Racism is a terrible thing, however those guys that will not vote for him due to his race, if not racist I doubt they would then vote for barack becasue of his policies and political views. I feel, on the whole barack is at an advantage becasue he is black...Many (most of the 90 or so % that will vote for him) will admit to voting for him because of his skin colour.
McCain differs from Bush on so many things, that is why he is opposed by very conservative republicans.
I think some obama voters are trying to get him voted in by trying to make mccain voters feel guilty. It has nothing to do with his skin colour (maybe a small minority of people wouldnt vote for him because he is black) but his ineficiencies go far beyond skin colour: inexperience, poor judgment, radical etc
Why would anyone try to make McCain voters feel guilty that sounds ridiculous. The point is so many people will use inexperience, radical views, racism (on Obamas part) as an excuse. Racism and the man is half white. When the real deep down excuse their own prejudices. You ask how do I know...I guess there is no way to tell. Its between God and them. Watch McCain how he smiles then suddenly stops is that a bit odd or a bit deceptive? Watch him the next time he's on tv you'll see it.
I see McCain's smile. So what! he is trying to push out smiles because he is considered by alot of people to be a grumpy old man, that doesn't bother. So you think Obama is genuine all the time? He is (although claiming not to be) a politicain. All he has got is his speeches, which he is great at. He is all talk, but when one looks at actually WHAT he has done, they will see that he doesn't nearly compare to McCain.
The smile then suddenly straight face shows he is being disingenuous. Take off your blind fold and just see it for what it is. I'm not telling you to not vote for him but at least open your eyes to the truth. If you were talking face to face with someone and they acted in this manner you would never trust them...can we at least agree on that?
It is politics.. he is trying to appear more 'smiley' to some people. Its more of an awkward smile. Hillary Clinton does the same thing with her eyes (she makes them very very wide) and barack is too sneaky to appear to be doing anything different. I think it has largely to do with McCain not be a great public speaker, he is very awkward.. But i suppose I would rather have a solid president that can't speak, rather than one who can but would lead the country and the world down the wrong track.
You did not answer the question. If you were talking face to face with someone and they acted in this manner would you trust them? A simple yes or no would do.
i agree wholeheartedly. "Change" brings to mind anything people want. It fits universally for any audiance. You dont have to promise anything substantial for "change" to work.
PPl have said Paul supporters are similar, and I disagree. While "freedom" is as ambiguous as "change" there is an ideology of personal responsibility and a history behind "freedom". "change" does not.
What is ironic about obamas policies are that he is not actually promising real change from the status quo...
I am sorry for your family tragedy. I hope your son is doing better and your family can psychologically heal from the unimaginable pain you must be going through.
Let's hope that your grandsons will not fight another war like this one, which only benefit the rich
Obama got the nomination over many different whites. There are more whites who for historical reasons WANT a black president than those who will not vote for him because he is black.
But, Obama has no more connection to black America other than he did have white slaveholding ancestors (unlike me and most other whites). Kenya is also no where near where slaves came from. It is like comparing Portugal with Russia -- not very related.
Just voted! See you tomorrow Mr. President O

Thanks for your honesty. Being a politician does not give anyone the right to be disingenuous republican or Democrat.
