The 2nd shot did it, he fell and tensed up. After a couple of minutes, I heaved him over the fence. The neighbors just stared.

My brother has 3 pure pits, that he's had since they were babies. He also has a 3 year old son. All his son does is jump on them and pull on their ears and pry their mouths open and harass them and they continue to love on him and lick him. I know first hand these dogs are so sweet. My uncle used to have a couple of these dogs, they have a bad rep, but these guys were friendly and fine with me and my sister playing with them when we were kids, you could tie their pull toys around the washing line and they would hang from them for ages. haha. We were all so easily entertained.

My dogs also pull weight, work spring poles, catch hogs, etc. etc. etc. Also lots of personal protection work. There are some great vids of both breeds working up on here already too, in the meantime :-)

I've been bitten by two different dogs including my GSD and my Husky Wolf Hybrid. I can honestly tell you the fear of a dog bite out matches the actual discomfort of the wound. I feel bad for the ignorant people who think all pit bulls are naturally mean dogs. It completely depends on how they are raised by their owner. My brother has 3 pure pits, that he's had since they were babies. He also has a 3 year old son. All his son does is jump on them and pull on their ears and pry their mouths open and harass them and they continue to love on him and lick him. I know first hand these dogs are so sweet. My dogs also pull weight, work spring poles, catch hogs, etc. etc. etc. Also lots of personal protection work. I will try & get some video up next time I go visit my female at the farm or at the next bite work meet. I use Game Dogs and Alano Espanols. There are some great vids of both breeds working up on here already too, in the meantime :-)

@centralbeeee actually, no, dog fighting has ZERO to do with training, it has to do with selective line breeding for a specific function. In the case of the pit bulldog, that function was gameness :-) you're welcome

@centralbeeee CONDITIONING them, not training them. You can't train a dog to fight, they either will or they won't. If they are eager & willing you can condition them & hone in on their skills. That's about all the training needed. A dogman spends every waking minute with his prospect before a fight.

When i made that statement i thought you would realize my use of training was synonymous with conditioning, but unfortunately i guess you were incapable of comprehending that. You say "CONDITIONING them, not training them" and then you go on to say "That's about all the training needed". You pretty much correct my use of the word training and then go on to use it for self support hmm

i like pit bulls but just last night my friend's dogs were attacked by three pit bulls and they were killed. he loved those dogs more than anything.

I wish people would not judge a dog by their breed, after all Racism is still an ongoing problem. It is not the dog who is born viscious or mean, they have to be trained. Any animal can be trained to attack, Pitbulls are very sweet dogs, I have two and they do not attack or bite. They are gorgeous and very sweet dogs. Dogs are like children you have to instill characteristic values! Pitbulls are a very gorgeous breed! Do not judge all pitbulls because you hear a dramatic story about ONE!!
