.

  • Also Nick Jonas is NOT Marius...but whoever played Grantaire in this got it BANG ON :D

  • @JxL483 grantaire is played by hadley fraser and isn't he fabulous!!!

  • Wonderful voice! Although I don't feel he's passionate enough about the revolution to be Enjolras in my mind...although his "Marius you're late" is very very Enjy-ish :) I doo love our dear Ramin's voice though

  • It's killing me, the way NJ's face is just like o_o. The whole .Entire. Time. I honestly get such 2nd hand embarrassment for him watching this.

  • @trombleyscat It is a really poor performance! His voice is not powerful enough either. Cringing whenever he makes noises :( Poor Jonas boy.

  • The part where the guy says "The blood of the martyrs will water the meadows of France" is like one of my favorite lines. I don't know why, but I love that. I also love the part where Ramin is like "Grantaire, put that bottle down!!!!" I LOVE that part. Ramin is amazing!!!

  • Ramin between 5:25 and 7:26 you are the best.

p.s. my apologies to the replay button for killing it over the last 2 weeks but i love les miserables

p.p.s. stop hating on nick jonas he did really well and he's a great singer

  • All of you people who are putting down Nick Jonas are just being prejudiced against him because he is a pop star! He does a fantastic job singing in a musical and I would enjoy to see him in more!

  • @elactress i don't think we're prejudiced. Listen to other singers and listen to Marius from 10th anniversary concert and compare them to Nick Jonas in this concert. Nick Jonas is tearing up his throat just for his voice to be heard even a fraction of other singer's voices. Him singing here just because he is a pop star who could get a few giggling girls to see it is an insult to other singers who got their place there because of their talent.

  • @elactress You know, Nick's problem isn't talent. He was on Broadway as Gavroche, so he can definitely sing. I'm not gonna say that he can't. But his problem is that he isn't theatrically trained, so compared with 'all-star' types like Ramin and Alfie, he is WEAK.

  • @elactress I think "star"is an overstatement exactly how many albums did the Jonas Brothers make ?? 4 I think you're entitled to your opinion I suppose ...technically you are wrong If he were not a "Jonas brother pop starlet ....and he sang like that he would not make it through the first verse at the first open call audition

  • Look at the way Ramin and Alfie (extreme example) sing with control and technique colouring every phrase with depth and meaning...there is no question of them missing a note people with that much training and technique just generally don't mainly what annoys me is I have seen first hand the long long lines of incredible artists at auditions who dont even make it into the chorus who I really think are more deserving of being there ...

  • (02) if they thought they needed a celebrity Marius there are plenty better singers they could have gone with instead Robbie Williams I think would have been a billion times better...why am I so outraged ? several reasons Nick Jonas may or may not have talent but talent on its own is a useless overrated commodity what the rest of the absolutely astounding cast display here is something he really seems to not have any of at all is training and technique

  • @Royalbrettania I'm sure Nick Jonas is talented...he is just not right for this. And I agree; to me it seems they just put him in because he looks the part (barring the fact he cannot act and his face is pretty stationary throughout) and it's a celebrity name to dump in there. It's really a horrible thought :(

  • right... I have a few comments to make might need a few posts to do it ... first let me point out that I am 35 years old and the point of that is that I was never ever the target audience of the Jonas brothers so I have only a vague knowledge that they were a mediocre boy band ..say what you like they were never "that" big they were NOT take that or backstreet boys or Nsync the more I watch this the more this makes the choice of casting him absurd ! (01)

  • This makes Nick Jonas look really bad... just saying...

  • Nick Jonas.... You will never be as good as our Westend Stars... even the 'chorus' are better than you. I saw you live...

But i'll give you credit for trying

  • Ramin Karimloo brings the perfect balance of paternal kindness, sincerity, intensity, bravery, and seriousness. He is the perfect Enjolras.

  • Wow...I'm a fan of NJ but I must admit that Ramin is a better singer...and he's hotter.

  • The first time I saw this I wished Ramin could have been BOTH Marius and Enjolras in this...sadly that's impossible...his voice gives me goosebumps.

  • Compare Nick to Ramin! NICK IS ABSOULTE SHITE, what were they thinking having him play Marius! Ramin, OMG, he is so amazing, he can play any role, his voice just makes me speechless!!!

  • @LOVxxE It's all about who you know, my friend. Apparently, the Jonas Brothers had the right contacts.

