It's always interesting to read opinions on this guy. As far as I am concerned 'the best guitar player' debate is pointless. Clapton himself has been quoted as saying Tommy Emanuel is the best he has ever heard........at the end of the day it's whoever moves you. For me Clapton is up there..technically there are many better, but he does the music he plays justice and that's what its all about.

@ottoripp1103 If you want to talk about stolen, "Driftin' Blues" was written and recorded in 1945 by Johnny Moore's 3 Blazers and "Katie Mae Blues" was written in 1946 and recorded with Aladdin Records. A lot of blues songs sounds the same because a lot of them are written in the same key and use the same form. Blues is about the lyrics and the feeling, and less about the music. Yeah these old guys got ripped off a lot, but this is a cover and you can't steal someone else's song through a cover.

@the4xchamp :i would just like to add to your comment that i somewhat agree with some of the things you said. I used to think in the same way you do that if i can play it, it wasn't that great. think that a lot of guitarists these days tend to put "too much" fluff into their playing and they lose the original feeling of the songs especially with blues. Blues to me is "Music with a Feeling" and "Music for The Soul" and should not be fogged up by too much "fluff".

I love Clapton. He has been my favorite since the 60's and "Sunshine of your Love". But honestly, I felt sad watching this one. "I" can play as good as what he plays in this video. And any time "I" can play as well as the artist in the video, I am not usually impressed. Being CLAPTON is what makes this good. Anyone else would not have put it on you tube. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.

songwriter,pianist & singer was easily the most

talented person to ever come out of Texas City,

but the city has never properly honored him. Some

I had the great opportunities of seeing Charles Brown perform live in intimate venues a half-dozen times, in the San Francisco Bay area, in the last few years before he died. Even in his declining years, he still had a golden voice, sharp wit, and he was a magnificent pianist and entertainer, even in the last few years of his life.
