  • One person is still trying to put their arm around memory.

  • I love it when a tv drama introduces you to an artist or song. The Sopranos brought me here Season 2 episode 11

  • Simply one of hte greatest songs ever written.

  • Thanks you Johnny...for it all...!!! live throug the time...!!

  • @15264897 Because you're a gay little Emo.

  • first heard the giant sand cover..forgot all about this track until i heard it on a episode on the sopranos

  • Great song.

  • As a sixteen-year-old vintage music nut, I will say yes, Johnny, that is too true...

  • @ladidah9 way to go kid!

  • A fuckin gem I'must say

  • we've all been there dope kills you n your boys

  • Wonderful song..thanks for sharing. Johnny was so talented

  • awesome !

  • Johnny was one of the best of the times.

  • THE SHIT

  • Johnny's been blamed for introducing heroin to the Brit punk scene when he moved to England in the '70s. Instead of Johnny Apple Seed, he was Johnny Poppy Seed!

  • @Bobjb999 that made me laugh ,,,cause its true

  • Tack Johnny

  • The rest of the "So Alone" album is worth getting hold as well. Some other great songs and guest musicians like; Phil Lynott, Chrissie Hynde, Peter Perrett, Steve Jones, etc.

    A 70's classic.

  • because you born to late

  • @15264897 Ive been asking that question for a long time now.

  • Had this song rolling around in my head forever, couldn't figure out who it belonged to. Thanks for putting this up.

  • If the Thunder roar he is near.

  • Is this punk rock? I just think it's nice, a cute song.

  • @Caxadoccullo Johnny is just beyond words like "punk" ....he is simply amazing!

  • I was born in '74, so I couldn't be there for him when he had a terrible career. He was dead before I got into punk. But he's one of the lost, like Ron Asheton, or Peter Laughner. My love...

  • thunders is a legend

  • You are SO AWESOME you put this up!!!!!

  • zero new blood

  • im sorry but.....What a Fuckin' great song!!!

  • Saw the Dolls in London few years back. They were great but with Johnny gone it always feels like something big is missing................R.I.P. Johnny.

  • @15264897 i know me too

  • It doesn't pay to try

All the smart boys know why...

  • "It doesn't pay to try, all the smart boys know why. Doesn't mean I didn't try, I just never know why." Johnny pretty much just summed up my last 23 years with that lyric...RIP <3

  • I saw Johnny at the Lit Club in CT in '81 or '82, He was literally falling down wasted, ended up playing sitting on the edge of the stage. and STILL he was very engaging and put on a truly great show. Until he just lay down and passed out, and the band carried on without him. So sad when someone so amazing throws it all away. Happens way to often.

  • @15264897 I saw him in the 80ths and it was really a sad story even then. R.I.P. Thunders!

    Baby Talk

  • True story, back in '91, I was working at an art studio, with nothing to do that day, I pulled out a white t shirt and airbrushed Johnny Thunders' portrait on it, the one from the album COPY CATS with Patti on it...only it was just Johnny..looking down..looking sad. That night I went to Record Theatreand the clerk looks at me and says.."Is that Johnny Thunders on your shirt?, "Yeah" I say..then he proceeds to tell me Johnny Thunders died that day...... what are the odds? gave me a chill.....

  • I'm preaching to the choir, but this guy was one of the most influential guitarists who walked the Earth...bridging metal, glam, punk, and even folk. Here's a guy who played with Steve Jones, Wayne Kramer, Sid Vicious, Steve Marriot and Phil Lynott...talk about bridging genres....And no one could slide across the strings like Johnny....

  • @decristo1021 the bit where the guitar goes chigga- chinggg is my favourite bit

  • johnny rocks alway's

  • This never gets old

  • I wore this record out.

RIP Johnny you were a diamond in a sea of turds.

  • Without a doubt one of the best songs ever made!

  • I never get tired of listening to his music. So underrated.

  • @15264897 Almost everyone was dead, they waiting for us...

  • @15264897 Maybe the reason YOU do is because you follow the herd.

  • AIN'T IT THE TRUTH, BROTHER!

  • Still one of my favorite songs of all times!

  • end of a great sopranos episode which always had great music

  • Also featured in the Martin Scorcese film Bringing out the Dead.

  • @Tubernaut BFD.

  • @ecnalubma696969 It was a BFD to me.

  • this is a ''rock'' for the future foundations of stone and rock

  • THANK YOU i was looking my ass of for this version

  • @LeKerstman You could always pay 10 bucks and buy the goddamn CD.

  • @LeKerstman Did it ever cross your mind to BUY THE GODDAMN ALBUM?

  • Still love this song, not the best Thunders track but it became the most poignant.

  • What a song! Love it!

  • taped this back in the early 90s from CBC radio show called NIGHTLINES.

  • what a fantastic song, been in my head for days. classic!!
