The three wheeled Quattro... I remember it so well. This is all a recent memory to me. I bought my first Manta in 85, I bought it because of Russell Brookes, Ari Vatanen, and Jimmy McRae. Mine wasn't as good as theirs but it still took every roundabout and corner sideways in the wet, and my 2 1/4" exhaust and twin sidedraught Webbers sounded awesome. Ah... good old days.

I was at the Trentham stage that year, just been going through the pics my Dad took. I well remember the smell of hot exhausts and freshly-churned earth......it was not muddy and quite mild.

You can see some ppl in the pics wearing just sweaters.

BTW, where is the second stage in the vid.?? With a bit of gravel and the 'safari park' Land Rover ??