  • @suzannemm73 It really is about who you know, and that really annoys me! Instead of going on pure talent! :( I mean all the others were amazing, Except Nick!

  • @aragorio unfortunately

  • I love how when Ramin sings it's so effortless. I wish I could sing like that. *sigh*

  • Grantaire(?)'s "Thankyou!" at the end of his couple of lines about Don Juan... freakin' priceless!

  • I love his laugh at 5:03

  • please dont let that be a jonas brother

  • @aragorio yes it is. It's Nick Jonas.

  • who's playing the role of grantaire?

  • @sadistme Grantaire is played by Hadley Fraser, who co-incidentally is debuting as 'Javert' tonight in the West End. Very talented actor,

  • @sadistme Hadley Fraser

  • I love this musical, be it with Nick or Ramin!

Oh, and I think it's so wonderful when the actor has to laugh at 6:16 ^.-

  • i have just heard Ramin say " Grantaire put that bottle down" 15 times. LOVED EVERYONE!

  • Ramin is a beautiful human with a beautiful voice.

  • "who cares about your lonely soul" LOL

  • I cant believe that Gavroche dies I literally cry when he dies WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Hes so cute

  • @singislove12 same here, i was lucky enough to see Les Mis on the west end a few weeks ago and i was bauling pretty much as soon as intermission ended (Gavroche's death was definitely the worst)

  • i LOVED when Enjy and Grantaire walked off stage with their arms around eachother!!<333

  • @killiannetje I know, and I'm pretty excited :D Gonna see it in July!

  • @veepeecee whereee

  • this grantaire has so much more character and humor than the one in the 10th anniversary version x)

  • Ramin/Enjolras sounds like he's so excited he's about to cry or pass out or something o_o;.

  • This Ramin Guy Is A Pretty Good Enjolras...I Love The Expression He Put In The Phrase "Grantaire, PUT THAT BOTTLE DOWN!!!!" I'm Literally Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Butt Off From That!!!!!!!!

  • I hate Nick Jonas just as much as the next guy, he has no strength in his voice unlike the rest of them, but he's most likely better than any one of us would've been and the good parts of this song only seem better by comparison thanks to him. I have to say that makes this one of his best performances I've ever seen.

  • @monty30101987 Your hate is not appericiated, for a nick jonas hater it looks like he's all you see..Didn't like him..there's a whole buncho of people singing here! EnjoyThe video =)

  • Ramins's expression on 4:09-10 is marvellous gorgeous!

  • wow.....i can accept the jonas brothers ruining bad music but if Nick can ruin one of the greatest musicals of all time.......that says alot about them

  • RAMIN <3<3<3<3<3<3

  • I can't sing, so I didn't get the role of Marius or anyone, but Jonas?

  • Ha! I love how Grantaire raises his bottle to Marius and tells him to have some wine!

  • Let's be honest, Nick Jonas was only there to make all the others look even better.

And I btw love that Grantaire guy, he's so funny (and kinda hot)! But no one can top Ramin and his super passionate voice, one of the best ones I've ever heard, really.

  • @veepeecee I agree with everything you just said!!!!! WHOLEHEARTEDLY!!!

  • @veepeecee He will play Javert now.. (Hadley Fraser)

  • haha i love when Ramin says "Marius you are no longer a child,i do not doubt you mean it well , but now there is a higher call, WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR LONELY SOUL, why strive toward a larger goal, are little lives dont count at all"

  • Thumbs up if you think Ramin should have had a larger role in this!

  • @zelda1fiction1child Enjolras is a pretty big role, hard as hell to sing those G#'s too.

  • @zelda1fiction1child He was an AMAZING Enjolras. And Enjolras is my favorite character.

  • @zelda1fiction1child He is perferct for this role. Any other would not be quite right.

  • @zelda1fiction1child Well the question is which larger role you would have given him?

There is actually only Marius i can think of that you could give him. He could have played Javert but his age/look is against him playing the part with Alfie Boe..

  • @zelda1fiction1child Well the question is which larger role you would have given him?

There is actually only Marius i can think of that you could give him. He could have played Javert but his age/look is against him playing the part with Alfie Boe.. But i agree he is awesome and i love his voice and acting:)

  • @zelda1fiction1child

Let me get this straight: I never said that he isn't awesome enough already. I LOVED him as Enjorlas, and I thought it was a great role for him. It's not an easy role and I will definetly give him credit for that. However, don't you think that being, well, pretty much THE Phantom of the Opera, Ramin deserved more stage time? I thought he would have made an awesome Valjean, and maybe he would improve over the sad excuse for Marius. I never said this role wan't good enough.

