  • William Smith spoke very highly of his experience working with James Garner. Loved William Smith as a kid - one of the heaviest badasses on film.

  • William Smith

  • 2 Great Actors...2 @KOREAN War Veterans,I SALUTE you Both!

  • Note that when William Smith orders a bourbon and water he is next seen drinking out of a beer mug!

Who serves bourbon and water in a mug?

  • Yeah I noticed that, bad editing.

  • The guy who comes in to the can and interrupts them is Jack Garner. Jim's real life brother.

  • You gotta be one of the dumbest lookin apes I ever saw. EPIC

  • Television used to be fun to watch.

  • Jim & the classic plaid jacket :D Love it. One of the best shows ever. Thanks for posting it!!!

  • He's the guy who fights Clint in every which way you can

  • @MickeyLove01 Actually, Smith had a number of classic fight scenes. There was also the one with Nick Nolte on the ship in Rich Man, Poor Man, and maybe the best fight scene ever on Gunsmoke with Matt Dillon after he kidnapped Miss Kity, apparently raped her (or at least allowed his gang to), and then shot her and left her for dead. When Dillon went after him, it was the only time in the series that Marshall Dillon ever took off his badge. They had an epic fight scene.

  • Great - way to outsmart him Jimmy - Rockford- the Best .

  • That's interesting, William Smith's real birth date was March 24th 1933. The license Rockford pulls from his pocket says March 25th 1943. They must have thought he was good looking enough to make him 10 years younger and pass as a 31 yo when in fact he was 41 years old in 1974. Just doing a little PI work here my self.. just trivia really.

  • A plethora of plaid.... excellent !

  • Okay, it was the Mayfair Music Hall in Santa Monica--a variety showcase, not a burlesque club.

  • Anybody know where this scene was shot?

  • @hookalakah the theater is pictured at the end of the scene

  • @hookalakah Somewhere in Los Angeles I'm sure. That's where the show was set anyway...

  • I'd say more Burlesque Theatre than strip club.

  • I love this show! James Garner was THE man! <3

  • Its nice to see what the gentleman clubs looked like in Los angeles, calif during the 1970's. All show and no tips on the stage. thats when the owners paid the girls weekly and they made money from drink commissions...