  • @zelda1fiction1child LOL, Girl You posted your comment to yourself that seems like you discriminate against your own human race LOL!

  • @zelda1fiction1child there is no need he was the best voice in the entire concert I cant wait to see him as the phantom for the anniversary

  • @zelda1fiction1child Well, if Ramin had a larger role, we would get a sub par Enjolras

  • I think Ramin would make a great Valjean or Marius! If he wasn't playing Phantom!:)

  • Everyone can shut the hell up about Nick doing bad. You're all being naive closeminded people, hes only 18 of course his voice isnt as good as Ramin who has been on broadway many times, while Nick only did broadway when he was a young 7 year old. Give him credit, he did an amazing job as Marius.

  • @nickjonasislegend Ok, you're clearly a big NJ fan. But look at this objectively. He was brought into this show clearly as a business decision. There are a lot of people watching this thanks to NJ that wouldn't have looked at it otherwise. I will give him credit for his performance of A Little Fall of Rain, and even Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. But in all truthfulness, I just cringe a bit for him when he sings just after Alfie, Ramin or Hadley. He does seem a bit out of his depth. Sorry.

  • "It is time for us all to decide who we are"--better lyrics were never sung. Ramin's performance is not just inspired--he *inhabits* the role. He has such gravitas--such seriousness--that it's impossible to imagine anyone else ever matching this performance of a soul seeking justice. And, I don't know why anyone would complain about Nick J.; I'm over 50 years old and have never heard of the J. Bros, but N. is perfectly cast: naive, idealistic, a boy--but also a sign of hope for the future.

  • Oh god, Jonas' voice makes me giggle after Ramin's!

  • Hottest. Enjolras. Ever.

  • @sourgrl325 Hell. Yeah.

  • Hottest Enjolras ever.

  • @BecomeMyNewCat Mabye in one hundred years he'll catch up with enjolras.

  • My favorite scene in the show. I love it so much! Ramin's so impressive, I can't get over the power in his voice.

  • Ramin Karimloo.... I love his lisp and how when he holds out a long note he resets his eyebrows... like at 2:40-2:41 and 5:30... And the kid who plays Gavroche?? so friggin cute.

  • Nick looks like he has to take a crap. And he's shit, so thats good together

  • @Ralfius no hes fucking not, jesus christ hes not used to singing this type of music. way to be an asshole.

  • @nickjonasislegend Your name says enough. This is Les Miserables, not the hitparade. He may be good enough for the hitparade, but he's absolutely not good enough for Les Mis.

  • Ramin is the only actor in this cast that eclipse's their predecessors! His dramatic voice, and the way he can hold a note straight without vibratto is flawless!!! I 1 million percent prefer him as Enjolras than him as Phantom. He controls his vibratto here and it's perfectly OK to sing very dramatically in this role, not so much as the Phantom though. And I know I'm probably in the minority for the Phantom opinion, too :P

  • @Dirschbag It's Ramin Karimloo, he can do both roles and so much more.

  • @ctonzhang Can he do both roles? Yes. Is he an appropriate actor for both roles? No. Enjolras definitely fits his tamber, vocal range, and overrall style of singing than the Phantom.

  • ENJOLRAS HAS DIMPLES <3 <3

  • @yuvalluger OH MY GOSH!!! He does!!!! I never noticed that before!

  • If it were just Nick Jonas, I'll admit, he would sound decent. But in the concert it's like this: ENJOLAS marius GRANTAIRE

You get what I mean? His voice just gets swallowed up by the others'. I would rather see him in a few years time; he's got it there, but he needs more training.

  • Ramin's voice is great, but Hadley Grantaire's voice is better.

  • Ramin is amazing but the one playing Marius lacks strenght in his voice...

  • I love the double take Ramin / Enjolras does when he sings "Graintaire, put that bottle down!"

His performance in this was beyond the amount of perfect one individual should have. In my opinion his acting was easily the best in the 25th anniversary version. Don't get me wrong, Alfie Boe is God and no one can compare to his voice, but Ramin's acting + singing (IMO!) towers over everyone else's in the performance. He should have been Enjolras for Broadway.

  • You can see it in his eyes. Ramin has become Enjolras, taken on his passion for revolution, and a dream of a new dawn. Spot on performance!

  • @rageagainstmachines Yes! At 5:02 on Ramin gets this crazy look in his eyes and I love it!

  • hahaha okay so Ramin is a better singer than all of them, but like if you think the guy in green in hilarious =P

  • I love 5:18! The boys are like "No doubt! Nodoubt!" He is PREACHING!

  • "Grantiare, put that bottle down!"

Am I the only one who found themself laughing at that? It's like "for the LAST TIME..."

  • Ramin is amazing! And now he is going to be participating in the 25th Anniversary Concert of PHANTOM at the Royal Albert Hall this fall!

  • I believe Grantaire once described Enjolras as a Greek God. And I'll be damned if Ramin Karimloo doesn't uphold that standard (both vocally and... otherwise... ;-P ).

Seriously though, the only person in this entire (notably excellent) performance who could top Ramin for sheer talent was Alfie Boe himself!

  • nick actually sounds decent when he isn't pushing through his nose to sing pop crap but he just can't hold up to Ramin's standard as he sings! i almost feel bad for him...i think nick should sing like he is here in Disney. he would have a respectable career, but i don't think he belongs on broadway...

  • Euw, Nick Jonas has such a horrible nasal voice. Stop ruining Marius for me.

  • Nick Jonas sounds so mediocre when he sings after Ramin .. :S

  • "Don't let the wine go to your brains!" Guy holding a bottle of wine looks around like "who, me?"

  • Nick Jonas was decent enough, but he was definately overpowered by the others, especially since he hadn't been trained in a long time.

  • OMG just when I thought Nick Jonas couldn't get any cuter I see him on this and I stand corrected! He is so blasting HOT I can't get over it!

  • 0:20 omg its FRANCE!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • love the "Grantaire, PUT THAT BOTTLE DOWN!!!"

  • @bloodyvampire1120 I loove him! haha

  • @bloodyvampire1120 Enjolras just said to "not let the wine go to their brains" and Grantaire just keeps drinking :p:p:p he even still finds an excuse to justifice his drinking: "give me brandy on my breath and I'll breath them all to dead!" :D:D

  • ramin is GREAT!

  • 4:20-4:26. Hilarious! :D

  • Is it Grantaire with whom Enjolras left here? since in the fan fiction they bond is presented as not being there at all.

  • Is John Owen Jones Jean Valjean in this?

  • @LilyPeters1550 Alfie Boe

  • @LilyPeters1550 No, it's Alfie Boe.

  • Ramin is sooo nice as always! Can't wait to save enough money and go to London and see LND! <3

  • Ugh Ramin is so amazing!!! He's spell-binding!

  • Oh my gosh! I am just in love with Ramin and his GORGEOUS voice! >3

    ..but I couldn't imagine a Jonas brother being in anything broadway related. XD;

  • Does he intentionally mispronounce "lemarque" and "lemarche" at 5:10 or is that just me?

  • @meginmd He says: "On the tomb of Lemarque shall a barricade rise." That's what you're hearing. So it isn't just you, it's the lyrics. Haha

  • @opalibra After I listened with headphones, you're right. :)

  • Oh my god, Ramin *fans herself*. He takes my breath away. He's so talented. He's just as good as Michael Maguire if not better (though I love Michael too).

  • Don't let the wine go to your brains *looks sideways and mutters* yes Grantaire, I'm talking to you . . .

  • OMG. I absolutely adore the "...we call!" note at 5:27.

  • Jonas's facial expressions are all the same. Still like him better in this, then his little crap band with his brothers.

  • Tell me you don't love Ramin's note and the french horn call at 4:55. Glorious.

  • @sierracademianut That's honestly my favorite part of the video. And the part when he tells Grantaire to put his bottle down. ;)

  • Whoever played Grantaire is amazing.

Ramin on the other hand... Well that's what you call a man. ;)

  • @Mezemme I'm about 85% sure that that is Hadley Fraser.But I'm not sure.

  • The name of the character who's a drunk escapes me, but I love him! He just made my day.

  • who is the guy standing next to Nick Jonas?

  • I just LOVE when Ramin sang "Grantaire put that bottle down" :)

  • Ramin Karimloo....My Dream Boy <3

  • I love the end of Red and Black right before it goes into do you hear the people sing.

  • Nick definitely sang "corher" not color. That's one of his problems here.
